Illustrator :: CC No Longer Shows Up In Windows 7 Programs Menu
Feb 11, 2014I signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud, so that I could evaluate the latest version of Illustrator and Photoshop. I downloaded and installed Illustrator, however my computer crawled after the install. So I had to do a System Restore back to before the download and install of Illustrator.
After the System Restore, I again downloaded and installed Illustrator. The program showed up in the programs menu. I then downloaded and installed Photoshop and Dreamweaver. But after that, two separate versions of Photoshop show up - regular and 64 bit (I only downloaded and installed one version of Photoshop), and Dreamweaver. Illustrator no longer shows up in the Windows 7 Programs menu. How is this possible???
I looked in C:Program Files, and a 342MB Illustrator CC file is there. But I cannot find a .exe file in that file, and so cannot start Illustrator.
Worse still, when I try to download and install Illustrator once again, Adobe Creative Cloud shows me as having downloaded and installed it already, and that it is working perfectly - which is of course, NOT TRUE! Creative Cloud will accordingly not allow me to download and install Illustrator again! So while Creative Cloud thinks I have a worling version of Illustrator CC to try out and evaluate, I in fact do not!
What happened, and why the version installed in Program Files folder is not showing up i the Programs Menus of Windows 7, and or what I can do to get Illustrator to start up.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Scale Shows A Question Mark
Jun 4, 2012As far as I know it does not happen all the time, it had just started. I checked another drawing and I did not run into this problem. The "Pre" image is when first inserting in the block into the drawing. The other two images are that after the drop down option of scale has been changed and when exploding the block and attempting to manually change it to the correct way.

Illustrator :: How To Automatically Add Certain Mark At Certain Place In The File
May 29, 2012My job is making PDFs "ready for print" - checking colours, making sure overprint is on where needed, adding trapping where needed, etc. After I'm done doing this, I add a logo outside of the printable area as proof that I have checked the file and it's OK for print and the date. This is always on the same spot: 5mm left from the left edge of the design and 5mm below the lower edge.
Right now, I have to keep the Illustrator file with the logo/date open at all times, go there, copy the image, go back to the design I was working on, paste it and enter the values manually to be sure it's in the right place (and then edit the date, of course).
It's time consuming and I was wondering if there's a way to make Illustrator place the logo and date on a pre-determined location without having to keep the file open. I can't just make an action that "places" the file there because then, I can't edit the date anymore.

I need to make a 'zipper' and even the most simple line with cross perpendicular lines at regular spaces would do the trick for me. It's rather tedious to try to make these on a random direction path, but I need to know, is it possible to make a stroke that does this?

Jul 20, 2012It was working fine. Then I just did a simple command (pattern a part) and the entire workspace blinked out. The first time it happened I hit UNDO and it was back. So I got out of the drawing and got back in and tried the pattern again. Same issue but this time when I hit UNDO it would not come back. I closed the file without saving and when I went back in the file the workspace is still nothing but white screen. In the browser everything is still visible except for those that I had already changed to invisible. I tried making an invisible to visible and nothing happened. I got out and tried opening the "old version" which should've been before any of this happened and it is also blank. I can go to an ipt or iam in the browser and hit open and it will open in another screen just fine. I just can't see my main assembly. I have Inventor 2012. It shows no errors or messages. I have even rebooted.
I looked thru the forum and found a past issue back in 2005 identical. I tried doing Find in Window on an item in the browser but for some reason that option is not even in the list when I right click.
Illustrator :: Invisible Hands For Clock Holding Tick Mark As PNG
Aug 5, 2013I am making the hands of a clock with tick marks held in a particular spot with an invisible bounding box. When I export as a png the bounding box disappears and all I have is the tick mark. Maybe a boundindg box isn't the correct description? I have made the hand using the rectangle shape with no fill and no line. The tick mark is contained within this space. But somehow when it is exported using png the invisible containment disappears. I need that to hold my tick mark in place as the hand goes around the clock.

When I disable it, it dissapears. I find this strange because to me the opposite sounds more logical.

May 7, 2013I'm using .AI CS6. I am trying to type something and the font color is set to black. But only shows up grey. But all other colors work fine. Document color is set to RGB, not CMYK, or Greyscale. I'm totally at a loss... My customer is needing this tomorrow. So a really fast correct reponse would be FANTASTIC. Been woring on this artboard for a little over an hour and can't do what I need done. I open new Artboards and the same problem persists..

The letter 'k' is a lot smaller for some reason, when in fact all the elements have the same font size.

The svg looks right to me, and not sure why this happens in Illustrator...but I'm not an expert on svgs and may be wrong.

After an external backup drive had its partition deleted we used recovery software to get as many files back as possible. It sorted the files by types but gave them all numbers for names. Using bridge to preview the illustrator files, most show a thumbnail, some just a small illustrator icon. When I try to open the files, some open no problems.
Some of the files are collections of vector art (multiple clipart in one file). In the preview that Bridge shows, the file is complete and all art is there. When I try to open some of these files, I get error messages like:
"Can't open the illustration. The illustration contains an illegal operand.
##.####.##
%##.####.####.###.....etc."
And when I click "OK" the file is either missing some of the artwork or it is completely blank. How does the preview show the complete file and when opened it's either missing elements or blank?

Feb 27, 2014I get an error telling me that in order to access help, I need to be connected to the internet. I AM connected to the internet (otherwise, I would not be able to post this question). All I am trying to figure out is where in the heck "Text Wrap" moved to since I cannot find it under "Window" or "Text," but realizing I have NO access to help in the program suddenly made THAT the bigger issue here. Do I need to trash my preferences file or something? I'm on a Mac, running Mountain Lion, Illustrator CS6.
