View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to use adobe illustrator to color the background of a photograph green while keeping the person in the picture the same color.
I used live trace to get a vector image and then attemped to use live pain to finish the job, but I end up with thousands of blue lines and gaps that are too small to color in. Is there anyway i can reduce the number of gaps so that i can actually paint the background?
I've already tried the gap options and adjusting the settings to small medium or large did nothing. If this isn't possible, is there any other feature in adobe illustrator that would allow me to achieve my goal?
I have a photograph with a person in the middle; i want the person to remain the same and the background to be changed to green.
I'm using gimp 2.6 on ubuntu. i have some pictures i would like to enhance.
There's that image image 1
and i would like to make it look like image 2
As you can see the second image uses only about 7 or 8 different colors and the outer lines are nice and smooth not stuttering.
Is there a way how i can change the first image to something like the second one, maybe something like replace 10 different colors which are similar to each other with only 1?
I tried and played with the options (bucketfill, posterise, or the cartoon option from artistic menu, increase contrast, brightness etc...
Is there an option to smoth the outer lines etc? i just want the dog, the rest of the background is not so important.
I have imported this jpeg into illustrator. How do I edit the color of the image, as in the color of the letters?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI work for a Transit Agency and I am creating new scheduling brochures along with maps. I have attached an image of the brochure so that you can see what is going on. I created the maps using Paint.Net. The schedule was created in Microsoft Excel. When I tried to copy and paste it directly from Excel to Paint.net, it wouldn't allow me to do it. So, what I did was take the Excel spreadsheet and copy/paste it to regular Microsoft Paint and saved it as a picture, then using Paint.net under layers tab / import image , it transferred it to my map, however if you look closely the wording is a little blurry and the column on the far right is really blurry.
is there any way to fix this, or would there be an easier approach of transferring it to my map using Paint.net and by-passing Microsoft Paint ?

I think I've tried everything, found something in a Maya document about reducing the hierarchy, which looked slick. The attached image should show what I mean (too many clicks on the button).

Any way to reduce the number of vertex points in a polyline or 3d polyline and retain the basic shape but without having to redraw over the top it?
Ideally, I would like any adjacent segments which are in the same direction as each other to become one segment.
In my image you can see the number of points it has, the majority of which are not necessary for my needs (it was imported from a client's drawing). My desired linetype will also not show because of this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to change colors across my entire image. Kind of like the bucket tool when it is on universal, but with a few changes. It would be able to change dark red into dark blue and also light red into light blue at the same time when the tool is used. It would scale based on the lightness of the color throughout the entire image.
I could basically choose blue, click on any red part with the tool, and then every red color (with a certain tolerance) would change into blues of the same lightness and darkness as red. I was thinking that this would be useful for changing the colors of objects that have certain shading effects or shadows in them.
I know methods of reducing number of colors to 255 or 3. However I would like to experiment with values above 255. Is there any method of doing so by exact number ? Or at least by visually checking when using sliders?

The general look will be of the sun(looks like a star) illuminating a narrow crescent of the earth. I am working on a picture, trying to adapt it for the logo. I need to change the white sunlight to be yellow/red - can't seem to isolate the colors from the mix of earth colors or black background colors they mix with. Another thing I need is to use a white background instead of the black background of the picture taken from space. Is there a way to convert all the colors that are a mix of the black background and something else to be changed to be as if the background was white?

When I resample the image, I would like to keep the colors. So if I have one pixel being e5d900 and a pixel next to it is 00a5d3, resampling the image will pick one of the colors and not something between.. or a color of the 1000 or 5000 that are on the color palette.
I am trying to turn XML data into a number that I can use in formulas in Animate. I have successfully retrieved the info from the xml file into the text on the stage. My problem is that I need to have the value of the imported data to be a number so that I can do future calculations with it, like add the two numbers together to make a new variable total. I have racked my brain reading about XML, spent several days trying obvious solutions to no avail, and yes I am new to coding although I have thoroughly tried many options.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I keep my GIFs the same colors as I created them? When I import the GIFs into GIMP the colors are changed on some of them. Are there different types of GIF (color resolutions)?
The attached GIF should have a gray border but in GIMP the border is yellow, other colors are changed too. The "PS" letters should be purple-pink but GIMP changes them to black, basically all the colors change.
I am trying to create an animated GIF and the GIFs are imported as layers
I've noticed the problem GIFS have a lower case file extension (.gif) whereas the OK images have an upper case file extension.GIF
It's OK I can simply open the lower case .gifs in MS Paint and then "save_as" which saves them as an UPPERCASE .GIF file extension and then GIMP doesn't change the colors. Problem solved but it is odd that it occurred in the first place. I wonder what was happening?
OH NO... it is still changing the colors. I think I will just do a screen grab and save that as a completely new GIF which stops the colors changing but it is a big hassle because I have about 9 images to change.
NO I STILL CAN'T FIX IT How can I stop GIMP changing the colors of imported GIF layers in a GIF animation?
When I do screenshots and copy them into Photo PAINT, PP seems to shade the colors. Why is this happening?
How can I switch off this behavior?
Here's an example of what's happening when I do a screenshot of a screenshot of a screenshot of a screenshot of a Photo PAINT desktop, always overlaying the same original empty image window upon the current screenshot step:

View 1 Replies View RelatedProbably a very simple problem, but I have just installed the program for the first time and do not yet know my way around it. But when I pull photos in from my digital camera directory, they immediately display a warmer orange hue. However, I have not touched any of the settings at all. If I immediately export the photo, it matches the original on my HD. So there seems to be some kind of calibration problem with the real jpeg colors and the colors on screen in Lightroom. What can I do about this?
FURTHER DETAILS:
When I hit IMPORT and have the photo selection window come up, all the colors are fine. When I select a photo and actually import it, the colors are orangey. Where the heck is this change of color coming from? All I have done is install the program! I haven't adjusted anything.
When I import points from a survey database there is a very large new number being assigned to points that have overlap/numbering conflicts.
I had some survey from one source that was in the 1000 pt # range & additional survey that was in same numbering sequence.
When importing the points I chose "Resolve all" it is renumbering the Point number value to the 5xxxxxxxx range?
Is there some setting where I can change this to a lower # or how/why this is happening?
Next Point Number value @ Settings Tab>Point>Commands>CreatePoints>Point Identity>Next Point Number = 3.
I've attached a couple of captions illustrating the issue.
