Lightroom 3.6 icon disappear from desktop and startmenu. The operating system is Windows 7 Home. The icon disappeare after a couple of weeks. I need to repare the installation.
View 1 RepliesI downloaded the LR5.3 file: Lightroom_5_LS11_mac_5.3.dmg and then clicked on the file to open it. After installing, the Lightroom 5.3 icon appears on the top right of my Mac desktop, however, when i open Lightroom from Finder>Applications it still shows LR5.2C. So I clicked on the LR5.3 icon on the top right of my screen and it gives me the original box that I already clicked to install LR5.3.

I'm trying to import from an SD card, and when I hit the LR desktop icon for the app, I get a small window asking me to "CHoose a Different Catalogue" or "Create a New Cataloague. The "Open" button is greyed-out. The large "Select a recent catalogue" window is empty. When I go the the SD card under my computer, all I can do is open it to a folder containing the images, and the only option is "Save", not "Open". But nothing happens when I hit the Save button.

I had safelifeapp virusing my comp so i may have tampered with something and it probably messed it up.I'm looking to find a way to get back into the program somehow.
I have had Photoshop on my desktop for a couple of years with no problem. But when I now click it, nothing happens but a 20 sec wait, then nothing. I have checked the program files and Photoshop is still there with 368 MB.

View 3 Replies View RelatedClicking on the desktop icon provided by the install of Pspx4 has the splash image appear briefly then a 'not going to do it' message box followed by Win7 'there is a problem, progam is being closed' message box.Created my own shortcut from the Pspx4 exe and the same thing happened.Using the listing in the Start Menu 'All Programs' will start PspX4.
There is no problem exporting an image from Lightroom 4 to be opened in Pspx4. That happens without fault.I applied 'run as administrator' to the shortcut I created and now that will open the software as expected.
I found that when I open the autocad using Classic view, the icon are dimmed as attache file, however, when I open it in annotation view, it is normal.

Is it fully downloaded? I get Read Me file in four languages as well as a PE 11 icon after double clicking the desktop icon.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen i open photoshop elements 11 my thumbnails are displayed but then they quickly turn into an hourglass and then disappear and turn into a torn/ripped/broken page/photo icon.. i have tried refreshing, updating thumbnail, repairing cache, erasing cache, unistalling and reinstalling.. even tried too import same folder of photos on tw different computers and had the same problem. also, i can see the humbnails in windows explorer so i know the files are not corrupt or damaged.

The online support covers importing from folders, cameras, SD cards, etc...but doesn't mention importing a single photo that's already on my Mac. I've tried dragging the file onto the LR icon in my dock. LR starts up...but doesn't import the file. (Or if it did, I can't find it, since there's no "Last Import" selection in the Navigator panel).

View 16 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7. Recently upgraded from LR 4 (which was always stable for me) to LR 5. I have the application on one drive and my catalog and previews on a separate SSD drive. Anytime I run lightroom 5, after a little while (10-15 minutes), the drive with the catelog and previews is no longer accessible or even viewable from windows explorer. I've never had this trouble with any other program and the only way I've been able to see the drive again is by restarting my computer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLR5 Win7. I open a previously edited image in Develop module. I click on the first step of the history ("import...."). Immediately, all the history steps disappear, and a new step appears, "Post-crop vignette style: paint overlay." There are now just two steps in my history. When I try to click on the first/origial step, LR doesn't let me do that, it immediately jumps to (highlights) the "post-crop..." step. If I go to the Effects panel, the only option under style is "paint overlay." If I add a few more edits (change color, etc.) they work fine. But as soon as I click on the first history step, the same thing happens again.
Update as i work on this: if I click on ANY previous step in the history, LR adds the "Post-crop..." step at the top and does not then let me click on any previous step.
This does not happen with photos I have edited recently. It only happens with previously edited photos. I think it only happens with photos with 2003 or 2010 process, but it doesn't happen with all of them.
Then I tried opening one of these photos in the Develop module. I create a virtual copy, then go back to the original. I click on the first history step in the original, it does this strange thing described above. If I add more history steps to the original, then click on the first step, it also does this strange thing. However, if I add edits to the virtual copy, then click on the first step, it does not do this strange thing.
What I have tried:
-I have opened and restarted LR.
-I have gone back to a catalog from a few days previously and it exhibits the same behavior.
-I have tried updating the process before clicking on the earlier step, and this does not prevent the behavior.
I wanted to try to re-install LR, but when I try to download it, I get this message, "We're sorry, something seems to be wrong on our end. Please try again later."
When I am importing new images from my HDrive (where I want the masters) I choose ADD.the main folder is there ie GUJARAT and the subfolders are there too ie Gujarat 1, Gujarat 2 etc. When I close LR, and reopen, the folders have disappeared and do not show up under my HD on the left hand side. However, the photos are there in the main top folder which is my HD. When i locate the photo it does not say it is missing, however, the folder GUJARAT and the subfolders are not to be seen. Should I be choosing COPY instead of ADD? or creating a new catalog?Now, my folders and subfolders are not showing up, although the photos are still there..

However, that information does not show up when the photos are exported into individual folders within the computer. I am exporting the files the exact same way, so I am not sure why the information is not appearing the same.

Any easy way to import them because I am watching the videos and the tutorial does not look like my computer screen and I am seeing something different than what the woman is showing on her screen even though she shows it two different ways.
Also, do I need the full version in order to use the presets because when I click on them nothing happens. I am using the trial right now.
