Lightroom :: Can't Open The Program From The Desktop Icon

I've got LR 5.3, and PS CC. This is a new LR install. I'm trying to import from an SD card, and when I hit the LR desktop icon for the app, I get a small window asking me to "CHoose a Different Catalogue" or "Create a New Cataloague. The "Open" button is greyed-out. The large "Select a recent catalogue" window is empty. When I go the the SD card under my computer, all I can do is open it to a folder containing the images, and the only option is "Save", not "Open". But nothing happens when I hit the Save button.
Purchased from Adobe via internet. Akamai interface downloaded and then Photoshop Elements 11. Both icons on Mac desktop. Double clicking on PE 11 does not launch program. Is it fully downloaded? I get Read Me file in four languages as well as a PE 11 icon after double clicking the desktop icon.
My photoshop CS5 will not open either from the desktop or from the program list. I can open Bridge but when I then try to view a photo in photoshop I get a message that says Bridge has stopped working and will have to close down.
I downloaded the LR5.3 file: Lightroom_5_LS11_mac_5.3.dmg and then clicked on the file to open it. After installing, the Lightroom 5.3 icon appears on the top right of my Mac desktop, however, when i open Lightroom from Finder>Applications it still shows LR5.2C. So I clicked on the LR5.3 icon on the top right of my screen and it gives me the original box that I already clicked to install LR5.3.
Lightroom 3.6 icon disappear from desktop and startmenu. The operating system is Windows 7 Home. The icon disappeare after a couple of weeks. I need to repare the installation.
My CS4 shortcut icon has disappeared from my desktop and I have a generic Windows 7 icon left instead. I have tried rebooting to re-create the proper shortcut icon but always get just the generic one. I am running Windows 7 RC1 and have no problems with CS4. Grateful for any ideas on how to get back the proper CS4 icon.
I downloaded the awesome 3ds Max for my film projects.It was good for a few days, it was good in the morning, but in the afternoon something happen. Desktop icon, disappeared. I cant get into the software. I tried going to program files and autodesk folders, got nothing.
I had safelifeapp virusing my comp so i may have tampered with something and it probably messed it up.I'm looking to find a way to get back into the program somehow.
I have had Photoshop on my desktop for a couple of years with no problem. But when I now click it, nothing happens but a 20 sec wait, then nothing. I have checked the program files and Photoshop is still there with 368 MB.
Have just bought boxed version VSx3 and unable to get to use!! every time that it says install finished i click corel VS icon on desktop and my pc reboots have tried 4 removals with the coral clean utility and registry edit removal of keys to no avail.
Clicking on the desktop icon provided by the install of Pspx4 has the splash image appear briefly then a 'not going to do it' message box followed by Win7 'there is a problem, progam is being closed' message box.Created my own shortcut from the Pspx4 exe and the same thing happened.Using the listing in the Start Menu 'All Programs' will start PspX4.
There is no problem exporting an image from Lightroom 4 to be opened in Pspx4. That happens without fault.I applied 'run as administrator' to the shortcut I created and now that will open the software as expected.
In Microsoft windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit when PDF is created in Coreldraw X6 64 bit PDF Icon dont shows Thumbnail on Desktop. I can see the thumbnails from other's PDF
I get the message: Lightroom - opening catalog: img_8955.cr2.lrcat, when I try to open the program. I havn´t used Lightroom for a while. Now I tried to reinstall from My Adobe with no success.
Photoshop CS5 will not launch either from the desktop or program list. The only way to launch is to log out and restart the computer. At the end of each session I reset the preferences in the Workspace. I am running Win 7 ultimate with 4GB of ram. System is 64 bit . Display is ATI Radeon HD 5700 series. Adapter type is AMD Radeon Graphics Processor (0x68B8). The computer has an Intel(R) series/3400 Chipset Family.
When I installed from the disk I received the message Exit Code 6, 0 fatal errors, 21 errors, 1 warning. I have reinstalled several times and still get the same message. Tried disabling start up items while installing but same message.
I have changed from 32 bit pc to 64 bit and can't open my previous catalogue, I get an error message saying catalogue might be open and used with another program (which it isn't) or I might need permissions.......
When I open the file.psd to edit or file.jpg (Any file type) The program will appear the dialog and then When I click "OK" to close this dialog.After that, it will appear the dialog to close program.
I could not continue to work.I must close and reopen the program. (Do not open the file.)
I have been having problems opening old corel drw 11 jobs that i did.
Once i finish designing and close the files, it will not open the following day.
also some times i get an error message that the application you are using has become unstable and will need to close, and i always lose any ongoing projects.
I have CS6 and am using Photoshop, but when I try to open any image on my desktop the `open with` option does not include Photoshop CS6, only other Adobe applications; even when I browse I can only find the Adobe systems file, with the .exe doc; I have a lot of images to edit, preferably without having to open Photoshop and individually open them from their folders; how to make Photoshop CS6 `open-with`-able for any desktop/external hard drive images?
Revit Architecture 2009 Suite, keeps locking up on one users machine when trying to access the open file window from the open icon on the toolbar or by using file then open or by using ctrl-o. Double clicking on a revit file from windows manager works fine. I tried uninstalling revit, deleteing the folders associated with revit and reinstalling and it still does the same thing.
I have been using Gimp for a while and have never had this happen. When I open Gimp, it does not show the usual Gimp, File, Help Menu at the top. I am unable to open a file in Gimp. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still this tab is missing.
ive been having a number of issues with an imported drawing which i have now resolved. however i cant now see my icon menu when im trying to open or save a drawing.
I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that? can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.
