Illustrator :: Editing PDF And Draw On Top Of Imported Image
Aug 22, 2012
I took a snapshot of a picture off my pdf file and opened it up in illustrator and now it has the circle with the slash through it, how can i edit it and draw on top of the imported image?
I am trying to modify a bar graph that I have imported as a pdf from excel, and am having some trouble with customizing the color fill on the bars of the bar graph. When I select the object/bar and then fill with a different color, I see no change. However the menu shows the new color I selected for that particular object. Is there something weird about the type of object that the bar is when it is imported from excel?
OK I figured out that for some reason the bars on the bar graph are imported as clipping masks - very weird, you need to release the clipping mask, deselect the bar, select and delete the background shading, then fill the bar (which was previously the mask, I believe?) Why excel exports like this?
I notice something similar with the imported text labels associated with the same graph. When I select the text and change the font size, for some strange reason it can size up (say, from 10pt to 12pt) but not down (day, from 10pt to 8pt) It seems weird when I try to edit it at all really, as if the element was not a text element, is there some way to convert it to a text object? Ok this is working properly now, don't know why it was wonky before.
I have a rectangle over a larger imported image, and I would like to get rid of the area that the ractangle covers. Clipping mask does the opposite, getting rid of the area outside, and pathfinder only works for paths, not imported images.
I made a simple poster using photoshop to make the background and illustrator to make the fonts and some other stuff. In CMYK my black is just 100% K ( in photoshop)
When placing image in illustrator the 100% K (black) changes to different black with C M Y added. But then when I save it as PDF the preview shows black as a bit grey (which is something normal- in print it will be just black). So my question is .. should I change enything just to be able to see a 100% K in illustrator in order to match CMYK values of Photoshop? Or should I leave it this way? I guess if I am getting a "grey" in PDF preview is something good isn'it? because in photoshop when I set to 100%K in my screeen it looks like grey and not total black.
Previously i`m using version 2009 and importing Google earth image and surface works fine. However, recently i tried with version 2010 and i`m having some problem here (imported surface / contour seems ok but the image is too large like 3x or 4x). How to solve that?
Can parts of an Illustrator brush be removed or erased where they overlap on an angle. Obviously straight portions are not a problem and can be handled by moving the anchor point of the path. However, I have created a pattern brush with 6 parallel lines and I am designing a typeface for a Typography class. There are areas where the brush lines overlap.
I have a relatively simple mass modeled in Rhino that I imported to a Revit Mass Family (via .sat file). I then placed walls, roofs, structure on the face of this mass. However I would like to be able adjust this mass, either in Rhino or Revit and the walls and structure adjust accordingly. Now however, if I reload the mass into my Revit family, and then reload the family to my model, and then attempt to Update to Face, the error "Faces defining this Element cannot be reacquired." and my only option is to delete the offending wall/roof etc.
Is this just a limitation in Revit/Rhino, or am I totally doing it wrong?
Im still new to Civil 3D and i would like to know how to connect inported points using 3D polylines. I imported my points from Excel in a PNEZD format. How do i get the 3d poly line to snap to my points so I can Connect them? someone mentioned using a feature line to connect the points but im not sure how or what that would do.
i used photoshop to design the website sliced it with image ready and imported as html..but then i check out the website some of the image is pixelated..how can i fix it.to view it as the same thing as i see it in photoshop while designing?
I work for a Transit Agency and I am creating new scheduling brochures along with maps. I have attached an image of the brochure so that you can see what is going on. I created the maps using Paint.Net. The schedule was created in Microsoft Excel. When I tried to copy and paste it directly from Excel to Paint.net, it wouldn't allow me to do it. So, what I did was take the Excel spreadsheet and copy/paste it to regular Microsoft Paint and saved it as a picture, then using Paint.net under layers tab / import image , it transferred it to my map, however if you look closely the wording is a little blurry and the column on the far right is really blurry.
is there any way to fix this, or would there be an easier approach of transferring it to my map using Paint.net and by-passing Microsoft Paint ?
I'm importing two separately made images to Photoshop; both made from Sketchbook Pro on the i Pad. One is a background, the other is just a doodle. (background)
(original doodle)
What I've done so far is use "Color Range..." to remove just the black, then apply the "Darken" effect within the Layers Palette.(current view)
What I must know is how to use my doodle layer as a mask; to use the texture from the background image in the doodles brush strokes, but not be seen in the areas that used to be black.
I aim to use this effect in many kinds of imported images made from my i Pad, as well as handwritten graphics. I trust this would be very simple to use with actual typed-out text, but I'm having difficulty to find pre-existing solutions.
I'm a Corel Draw x4 user and many times I import jpeg or png in corel to trace manually a photograph or a scan.
My problem is the images that come in, appear in really low resolution, although if I export them of course they are fine.
This is a pain as sometimes clients sent already bad quality pictures and I end up trying very hard to understand an image inside corel, even when having a windows image viewer side by side with corel...
Is there any option to show imported images at a 100% quality or something?
I'am having an Image in Revit but don't have the Image separately but I need it. How can I get that from Revit. I've tried Export-Image&Animation-Image but the view only get exported.
I have been given an incomplete plan view of a site with access roads and have been asked to extend the roads to meet up with a main road off site. Not having any survey points I figure the most accurate thing to do was to screenshot a Google map image, import it into my drawings and trace it. I'm struggling to scale the map image to my existing drawings.
The problem I'm having is when i click the image to scale, it obscures the view of the drawing, so I can't see anything to reference. Is there a way to make the image transparent? Or to have it permanently at the back.
I've got an image I'm trying to make my wallpaper thats a 1024 x 768 image. My screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 so if I use the image and use the "fill" option to have the image fit my background perfectly it won't fit and some stuff gets cut off. I have to use the "fill" option instead" of "fit" which gives it borders kind of like of how I want because I'm rotating wallpapers and this is the only one that doesn't work under "fill"
What I want to do is just import my image into gimp and then add some paint on the right and left outside the image to make it wider so it would fit as my background without some stuff getting cut out.
Is there a way to import an image into gimp and then add some paint outside the image and then save the new image with the paint outside the original image onto my hard drive?
I have a 3ds model of a golf ball I purchased. It imports properly into my Photoshop CC. I haven't been able to figure out how to apply an image (my logo) to the surface of the golf ball. Also, the golf ball has a dimpled surface so I will want the image to follow the contours of the ball, as if it would look if the logo were painted onto a real golf ball.
EDIT: Also, I want to keep the golf ball as a 3d object so I can animate it in a scene.
I have an imported image that needs a 50px black frame with hard edges on the _outside_ of the image.I have found solutions but they do not have mitered corners.I cannot use the canvas size to accomplish this as the canvas contains other objects.
In CS6 Bridge it shows an image that has been first time imported and put thru raw and photoshop. that the process version is 6.7. Should that not read 7.1. Images taken on canon EOS 450D
PSPro X. Any easiest way to compose an image comprised of 2 imported pictures.I want to have an image made up from 2 jpeg photos and have the two alongside each other, ie one of the bride on the left side and one of the groom taking up the other half of the finished image on the right side.
I am importing images saved in both Raw and JPEG format at the time of capture. There seems to be a color shift - toward green for the JPEGS and red for the Camera Raw images. Why is this happening?
