View 7 RepliesI have looked everywhere around the net to find some info about the Camera Raw preferences dialogue box in Elements 11 and what the settings mean/change. All I can find is 'Preferences - allows you to change the Camera Raw preferences'. There must be a reason for having a preferences dialogue icon/window in Camera Raw, the button is right up there next to the rotate buttons.

Why illustrator changed to having a join instruction (for path nodes) that makes cusp (non-smooth) joins after the join is performed as opposed to the old method of having another dialogue that allowed you to choose what type of join you wanted prior to making the join?

View 1 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to use the brush, it automatically becomes uniform, 5 pt round. I change it to what I want, and as soon as I use the brush, it jumps back to the old settings. How can I change the settings and have them stay so I can create multiple strokes in succession without having to go back and change each one? It's so frustrating.

I have a substantial library of symbols, brushes, and swatches that I've been carrying along with me since CS3.
I just installed Illustrator CC (among other apps) and I was wondering if there was an easier way to migrate all that stuff into the new version besides dragging files into folders like I've had to do in the past.
I've had to trash my preferences for Illustrator recently and used the Cmd-Opt-Shift-Ctrl method.
I've been a little confused that there wasn't any alert confirming that I wanted to trash the prefs.
confirm that Illustrator DOESN'T give this alert dialog when trashing the prefs?
I'm using Adobe Illustrator 15.0.2 (CS5) on my iMac which is running Mavericks (OS 10.9.1). In the past, I've simply trashed my plist files in my user's Library's Preferences folder. I did this and it doesn't seem to work. I'm not computer savey enought to do any programming work without very clear instructions. I see that people have talked about the difficulty with doing such things in Mavericks.

While I have done so succesfully before, for some reason it does not work this time. Panels, etc are still in place, even after restarting my machine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEach time I open Illustrator, I have to open preferences and go through changing everything back to the way I like it and it's getting really old. How can I permanently save these settings? I've read this article: [URL] .... but I think it's for older versions because I couldn't find the Adobe Illustrator Preferences file, and even if I did I wouldn't know what to do with it. I'm on Mac OSX.7. I previously used CS4 and it saved my preferences the first time permanently.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have all my symbols named and catagorized in alphabetical listing. Whenever I open a new symbol library it alwasy reverts to large thumbnails. These thumbnails are usually too small to see the small differences between different shirt types. Also I have trouble with white symbols being hard to see.
Anywho obviously I can just switch it to large list view and then its fine. But I'm getting annoyed that I have to do it every time I open a new symbol pallet. Its like 1 more task that I feel like this several hundred dollar software should be smart enough to do for me.
I've looked in preferences to no avail. How or if you can set the large list view as a default for opening libraries. Brush, symbol or otherwise?
Tools and preferences reset to default every time I quit Illustrator (cs6)? I spend so much time setting up my tool pallet "just so" but every time I have to close down and re-open they just resent to default . . . same is happening in photoshop??

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been unsuccessful in locating the Adobe Illustrator Preferences file on my computer. I am working my way through the lessons in Classroom In a Book for Illustrator, and you are asked to delete the current preferences prior to starting each lesson (this ensures the panels, etc, work in accordance with the text). I use a Mac with Lion as my operating system and, as instructed, went to my Library folder to find the "Adobe Illustrator CS6 Settings/en_US" file, yet it is nowhere to be found. I have saved files (which should result in the creation of a preference file) and closed and re-opened Illustrator. Nothing seems to be working and/or produce the preference file.

On one PC, I can see my Libraries from the "save as" and "open" dialogue boxes and on the other I have can't have have to dig down to find the folders I want to save to. I don't have any plug-ins installed, and I have not edited the registry.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to save preferences in the onClose function of my extension using the following code:
CSXSInterface.instance.storePreference("shapeStrokeSize", model.shapeStrokeSize.toString());
But the values I save do no persist and I can't find the prefs file. I am checking in: /Users/mitya/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/preference
if I run this same extension in CS6 everything works fine.
I've found this a most irritating issue already since CS1.I use Pantone colors a lot in my designs and always have the Pantone Solid Coated Color book open in Illustrator. However, no matter how often I save workspace, as soon as I close Illustrator and restart the color book has disappeared from my palette settings and locations. I have to re-open the color book every single time. What is the problem with this? How can all the other windows be saved in the workspace settings and preferences, but not the color books?
And why is this issue not yet addressed, when it's been coming up already since CS1? It's not a computer / preferences file issue.CS1, CS3, CS5 and now CS6 were all installed on a brand new (empty save for operating system) computer.
PC, Windows 7, AI CC..I have a document that displays units in points, and when I change the unit type to inches in the preferences panel and the Document Setup panel, the change won't apply.
I've tried saving as a new document, restarting, etc. I even tried setting the units to other units... doesn't matter what I have the units set to in preferences, it's always displaying points.
The rectangle tool is drawing at 90 degrees. I tried to fix it with the preferences>general>constrain angle, but I see that is ALREADY set to 0 degrees, yet the rectangle is 90 degrees! Is there another setting I should be aware of?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using a MAC OS version 10.6.8 and ESTK 3.6. When I open ESTK the font is very small and I want to make it larger. I go to ExtendScript ToolKit>Preferences when I click Fonts and Colors the program crashes and sends an error report to Apple.
I would like to script Illustrator with .jsx instead of AppleScript because I am more familiar with JavaScript (plus it's cross platform compatible).
When I go to save the image I am working on, the PNG Dialogue box is black , I mean that the radial and submit buttons show up but the rest is just black....avoid a total reinstall of my CS6 package.
This issue does not happen using the PSD or JPG save options either.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using AutoCAD 2012 and when I try and start the 'ARRAY' command I do not get the popup dialogue box like in earlier versions. I remember recently having the same issue with the HATCH command, but this was solved by altering the 'HPDLGMODE' setting. I've looked for a similar setting for ARRAY but so far come up with nothing.
Any settings that will revive this dialogue box?
Autocad used to perform the LOFT command partially in the COMMAND LINE and additional properties could be setted in the DIALOGUE BOX.
I used to draw my lofted elements :
1. Pick sections in order
2. Following Guide, Path,...
3. Dialogue box ( sections smooth fit, ruled, normal to,...)
4. Volume was drawn.
Nowdays it's a bit more extended but in step 2 when u pick a path the volume is drawn immediately and I can't append additional properties like in step 3.
Filedia is on 1
How do I get to the Loft dialogue box ?
how to lock in a dialogue box . I have tried to lock in the tools dialogue box to the panel on the side of the window, but everytime I select it it disappears. Sometimes it goes behind the panel. In the help screen it says you can drag a dialogue box over a "Blue" line and it will anchor it there. I cant see any blue line? There is some text that say "you can drag a dialogue box to this panel", but when you drag it, it does not stay there.
