I have a state map that is made up individual vector files of each county in the state. They are grouped together. I want to make it seem as if though there is more space between each of the counties as if there they've all been separated just a little bit more than. Is there a way I can do this efficiently in Illustrator? I'm working in CS 6 on a mac.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am extremely new at Corel Draw X5. I am in the middle of a design; page 30cmx160cm (for printing purposes) however to make it easier my design is sitting 160cmx30cm
I have started the design consisting of 200+ objects. By grouping them i presumed that it would make one object and when I rotated them 90 degrees to fit the page they would rotate in the same they sat originally.
But when I rotate the group it rotates the individual objects on their individual axis not on a group axis.
Is there anyway getting around this without moving each individual object?
In cs6 if I have two objects in a group I just select one and move it. In CC it moves all of the objects in a group.

This wasn't a problem in previous versions, but now when I select more than one clip (or grouped objects), the effect controls go away. I have a lower third (the title and 2 different cropped color mattes) that I want to be able to move and resize while maintaining their relationship, and I can't figure it out. I've been using Premiere for a long time, and this is a huge inconvenience. I also cannot highlight multiple clips, and adjust their length together. Sometimes it will work (rarely), but most of the time it will only adjust one at a time. It's a real nuissance when you have upwards of ten layers you need to adjust together.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI need to find a way to add "perspective" to grouped objects that include a bitmap and other drawn objects. I can convert everything to a bitmap in needed. What I need this for is I engrave this grouped artwork onto drinking glasses and I have to adjust the artwork for the differences in the diameter of the glass. I need to be able to set the width of the top of the artwork with a numeric value and the bottom with a different numeric value.
An example of the problem with the engraving is that if I wanted to engrave a one inch square half way down the glass I would have to make the top of the square 1.1 inches wide and the bottom of the square 1.2 inches (the math is not right with this example) so a trapezoid turns into a square once engrave on the tapered glass.
The image below shows a sample of the artwork I need to engrave. The right side image is an exaggerated example of what the artwork would need to look like to work right once engraved. I could only adjust the black ring but not the text or image in the center. The third image is to show a trapezoid.
I have problem with publishing my work in PDF. I have vector background (in thin stripes like) and several polygonal bitmap objects on it but in the PDF-file everything under the bitmap objects is bitmap also... And the stripes (of my background) are very ugly and jagged - part vector, part bitmap...
Could I complete that work correctly in CDR or have to search some other resolution?

I have figured out how to create and use a custom graphic for this. However, no matter what size circle I create, it seems to default back to the size of what the square was.

I'm using scatter brush to draw multiple lines with random size and angle(image 1.), and trying to increase only the horizontal size(image 2.), keeping the interval the same. But when I do, the interval is also increased since 'Spacing' option follows the size of the base object. I could adjust and decrease the spacing value, but the problem is, spacing option cannot go below 1%. So if want to increase the line size and maintain the interval, there's no way to do it. expending then scaling could work, but that's not what I want.

I'm working with AutoCAD Architecture 2011 and working in the xref. I have my layer states set up, no problem. However, I have a layer that still shows up in all states even tho it is not saved in the layer states. If i click on it, it shows as off. It is a block, I have it on the ByLayer and the correct layer.

In the kind of bulk work I'm doing, its really turning into an hours burner.
The specific process I'm using (I've tried several different ways with the same result)
1) Draw my art
2) Group the art
3) Create a new color group with my art selected.
4) Double click the color group and recolor.
5) Save the swatches ----- so far so good
6) Double Click a different color group (or select from the Recolor panel) -- here the other color group (swatches) get applied, but every time I do it, the order of which color is applied to
With Visibility States there appears to be only 4 options:
Hide for current state.Show for current state.Hide for all statesShow for all states.
I need a 5th option... Do not change visibility when this state is set current.
So, in other words, I'd like to turn objects on or off independently from each other... so lets say I have two sets of objects... I want to toggle on only the 3rd item in set A and only the 5th item set B... but each set would function separately from the other set.

Is possible enable/disable a state set everytime I change a scene state?
I have over 100 blocks that I need to add the exact same objects and visibility state to. Is there a way to globally make this change, or even to copy the visibility states from one block to the next without having to recreate the states in each block? I thought I had previously run across a routine on here that would make changes to multiple blocks at once, but I can't seem to find it now.

Here is what she would like to accomplish:
There is one word (type) in the front and an object in the back (z-index below the type) that object will move forward to disperse the word/type but retain their shapes; meaning she does not want the type (the individual letters) to fall completely apart. View 3 Replies View RelatedThere are 3 elements there. the top of the clap board was placed before i started tryinbg to create the slanted dashes that are on the average clapboards. The white dash was skewed using Object > Transform > Shear. Then i attempted to rotate it to fit.
I need 4 of these skwed white squares / trapezoids on the top along with 4 to match on the top of the larger potion of the clapboard. I do not want to eye it as it will be a part of a logo.
What would be the best method to use?Is there a way to draw the 4 rectangles on top of a perfectly horizontal long black rectangle and skew the white dashes at the same time?Is there a way to skew based on the dimensions of the longer black rectangle?
When I use the 'Copy with Basepoint' command from the clipboard and paste the results into another drawing, all of the grouped items become ungrouped.
Is there a way of preserving grouped geometry when copying from one drawing and pasting to another?
I've got quite a few items grouped into a div (images, text and div boxes). However, when I scale the group on the timeline, nothing happens. I'm expecting the whole group to scale but only a blue outline box scales.
To provide some clarity, I have an image of a map with text labels and some boxes that I want to uniformly scale to simulate a pan and zoom effect. I can pan no problem, but am unable to get the content to zoom.
I'm a developer, and a lot of times, marketing companies send me some material for their applications in .psd (Photoshop) files. My usage is basic: just open these files, get some layer and export to web images. For this purpose, I bought Photoshop Elements 10, but then I realized (after bought it) that it cannot open grouped layers (only merge all layers in group in a single layer). I'll not discuss about the lack of this basic feature, we already have a lot of noise around it.
My question is: is this limitation still present on PSE 11? Or now I can open grouped layers on psd files?
