when i try and scatter an object to a plane. the plane picks up the objects material/color and scatter the object as well. How do I scatter without changing the plane's color?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a vertically rectangular frame with internal frame elements at two separate levels based off offset work planes.
The lowest internal plane is offset up from the XZ plane and the highest internal plane is offset up from that lower plane. In hindsight I should have based that second plane also off of XZ, or off the height extents plane at the top of the rectangular box.
So that top third section of the box CAN be sized with a little math, but if I change the lower 2/3 of the rectangle it's going to want to follow that lowest internal plane (which I can tweak again to get what I want)...is there a way to just change the source of that higher internal planes source plane? Like switching it to XZ or the height extents?
In Inventor 2013 the work and origin plane back color is missing or transparent on one of my workstations. The borders are present. Planes funtion normally.
I have tried different color schemes and have have edited the registry <workplanebackcolor> value , to no avail.
I also updated to SP2, just in case.
I have attached a screenshot of the origin axes.
I've read articles and viewed videos on how to use the scatter or shatter effect but it isn't quite what she is looking to accomplish.
Here is what she would like to accomplish:
There is one word (type) in the front and an object in the back (z-index below the type) that object will move forward to disperse the word/type but retain their shapes; meaning she does not want the type (the individual letters) to fall completely apart. She just wants to send them out in every direction.

I'm looking for a script for scattering proxies on a surface or along a spline. In previous versions of Max I used Peter Watje Scatter. But itdoesn't seem to be available for 2012.
I don't have enough use for it to justify buying Carbon scatter or multiscatter and I find render farms don't tend to have these plugins anyway. Forest Pack lite only works on flat surfaces.
I have a state map that is made up individual vector files of each county in the state. They are grouped together. I want to make it seem as if though there is more space between each of the counties as if there they've all been separated just a little bit more than. Is there a way I can do this efficiently in Illustrator? I'm working in CS 6 on a mac.

I have figured out how to create and use a custom graphic for this. However, no matter what size circle I create, it seems to default back to the size of what the square was.
Is there any way to customize the size of the graphic objects used in the scatter chart?
I am using the Color Exchange feature in Gimp 2. I am trying to change a red background to black. The Color Exchange feature allows me to do that, however, it comes out with only part of the color changed and it all very blotchy.

I'm using scatter brush to draw multiple lines with random size and angle(image 1.), and trying to increase only the horizontal size(image 2.), keeping the interval the same. But when I do, the interval is also increased since 'Spacing' option follows the size of the base object. I could adjust and decrease the spacing value, but the problem is, spacing option cannot go below 1%. So if want to increase the line size and maintain the interval, there's no way to do it. expending then scaling could work, but that's not what I want.
I take pictures of my fountain pens and mechanical pencils using a light box and a digital camera. Naturally, the backround is white. I would like to be able to change this white color to something else on occasion but don't know how to go about it in Photoshop. I am NOT a power user. I use Photoshop CS5 64 bit.
Keep in mind that sometimes there is also white in the pen in places and I do not want to change anything at all on the color of the pen.

Let me explain,
If I were to have 50 different BMPs of the American flag, and what I needed to do, was to open them up and change all the "red" stripes to "green," It would be terribly time consuming to open up every single bmp, and use the paint bucket to click on each "red" area individually, making it green.
It would be nice, if, say, I could open up one of the bmps, and perform some type of function that basically says "Take all of the "red" in this picture and make it "green" immedietly" or something of that nature.
And it would be even nicer, to open up all 50 bmps simutaneously and perform a function that says "See all of these bmps? I want to turn any red, in ALL of them, to green, now"

I want to change brown to blue and I want it to look realistic.
So I was wondering if there are any good techniques OR photoshop plugins designed specificaly for this.
Whenever I try to change eye color(following the directions of numerious tutorials.)It always ends up looking fake and unrealistic.
One reason is because the majority of blue eye's have numerous other colors in them like white and other shades of blue,while brown eyes are completly solid brown.
I have an example here of what I did,I took a photo of a brown eye It's the top left,and tried using all of what I know to make it blue.The result is the top right,It does not look realistic as I want it to look.I spent about 10 minutes on it and it's the best I can do.I even went and speckled it with numerous other colors to give it the "blue eye effect".But it still looks photoshoped.
The ones labled no.1,no.2 and no.3 are all examples of what real blue eye's should look like.1 being solid blue,2 being solid blue with a glaze on it and 3 being blue speckled with white and other shades of blue.
I want to be able to convert solid brown eyes to a realistic blue.

Also, I just purchased a Nikon D70s and will be using it to take headshots of actors & actresses. Some will want color pictures, but some will also want b&w pictures. Will the process be the same when converting the images from color to b&w as it was for film? Will the quality be better?
Please be as detailed as possible. I'm using Photoshop CS to do all my photo editing, and I'm still not sure of the techniques. I haven't played around with it enough, but if I can get some suggestions I know they will lead me in the right direction.
