I have two PC's side-by-side, running the same version of CS6. On one PC, I can see my Libraries from the "save as" and "open" dialogue boxes and on the other I have can't have have to dig down to find the folders I want to save to. I don't have any plug-ins installed, and I have not edited the registry.
View 2 RepliesIs there any way to save/open files in Adobe products using the general Windows format, i.e. where you could copy & paste a folder location into your address bar. I work on multiple projects across a complex network and I have to manually navigate through all the folders each time, and I can't copy & paste a location like I could if I was browsing through Windows normally. Also you can't save favorite locations?
View 3 Replies View RelatedInventor Pro 2012.I am opening some SolidWorks 2011 SLDPRT files to make them into Inventor part files.The models come in fine. When I try to produce a IDW I can Dimension all the geometry but can not call out and holes/threads. I am using Win 7 64 bit, all the latest service packs for Inventor and Windows.
I have include a snipe screen of the Open file dialogue box and the selected options.
if i try and to open a new file or save as a current file, the windows box does not open. the command line does populate asking for file name, etc, but obviously is very tedious to navigate windows folders with a command line!
any obvious changes that would prevent windows folder dialogue box not to open?
Why illustrator changed to having a join instruction (for path nodes) that makes cusp (non-smooth) joins after the join is performed as opposed to the old method of having another dialogue that allowed you to choose what type of join you wanted prior to making the join?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I open an image in Photoshop CS3, an open box appears and I have selected my image, but when I click the Open button, an error message comes out that says "could not continue with the open command because two or more files were selected for opening at once". So I clicked the OK button and then I could not click all buttons even Close button. I still have to press CTRL+ALT+DEL to close or I have to restart the whole PC.

It can take over a minute just to get the Open dialog box up to browse for a file. Eventually, the dialog boxes open, but during the time that it's trying to open, the program is unresponsive. It is happening with all of my CS6 programs. I have unistalled and reinstalled with no fix. The programs are updated.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have resized my stock files to 640x433, 72dpi, JPEG, for cataloging to Extensis Portfolio 7 and CDRs. These images are in numbers folders, according to subjects. The problem is when I initially open an image it asks for the color profile. I want it Adobe 1998 RGB, the same as my master TIFF files.
How can I just do this process by the folder for all images within it.?
Do I have to, for example, open all 2000 files, assign the profile and then save individually?

Can Adobe add in "Preferences" - option with checkbox for users Windows 7/8 who can use the new windows explorer with extended folder bar? That would be simplified and speeded up a lot of things.
I can't get the Tool Options dialogue box to re-dock to the toolbar. I've looked at a few other threads, but they haven't worked. I'll attach screencaps if I need to.

I bought the adobe creative suite 6 master collection, and this function works fine in Photoshop but it does nto work in Illustrator.
How do I switch to Windows' dialog windows for open/save/etc dialogs ?
On Photoshop CS3 we had this option (PS's had more options, but Window's gives a better view).
For the same reason I would like that on AutoCad : AutoCad's dialog is misorganized and carries a bad side menu. I really prefer explorer's .
I know there is an option on AutoCad to use Thumbnails instead of list, for example, but it won't apply to evey folder.
And the side links (see the picture) poins to useless places, and I cannot add my shortcuts, oppose to windows', where I can.
Is there a way to turn on the ctrl shift alt and space bar options for the selection window like it works with the shape tools?

Means it saves a copy via the Illustrator SDK (CS5).Now, we got a problem with some files: While exporting, there appears an error message called "Adobe Save for Web AI Error" and, obviously, it stops the export.I don't use an function called "Save for Web" and other people don't have the problem with our program.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Windows XP with Photoshop CS6. Since the "Save" button runs off the edge of my monitor, I can't click Save. I also can't move the dialogue box up far enough to get to it before running out of screen space. I tried just hitting the enter key, but nothing happened. I end up having to do a control-alt-delete to get out of Photoshop altogether.I've never had this problem before when I had CS2 or with the CS6 I have at work.Is there a way around this?

I changed computers and it works correctly in the second one in that the page size is the same in both boxes, but I still cannot get it to work in the original pc. Both the file and the printer are common. Reinstalling Xara does not work. It looks like it is not installing correctly, even though it appears to be.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter using Abobe Illustrator CS2 at work for years, I suddenly can't open old drawings and if I start a new one even if it is small, when I close it can't save do to not enough memory. There is plenty of RAM and room on hard drive. Already have restored from an older date. Even before we (IT guys and I) did the restore we un-installed they re-installed Adobe from disk, and we still have the same problem. This is a primary program used for about 90% of the work I do.

InDesign opened fine, but in the dock Illustrator and Photoshop have diagonal lines through them. View 5 Replies View RelatedI used to save art for printers by using Adobe PDF. Worked great. Now, for some reason all of the art I save under "Adobe PDF" automatically opens in Photoshop. I don't know why or how to fix that. This causes rasterization of my images and it appears the PDF is saved in Photoshop, not Adobe Illustrator. How do I fix this? I don't remember changing anything.

I don't see any option for this anymore...was it taken out in CS4 or CS3? Or is there an option to enable it that I'm just missing?
Is there a way to disable the keyboard shortcut which opens Adobe Bridge from Illustrator? Often when I'm working quickly I accidentally hit this (option command o) instead of (shift command o) to outline type. It halts everything to open Bridge, which I never use. Is there any way to disable this command?

It consistently crashes on the same file, but it doesn't seem that every file is affected. I'm running cs6 on windows 7. I've tried resetting my profile and deleting temporary files (disk cleanup) to no avail.
