Revit Architecture 2009 Suite, keeps locking up on one users machine when trying to access the open file window from the open icon on the toolbar or by using file then open or by using ctrl-o. Double clicking on a revit file from windows manager works fine. I tried uninstalling revit, deleteing the folders associated with revit and reinstalling and it still does the same thing.
View 2 RepliesWhen I try to add a layer mask either by clicking the icon in layers panel or going layer>add mask I am not getting a usable mask. The layer mask icon in the layers panel is added to the image, but it is still the rectangle with a white circle in it, not an icon with an all white or all black background. Clicking on this icon does not produce a mask to paint, whether white or black. why I am not getting the typical pixel layer mask that can be used to paint and reveal the image beneath?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running PS CS6 on a MacBook Pro retina(OSX 10.8.3), and PS CS5 on an iMac(OSX 10.8.4).I recently installed the Kwik 2 plugin, from Kwiksher.com
Installation via Extension Manager goes normally.When I open the Kwik 2 panel, I see it try to open it's SWF UI, but after a few seconds I get the twirling colorful ball, and photoshop stops responding. Only option is to force quit.
I created a new user on this machine to try to narrow things down. When I log in as that other user, everything works, Kwik 2 plugin panel opens normally and I can work with the plugin.I'm trying to figure out how I can troubleshoot this. I can't seem to find any place where Photoshop creates logs in situations like this.Apparently, something is being loaded (or not loaded) when I log in with my normal username.
This morning I opened AutoCad LT 2005 and was going to print a map with multiple layers. Everytime I tried to open the layers tool AutoCad LT 2005 would lock up. I would go to the task manager and it showed that it was still running but I could not do anything in the program. I closed Autocad LT from the task manager and opened up a blank document and tried to view layers and it locked up once again. I re-installed AutoCad LT 2005 from original disk and still I have the same behavior.

I'm using PS4 Extended on Windows SP3 and whenever I double click on a JPEG, TIFF or PSD file, it will open Photoshop but the file itself does not open. I've checked to make sure PS4 is the chosen program to open with both in Properties as well as in File Types. Dragging and dropping a file into Photoshop will work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on a .dwg on a website, AutoCAD will not open the document and IE just loads a blank page. My default program for .dwg is set to AutoCAD DWG Launcher. This works on other PCs.
The only way to open the .dwg is to right-click the link, select Save-As, then double-click the file once it is saved on my PC.
How can I fix this?
There are really two problems here:
1) If I double click on a file, it opens in Illustrator, but it does not open with my default workspace settings. If I open the file from the file menu, my preferred workspace opens.
and
2) If I have one file open, I cannot double click on a second file and have that file open in Illustrator. I just get the little spinning circle and then it stops. I can still open a second file from the file/open menu option.
We are using CS6 and running windows 7.
I have noticed that with CS 6, I can't fully use an application by clicking on it from another open application. If I am in Illustrator and Photoshop is in the background, I click on the Photoshop interface and it comes to the front of the screen, but that's all it does...no functionality beyond this. What must be done is for me to click on the Finder first, then click on the application icon in the Dock in order to access the program's functionality fully.
It doesn't matter if it's Lion or Mountain Lion...I have two machines with different operating systems and both do the same thing.
I don't know if this is an Adobe issue or an Apple OS issue. I have looked into all the preferences on the applications as well as the OS X control panels...no luck.
Running Mac os x Mountain lion (latest release 10.8.3 I believe) and Latest release of Gimp (just installed last week 2.8.4)
If I double click and open a file (file format doesn't matter, jpg,tiff, xcf etc) the file opens gimp and it opens correctly.
However If once gimp is open I try and double click on another file it pops up an error "The document "text.xcf" could not be opened. Gimp Cannot open files in the "Gimp Image" format.
If I then close gimp and double click that same file it opens gimp and the files opens as normal.
It doesn't matter if i'm logged in as administrator or a regular user. I've tried downloading the program and copying it back to the app folder again.
Perhaps I need to wipe out the GIMP folder in ~/Library/Application Support ?
I am having trouble with my CS3... have used for a number of years. It won't open a file. I click file, open.. and the selections go grey. I have uninstalled and re-installed and it does the same thing. I have re-installed on my data drive so there is plenty of room. I have 3.5 gb memory.. nothing else open.

Since the majority of my plugins only work on 32bit I find using 64bit unfortunately useless. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem with Photoshop CS. When I double-click on a tiff, jpeg, or Photoshop file it launches the program, but it won't open the image. In order to do that I must go to file and choose open. This is much more trouble. I can't figure out why. My photoshop guru friend couldn't figure out why. Any ideas?
Also, and this may or may not be related. When I open the program I get the following message: For Photoshop UI to display correctly, open System Preferences, click General, and turn off text smoothing for font sizes 8 and smaller.
The weird thing is, when I did what message suggested, I discovered that there was no "text smoothing" option to turn off under Preference (under General) in Photoshop. There is no General in the computer's System Preferences, so I'm assuming the message refers to Photoshop Preferences.
when I'm in a part file and attempting to open the related drawing file by right clicking on the part name at the top of the design tree, the drawing can't be found automatically and I've to find it in the file open dialogue box.

I'm trying to import from an SD card, and when I hit the LR desktop icon for the app, I get a small window asking me to "CHoose a Different Catalogue" or "Create a New Cataloague. The "Open" button is greyed-out. The large "Select a recent catalogue" window is empty. When I go the the SD card under my computer, all I can do is open it to a folder containing the images, and the only option is "Save", not "Open". But nothing happens when I hit the Save button.

I was trying to make an after effects icon on the dock ( I have a MacBook pro running mavericks )I have a subscription to the creative cloud - and have downloaded after effects CS6 . but....
Now when I try to open one of my After effects projects it says " Error message something about I need to uninstall the older version of after- effects and then it listed a preset ( blur) and when I close the window , there were approximately 30 similar windows with the same message , but a different preset,( blur this or that )
So like an idiot I went to my applications and dragged my after effects app icon to the trash ( there were two of them) and then emptied the trash- Now all my After effects files are greyed out with small green text that says "exec"
I cant open my AE(after effects) files, I went to the cloud to re-install it and it says it is alll updated , should I do a uninstall? How do I do that? can I do that and then re-install AE CS6?will adobe make me download the newer CC version?I don't want that version because all the computers at my school run CS6.
I have a problem wit Revit 2014 from BDS Premium. I don't have 3D default view icon in Quick Access Toolbar and I can not add it. I tried to right click on QAT and customize it but unfortunately 3D view is not in the list and it can't be added by righ clicking on the icon.

Everything works, but the script will (correctly) give an error message if it's run when no image is open.
The bound icon on the toolbar is always enabled, even if no image is open. Is there a way to have the icon disabled (grayed out) if no image is open?
Every time I open ACA 2013, my toolbars that I have loaded turn off. Well currently only the layers toolbar remains, my custom toolbar and the properties toolbar turn off every time I open ACA with the icon or the exe file itself. If I open a drawing file the toolbars seem to remain. I also just installed the service pack, no change.
