I have someone doing a drawing and i am asking them to draw it at 1:1 instead of 1:100 even though the final result is going to need to be a 1:100 drawing in eps or pdf.
Â
Is it extremely simple to get a eps or pdf at 1:100 even if the drawing is at 1:1 - while retaining clarity and/or detail etc?
Â
My understanding is that they want this scale for publication but my thinking is that drawing at 1:1 is a much better idea in case i need to use this later.
I'm trying to export my drawing in paper layout to PDF but it is not exporting to the correct paper size. Â The final export is bigger than the regular printing paper. What should I do?
I am currenly having an issue when I try to edit a drawing on inventor 13'. pretty much everything I imported from sketchup is a mesh, there are a few elements of solids because I added a few things on autoCAD eng. I would like to know if there is a way to make the meshes into soilds or if there is a work-around.
My company has just aquired Autocad2013 after using Autocad2000LT for years. My boss feels that there might be a way to export the text in a drawing as a table.
Can you take text from a drawing and export it out to excel? My thoughts are room numbers, employee names, department names, etc.
I need an excel spreadsheet showing this information to then upload to my CAFM Application? Is there an alternative to obtaining a report from a drawing?
I am trying to find a way to create an index drawing without having to input much information in.
I would like to export the attributes from each drawing file in my (project folder) from the title-blocks (drawing numbers and descriptions) into excel and then be able to just data link that into my Index table in AutoCAD. I know i could put the info in excel and import it into my table in CAD but i am looking for something more Automatic, so that every time i need to create an index it will automatically extract the info from the drawing files title-blocks.
When I enlarge a drawing or draw a large drawing to size, when I go to shrink it down to an exportable size on the page all the porportions of outlines and shades are all out of whack. What can I do to maintain the drawing to scale with all intact for different sizing of jobs, So I don't have to go in an correct the aspect of the drawing for each and every job.
Also if I export a drawing as a jpg and email it, On the droid phones it does not recognize the jpg file and it won't open.
I want to take two 3D views from (autodesk) Revit Architecture 2012 to Illustrator CS5 and then make use of the live paint bucket tool*. I've printed the two 3D views into pdf files and imported them in Illustrator**. When I select the whole image in Illustrator and then click with the Live Paint Bucket tool on the drawing to modify the drawing so I can color the surfaces, Illustrator gives me the following error:  "The selection contains objects that cannot be converted. Live Paint groups can only contain paths and compound paths. Clipping paths are not allowed."
Exporting images (jpg, png and tiff) from Revit results in the same error. Is there a way to easily convert my vector drawing into a non-clipping paths drawing? Also I'm not sure if the problem should be found in either Revit or Illustrator. What's also strange is that I'm using a tutorial provided by my university, in which there are no issues with clipping paths or anything. Â * This in order to make an conceptual image of my building, which I've modeled in Revit. I want to add basic colors to surfaces in Illustrator and then take the image to Photoshop to add shadow, materials, sky etc.
** They only consist of lines, using the 'hidden line' visual style in my views in Revit, in case you know a bit of Revit.
I am trying to export an Illustrator file into Photoshop. So I am exporting it as ".EPS" and then when I try to either "open" or "import" within Photoshop it gives me an error message (see below). Please help, I have no idea what the problem might me, I've been killing myself all day with this.
I'm trying export a vector image from Illustrator CS 11.0.0 to Photoshop CS 8.0. I go through the process outlined in the manual and succesfully export the file. Everything works fine & I retain my layers (if I use CMYK), but my vectors are gone. The manual says I may need a plug-in but I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. My only options as far as color goes is CMYK, RGB, or Greyscale. I select CMYK and make sure "Write Layers" is selected, but there is nothing there to specify vectors.
Exporting from Illustrator to Photoshop: Not Enough Memory To Save File I have plenty of memory (6 GB) and the files I try to export are not very big (some less than 5 MB). Yet, I keep getting the above message: Not Enough Memory To Save File
I'm currently working on some icons for our new agency website... When try to export files with gradients, which assigned to nicely named graphic styles, illustrator keeps exporting a strange st-class for every new gradient i'm generating and refuses to assign my class, like:  <style type="text/css">          .testStyle{fill:url(#SVGID_1_);} //my class with a useless gradient          .st0{fill:url(#testrect_1_);} // class generated by illustrator </style> <linearGradient id="SVGID_1_" gradientUnits="userSpaceOnUse" x1="0" y1="0" x2="1" y2="0"> // useless gradient with no height?!          <stop offset="0" style="stop-color:#FFFFFF"/>          <stop offset="1" style="stop-color:#000000"/> [code]....  When i change the code by myself, it works properly. But it's actually no option to change every svg by hand...
When I export my .Ai file to .swf, the .swf has a huge red square overlaying the image, as well as some rnadom lines and chunks of other pieces of the art scattered around. Basically it's not saving as the image should be. It is a larger file size.. does swf only work up to a certain size?
illustrator CS4 "out of memory" exporting to PSD.settings to write layers at 300 dpi.worked fine a week ago, suddenly no memory? even tried with a 3 inch square and it would not export to Photoshop. Â Works fine in CS6, but I don't always have access to CS6.
When exporting from CS6 to jpeg there is a light outline that appears around the jpeg when it is placed on a coloured background on a web page. How can I remove this outline?
I'm using Illustrator CS6 and Photoshop CS6.I've been creating patterns in Illustrator, saving them to the swatch panel and then applying them to certain size squares.  I'd like to get those patterns into Photoshop but no matter what I try, there are small artefacts on them. I've tried exporting to PSD, JPG, PNG..They look perfect in Illustrator.
So, I'm developing a game currently and have been drawing some character portraits (busts if you will) in Illustrator CC (v17.0.0 32-bit). After finishing each portrait, I need to export them into a .png file that I can then use with MSPaint.  My troubles are that I always run into one or more of the following problems each time I export an image:  If I save the image at 72ppi, the exported images are the correct size but, they have jagged edges, which just aren't acceptable for my project. If I save the image at say 300ppi, the exported images are blown up and are too big but, they have smooth edges, which, while I want smooth edges, I cannot work with the increase size of the images.Sometimes exporting the images causes a new line around the smooth edges (I think I've heard this effect called a Halo or something along those lines), which is also unacceptable because I need a transparent background. Also, if I resize the blown up image manually, it causes develops the third problem.Â
What I'm after basically is to be able to export the image on my artboard into a .png file, have export at the same width and height it does when I export it at 72ppi, while keeping the edges smooth like they are when exporting it at 300ppi.  As a side note, I currently don't have a suscription/access to photoshop and don't have a way this month to gain access and though there are freeware programs that do a lot of what Photoshop is capable of, I can't seem to figure them out. I've mentioned this just in-case potential solutions require photoshop
Whenever I export a vector containing blend groups from CDR x5 to AI , the corresponding AI file does not contain the blend group, rather a simple group of 50 objects that have to be deleted and the blending redone in illustrator.Â
Do I have to save, select etc.... my Photoshop 7 file in a certain format in order to export paths to Illustrator? When I open up the exported file in Illustrator, it's blank.
I need help with using graphics. If you make a document in photoshop (please note: it's not a photo, but a scanned drawing) and then making some alterations on it... (adding text etc...) Then when I try to put this document in Illustrator or InDesign, the resolution and quality is horrible...
Please help. I've tried to save as a .jpeg, .gif, .tiff... I've tried to create a bitmap out of it (which was the worst method ever!)
How do I transfer photoshop documents to Illustrator and InDesign with great resolution and quality?
Whenever I export my artboards to the PNG format, I receive a slight change in the bitmap colorization. Â In Illustrator, my colors are perfect, but when exporting to PNG, the end result shows an increase in color vibrance - making a light blue (for example) show as slightly more turquoise/sharper light blue. Â Example: Â (This is a screenshot capture. Illustrator artboard is on the left hand side, the exported PNG example is on the right hand side.) Â So, my question is if I am doing something wrong with my color settings?
My settings have been set in my Adobe Bridge to: Â Europe General Purpose 3 RGB Space: sRGB IEC61966-2.1 CMYK Space: Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004) Â PS: I constantly switch between creating graphics that are used for the web and other on-screen web applications (such as GUI's) and printed booklets and posters, etc. I've always had immense trouble finding a perfect working space with web and printed material. Any color settings or some kind of best-practice working environment to create consistent color.
I create various maps masterplans and often need to end up in photoshop Previously worked around the psd export feature. But I have found that most effective way for me is to export a flat file to photoshop then copy the individual layers from ilustrator into photoshop as smart objects effectively rebuilding the structure of the ai file in photoshop.
The company I work for uses exclusively grayscale art and often the same art is used for print as well as online. Sometimes the art we export as .gifs (not my choice - company mandated file type) looks fuzzy (Times New Roman is company mandated typeface). I'm just wondering what the best settings for creating a grayscale .gif graphic would be? Currently, we use:
I recently started working with the new adobe cc programs. I haven't encountered these problems before. I have created everything using CMYK and used no images. I checked the colors in InDesign CC and the colors looked washed out as well. I checked overprint view and the colors don't change in Illustrator. Â The left is a screenshot of Illustrator and the right is a screenshot of PDF. Â Â Adobe CC uses synced color profiles so the colors should be the same across all adobe products right?
