I accidently saved my .ai file as a pdf and then kept editing. The file still had all of the layers etc.
If I 'save as' again and choose an illustrator document, will any quality be lost?
I saved a file as PSD ,then delete all the layers and was doing another stuff on the sheet( the reason I did this is because I wanted the same page size and was lazy to enter the size:| )after I finished, I saved the file to another name. but, I found that the first file that i saved manually , is replaced by an autosave file on my work procedure on the second file. I know this happend because I was working with the sama names, but is there any way that I can restore my first file that I saved to what I manually saved?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm editing .mov 1080p video clips from my DSLR in Lightroom 4.4. I,m using the slider bar to set a new "inpoint" and "outpoint," shortening the video. When I export, I am using the original format and new file name. Lightroom tells me the video is shorter in length, but when I play it back in Windows, the new file is the original length. What am I failing to do/see here? I'm using Win 7
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have somehow accidently hidden the close, minimize and expand circles in Photoshop CS6 on a mac and now every time I want to minimize photoshop I have to go into window > arrange > minimize instead of just clicking the circle.
I have tried the tab key, the 'F' key, view > screen mode and window > arrange and none of them have worked and I cant find anything online.
In my New Years' organizing spree today, I decided to split my Lightroom catalog into two separate catalogs. I didn't see an efficient way of doing this, so what I did was copy my entire catalog into a new catalog, and then I deleted (from disk) the ones that didn't belong in the respective catalog. After I deleted a few "catalog A" photos from catalog B, I double-checked catalog A to make sure I wasn't totally deleting them. . .only to later find out that I was only looking at a thumbnail. So now ALL of my photos are deleted, and I can't figure out how to restore them.
I used Time Machine to restore yesterday's version of Lightroom 4 lrcat. I created a new catalog--trying to start fresh--tried to import the photos from LR 4 lrcat. I have thumbnails, but on each it says "the file named x is offline or missing."
I also have a LR 3 catalog which houses the bulk of my years of photos since I just upgraded to LR4 a month or so ago. I tried restoring that from Time Machine as well but was unsuccessful in getting anything more than a picture that says "the file named x is offline or missing."
Although I am hopeful because I do use Time Machine, I do have a foreboding feeling because at some point when I deleted over 1000 images, I got a message that said that this action could not be undone because I was doing it to 1000+ images.
I am using LR 4.3. Using OS X 10.8.2. I am using some RAW files, others from earlier years are JPGs.
I accidentally changed the line weight halfway through my drawing, and many of the lines are printing fat! I know about displaying them on screen, that is not my issue. The fatter lines are not specific to any layers, so in the layer dialogue box all line weights are listed as default. How can I change the lightweights after the fact, without redrawing the whole thing. Also, any line that I add to the drawing is still fat. I am using 2012 Autocad.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have somehow managed to place items from my 2D layout sketch onto multiple planes in the Z axis. Again, this was on accident. I have not clue how I managed to do this.
How can I remedy this? Is there a way to project one plane onto the other, and then delete the original to get all of the features back on the same plane? What keystrokes must I have hit to cause this to happen?

1. Does Lightroom have a function against accidentally deleting of files or pictures?
2. What about synchronisation? Can I use Lightroom on two computers, I mean when I work on the one computer, will all changes be available and visible on the other computer?

4. Does Lightroom have a back-up function?
5. Can Lightroom recognize faces of people so that the software finds all photos of the same person?
I am a Lightroom 4 user and I have accidentally deleted the catalog AND the backup folder. I am completely panicking -- is there a way to restore my catalog?

I try to setup Photoshop on my computer an error message pops up saying that an error has occured during the setup with a bunch of numbers. I've tried every possible format just about for the logo to be saved as. Even in the browser preview mode in save for web, it looks horrible. I'm needing this logo to be saved as jpeg, png, or something relative.
I'm having some problems properly opening an Illustrator Template file in CS3 that I saved when I was using CS5 (I use CS6 now). My co-worker uses CS3 and can't open the template I made using CS5. I haven't found an option anywhere to be able to downsave the template file to an earlier version. allow my co-worker to open the template file without having any compatibility issues?

It always gives me this message after I've gone through the process: "Photoshop file could not be saved" no matter what the settings are. This means I have to use the eps file that was provided which is not nearly large enough and when I try and resize it ... what a mess

I'm trying to customise my drawing templates to keep them up to date and also include accountability.I seem to be having trouble in including the name of the person who has last saved the model, and the date the model was last saved.
Manually including this information isn't ideal as people will forget, and it makes it harder to trace revisions.I can't see anywhere on the iProperties where the 'Last saved by' feature is available, but I thought maybe the information could be pulled from the username from the application options?
The last saved date should be easy, as there is a modified date in the model's iproperties; however, I cannot pull this information.I have used other cad packages in the past and this was never an issue. With all the customisation of Inventor, I thought this would be relatively straight forward.
I have a capstone lab project due tomorrow for my graphic arts class and I made a HUGE mistake!!! I created an image using 20 something layers and did SAVE AS as a .xcf image (with all layers open). Part of the project was to save in different formats: .xcf (with open layers), a .png, and a .jpeg (optimized). So, I did the first save and then flattened the image to SAVE AS a .png with a different file name.
Long story short, I was tired and had way too many images open at once. When I was closing all of the images I accidentally saved the changes (flatten image) to my original .xcf (with open layers)!!!! Now, my .xcf that is supposed to have open layers only has one layer...the finished project!! I tried going to the file properties to restore a previous version, but it says that no previous versions were found! I also downloaded a norton "unerase" utility, but maybe I am not scanning properly to locate the file!?!
When a raw file badge shows that the file has been changed, I use Metadata Save to File & for the large majority of my images, the badge goes away and Metadata Status Changed does not show the file. For some of my files, however, the Save to File command doesn't work properly. If I am only displaying files with changes, the file briefly disappears, then returns. Even if I go to Windows Explorer and delete the xmp file, then again Save metadata to file, it pops up again with the badge saying it needs to be saved. I'm using Lightroom 4.3 64 bit on Windows 7.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am having a weird problem with some files I'm getting from a third party. They are created in CS4, then saved to EPS v.10. I need the text in the file to remain live, but every time it gets saved to EPS 10, it gets outlined. URL....
I have been able to verify that ligatures is sometimes the culprit, but I think there's something in the way this one person is creating the files that's causing the problem. I've opened hundreds of EPS 10 files from other users that have live type. Yet when I take this one person's original AI file and down-save it, the text gets outlined.
It's a very simple file - no transparency or other red flags that I can see. At first I thought maybe it was just the font, but I have used the same font in tests, and down-saved to v.10, with no text outlining.
