The loading of the preset "Rich Content PDF" failed.I Choose Edit > Adobe PDF Presets. I Click Import, and I select the "Rich Content PDF.joboptions" file.
But I have an error message (Impossible to copy the PDF preset).
when exporting a PDF with hyperlinked slices from Illustrator, i choose the Rich Content PDF option. but when i open the PDF with Acrobat or Preview (i'm on a Mac), the hyperlinks are gone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several Illustrator JavaScripts that I've written with the ESTK. A lot of these scripts involve resizing the artboard or artwork to specific sizes. Instead of forcing the user to manually input the dimensions they want into text fields, I just stored a half-dozen or so "presets" in an array.
Then they can select one of the presets from a dropdownlist, or go ahead and input a custom size. These presets are the same for multiple "resize" scripts, so it would be nice to store those presets in a separate file (i.e. presets.jsx) that my resize scripts could reference, so when I need to add or change a preset, I could just go to that one shared file, and all the scripts would be updated.
Is it possible to do that? If it is, a quick example of how to load the variables from another file.
I'm using CS5. In PS, when you go File > New and then try to save a new document preset, in the "Include In Saved Settings" group, there's a checkbox named "Content".
The tooltip for this checkbox says "Include initial document content in preset". What does this actually means? The document is empty, since it hasn't been created yet. So what is the "initial document content" it is referring to?
I am having a bumper sticker printed in mass quantities. The sticker is black with with large white text. My problem started when I exported my ai file to a PDF and the black came out gray. I then exported as a jpeg and found the same grey result. After searching online I found that pure black is not 100K, and it seems to be a mixture of all the CMYK colors. Well I adjusted the colors to make a rich black blend and when I saved it as a jpeg the black displayed as intended. However when i exported the same ai file as a PDF the black still looks grey. Will the pdf print pure black even though it doesnt display that way on screen?
View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since upgrading to CS6, when I click Levels>Load preset, I can no longer search in the window for the file. Previously, I could type in the file name and it would come up and I would select it. Now, when I search for the file name, there are no results at all. The file can be found by doing a regular search in a Finder window, but not through the window that comes up from the Levels window. I've reindexed Spotlight, and that has had no effect. The workaround is to open a Finder window, search, find the file, drag the file into the Levels' load window and select it there.
View 4 Replies View RelatedArt brushes are showing a grey version of what should be a Rich Black RGB 0, 0, 0,. Furthermore, expanding the art brush stroke and sampling the color shows the strokes "Black" is actually: 32,32,32, pre-expansion the RGB sample shows the stroke is 0,0,0.

Display all Blacks, print all Blacks=Rich Black
Options for Art Brush show art brush swatch is Rich Black but using eyedropper (within brush options window) and sampling preview stroke CHANGES swatch preview from Rich Black to Grey.
I have been using Illustrator for a couple of years now and from time to time I encounter very strange behavior when manipulating a vector shape.I have a current example here where I simply want to create a combined shape using the pathfinder tool:
As you can see, the generated shape (red) does not cover the original shape (green).When I use the path selection tool, I am able to reposition the first anchor but when I do the same for the lower anchor as well the entire shape is replaces a few pixel to the left. Even using the "align" tool afterwards is not useful. It seems impossible to make the red shape cover the green one.
I've had this problem before, and it randomly popped up again today.
This time restarting Ai fixed the issue the first time. I just don't know if this was human-error/setting on my end, or a minor bug to report.
So I create a CMYK Ai doc. Create some black text and/or shapes. Then decide to change color to rich black by manually entering CMYK values (in this case, 60, 40, 40, 90), select ok. However, the colors revert back to original percentages (75, 68, 67, 90).
In past versions, it's happened once or twice, and restarting Ai didn't solve the first time.
When I load an image either a jpeg or psd file then make a layer copy I am unable to apply a preset action to this. Either a default action or one of my own on a Mac OSX running Lion. This did not present a problem in CS5 and I am wondering if I've missed something basic?

View 3 Replies View RelatedA client has asked a question that seems strange to me regarding rich blacks in images. They want to be able to change blacks in an image that might be 80 80 80 100 to 30 30 30 100. My thought would be that they would just change the ink limit to what the printer has recommended. They could also reduce the black value in curves, but to get their limits would look strange. Before I go back and state my opinion, I would love to hear from some printers to see if they have any other opinions. They are not trying to mix colours to put them into InDesign.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI used to have my actions set up so i could easily save PDFs with different pdf presets, depending what the work was for (print, magazine ad with bleed, newspaper ad without bleed etc).
Now when I try CS6 and set up these actions in Illustrator it seems like the action wont use the preset I set it up with, and just defaults to the last one used.
Is there something I'm missing or is this indeed a flaw in CS6? Its pretty time-saving for me so it would be a big deal-breaker upgrading to CS6.
I use Illustrator CC.I have made a custom Image Tracing Preset and want to use it on a folder containing a sequence of pictures I want all to vectorize automatically. Programming an Action isn't an option as the Action recorder doesn't record which tracing preset is used for image tracing. I found I can use the pre-installed Image Tracing Script [URL] in which I only need to specify the correct number of the Image Tracing Preset. And that became a big problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that I am converting RGB native images to CMYK and my Key (Black) comes out rich, contains equal levels of CMY and K, instead of true black, only k.
Currently my way around this is to do the standard convert to profile CMYK and with my path selected to the section I would like to be true black simply turn off all CM and Y channels and re-save the image but this is a little labor intensive.
Is there a way that I can go straight from RGB to CMYK and achieve true black without alteration?

Wondering what techniques, or actions anyone uses to achieve the rich and saturated colors that I see in many images.
When I've messed around with saturation in my images I often wind up jacking up the skin tones, among other things. I know that on one or two images I can isolate the areas that I want to saturate but on many images this is not practical. I shoot with a 20D and a variety of Canon and Sigma lens, primarily a Canon 50 1.8, 85 1.8 and Sigma 24-70 2.8 and 70-200 2.8.
I am trying to use a file of data that have 1.8 million of points, and is rally difficult with Autocad Civil 3D, the fiel open with the Autocad, but when I try to erase some of that points, the software is freeze.
for example:
the picture attached contains a lot of points with one blue line, the points on the blue line are the points that I am interesting, and the other points are the points that I want to erase.
My old computer is dead. I just can't insubscribe my version af CS3. And so, i can't re install it on my new PC.Is it possible to find a way to insubscribe my further PC on line ? Or what else?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently working on the schematics of a quite big document and I am using Illustrator. I work on the .ai version of the figures but I want to save them in a very quick way as pdf files with personal setting (super compression, no preview...). What I am doing now is that I have my .ai file open, and when I want to save a pdf version of it I go to "File" then "Save a copy" then "Type: pdf" and I enter a name, I click on "Save" and a window pops up with some options. Here, I select a personal preset and then click on "Save pdf" and I am happy with the final saved pdf.
The thing is that it is a quite long process when you have to do it several times per figure. I tried to automatized it through a script (or action) but the available options are quite limited (it is hard to make Illustrator understand that if the current file is myfig.ai, I want a myfig.pdf and that I want to save it in the working folder). Under "File", I also tried the "SaveDocsAsPdf" script but once again, I have to select the folder where I want to save the figure and so on. Maybe I missed something. Any efficient way to save my figures as pdf by clicking a the F9 key (for instance).
It has recently become impossible to control the type cursor in Photoshop (also Illustrator and InDesign) so that I cannot select anything with any accuracy.
To begin with nothing on the first line of text can be selected at all and deeper into the text it is not possible to select a singe line of text or a single word or letter. The cursor simply selects in a totally erratic way selecting blocks of text.Therefore it is not possible to edit any text.
I'm trying to convert an existing VBA routine to a vb.Net dll. One of the functions is inserting and scaling an existing tif image file into a blank AutoCAD 2010 drawing. I've searched and found just a few examples, but they all seem horrifically complicated . Am I missing the simple way of doing this, or is this an example of the seemingly massive learning curve of .Net that is beginning to remind me of my collegiate C class (shudder)?

I can't find a way to import an .icc into my GIMP work.
I want to do this so that the pictures on my computer monitor match as closely as possible to the prints from my local (high-end) print shop. My screen is Spyder calibrated.
I'm trying;
Image >>> Mode >>> Convert To Colour Profile >>> (and then from the pop-up box) >>> Convert to ... (and then from the pop-up box) >>> Select Colour Profile From Disk
... and then I select the new .icc (provided to customers on the print shop's website) from a Downloads folder on my local drive.
That all sounds right doesn't it?
It stubbornly remains on sRGB.icc
I've also tried the process in;
Edit >>> Preferences >>> Colour Management
Same result - ignores the selection of a new .icc and remains stuck on sRGB.icc.
I'm desperately trying to colour correct for printing today.
I have encountered problems with the viewport, randomly it has been impossible to click through wireframe models on the Viewport.
It treats everything like a shaded object even when set on wireframe. This means that if I have to get to a rug in the basement I have to go through the Roof, ceiling, bedroom floor, kitchen ceiling, kitchen cabinets, kitchen floor, basement ceiling before I can get to the rug. This has become annoying because if I wanted to select a few objects I cant even click and drag because it will click on the roof and move that. The only way I can click on something is if I go in to perspective and click on it directly, and when an object has multiple pieces to it it becomes a hastle.
When I select the Synchronize option, it says there are over 295,000 images, which is impossible. 15 to 20,000 at most. So I never start it, cause I'm afraid of what it's trying to catalog. Why would it be giving me such a number?

where can i find the files that contain this preset to back up?
1. How do i restore a deleted preset from the Image Trace drop down panel. I accidentally deleted one of them and would like to restore it.... naturally . Is there anyway short of doing a complete reinstall?
2. I notice that when I scan some art, i get a double path. Meaning there's a path on both sides of the inked line. How do I get it to make one line/path for the inked line? IOW a single path with its thickness defined by the stroke weight.
I'm searching an external RTF-Editor which is quicker then "MS Word" and better then the internal editor. Some applications use this RTF-modules.
Can one of these used by Autocad?
