AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Layer Color Scheme For Different Users?

Oct 16, 2012

I am working in Civil 3d 2012.  Right now, we have about 5-6 different people using this software in the office.  Each person has their own likes/dislikes for layer colors (also for their display color).  BUT we all want to plot with the same lineweights.

What happens is the surveyor creates the drawing and existing layers (with a template).  The engineer then uses the same drawing to design and create contours.  The drafter then uses the same drawing to clean things up for final printing.  So we have roughly 3 people using the same drawing.  But the surveyor uses a black display and anything that is blue doesn't show up well, so they have it on one the lightest lineweights.  I (the drafter) use a gray display have have no problem with blue so it's one of my darker lineweights.

What I'm hoping to do is create some kind of a scheme that would allow the user to simply change the color scheme (on screen) to match their likings.  Similar to the User Interface.  For instance in User 1 scheme, Color 8 = Blue.  Then we can have multiple plot tables that would correspond to the colors.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Use VBA To Modify Color Styles

Oct 25, 2012

It is possible to change a document style color with a VBA macro or why not with iLogic ?.

I regularly imports STEP and the parts have defined colors. Unfortunately for change must clear all colors of surfaces. By cons, if you edit the styles we see that for each color there is a style with the color name.

So basically if I change a color style, all parts using this style will change.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Custom Color Scheme For Surface Elevation Display

Sep 19, 2012

I want to color cut/fill using red/greens schemes.

I want to use "interval with datum" method, and 2' intervals.

That gives like 20 rows for cut and fill, and so c3d applies one red to 5 rows, then next red to another 5, and so on.

I could pick colors by hand, but that dumb dialog is so slow, and its not easy to visually pick a nice gradation.

Is there no way to say "step from this color to that"?

Even when I do get all set up, I am finding performance of displaying the 2d solids takes forever.

I obviously have a large surface, but that is why we pay for good software right?

I am on c3d 2012 on a fast 64 bit win 7 machine. [URL]

AutoCAD Inventor :: IDW Not Showing Correct Color Styles?

Sep 5, 2012

I have not seen this issue happen in quite a while. I saw it on earlier releases pre-2013. But now after the Update2 build it seems my IDW's are not behaving properly.

Scenario:

1. Create model of a raw material (steel) stamped bracket. It receives its own part number

2. Create iam using the unpainted bracket and then assign a color (red) to represent a painted finish. This receives a  new part number due to our MFG process.

3. Create iam model using other "painted" sub assembly models (step 2 for instance). New part number.

4. Create IDW but it shows the raw material (step 1) rather than the painted model. It should show the painted

How to access the color for a particular hatch within a drawing using iLogic.

I would like to color the hatching for parts based on paramaters besides material.

ie.

Purchased parts = Green Hatch

Refrence = Grey Hatch

I would hope one could loop through the views looking for hatches, and once found, check the part they are associated with, then based on an "if then, change the hatch color and move on to the next pattern.

AutoCAD Inventor :: ILogic Access Hatch Object And Modify Color?

How do I get at the hatch objects within a drawing using iLogic?

I would like to be able to customize hatch color based on various part properties.

ie:

Purchased part = Green Hatch
Refrence = Light Grey
and much more

This would be possible if I can get to the hatch object and determin what part it is associated with.

I only see iLogic code that allows you to change visibility of all hatching, and set general hatch angle.

Since I can select a hatch in the drawing and change its color, I assume there is an un-published API object that relates to hatches

Photoshop :: Company Color Scheme For Web And Print?

Dec 17, 2012

It's good practice to keep within certain color schemes for a business.. for brand recognition etc. But my problem is i started a company, and my first stop was the logo and website. I found a color scheme which i loved on screen.. its blue (#265E81) and dark grey (#272727)

I created a website aorund these colors. I then created business cards using these colors. And invoices. And letterheads. Now to my shock, the dark grey is So unreadable when ontop of the blue when printed out. Its clear as day on screen.... any screen. But just not on print. The blue becomes ALOT darker on print.

I do have slight understanding of setting up a document for print... such as 300dpi, and CMYK etc. But it doesn't make a difference to my final print.

Is there a method that i can find the color that will look like my blue on screen.. once printed out? Im tempted to just brighten up the blue on all documents intended for print... but that doesnt seem very proffesional or standard.

how do other companies pick their color schemes. Do they test there schemes on print aswell as screens before going ahead with it? I just see companies having the exact same color whether i see it on my screen or on a printed document.

Revit :: Color Scheme Not Displaying Correctly

Jun 8, 2013

Revit 2013. I  Set up a color scheme for rooms.  colors are fine but the colors go to middle of walls (interior and exterior) even tho walls are set to room bounding.  Room and area calcs set to wall finish but in plan view and in sheet view the colors go to wall centers.  Plotting the colors override/cover wall graphics. Created a quick "dummy" project using masonry walls and it worked fine.

Also, if you link a revit file with additional rooms how do you add those to color schedule? Cant jus add room in host file - says its not properly enclosed.  putting room in the linked file doesn't seem to allow room to be read/scheduled/displayed by name/number-just shows the room X with a + sign in middle.  Adding color to linked file gets nothing but I want it controled in host anyway.

Revit :: Changing The Color In One Area Plan Scheme

May 23, 2013

I've got an issue where changing the color in one area plan scheme (future/left) removes the scheme legend from a completely separate area plan (existing/right).  Attached are the screen shots of what I'm describing.  This only happens when we change any of the colors in the future/right-hand scheme.  All we have to do to get the scheme back on the other area plan is to click on the blank box, edit and reassign the correct scheme (the only one on the list), but had we not caught this, we would have published these without the colors on the one plan, so that's problematic.  I'm wondering why--perhaps a glitch or something?

This happens in multiple users' programs.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Symbolized Line Styles On Number Of 3D Polylines In Mapping Data

Oct 24, 2012

I need to have symbolized linestyles on a number of 3D polylines in mapping data.We normally would simply explode the 3D poly's, and our linestyles display fine.

The linestyles also display fine if we change the 3D polylines to polylines.HOWEVER, with the current dataset we have very high point density on our 3D polylines, and we need to preserve the elevation attributes of the lines.

If we explode the lines we end up with so many tiny segments that they will not display the linestyles - changing the linetype scale eventually will show the style, but at far too small a size to be relevant.

We also, in most of the layers, are not able to change the 3D polylines to polylines - we must preserve the 3D attributes of the lines. So the problem is that we can't explode the 3D polylines, and we can't flatten them either, but we want the linestyles to display. We are using Map3D primarily, but can access C3D if a solution is available there.

The precise scenario is for instance a line which is a top of embankment, but which has points at around 30cm intervals, over a line length of 206m. This particular dataset has several hundred lines like this, and the linestyle we are trying to display is a simple set of repeating ticks off one side of the line.

We are experimenting with weeding the points, but the shape of the lines is being considerably downgraded by this process.at this point we are most likely going to have to present this data without linestyles for these features - not our first choice.

So to make it appear on the new document...the style manager has to be set at all styles and the new parts list style has to be saved to the document? What aren't we doing to make it appear on the template?

Also note that because the drawing border template is in a template folder as part of the design projects...it is NOT editable...so it has to be edited outside the template folder.

When importing the points I chose "Resolve all" it is renumbering the Point number value to the 5xxxxxxxx range?

Is there some setting where I can change this to a lower # or how/why this is happening?
