Photoshop :: Images Open Unflattened - CS5.5 Didn't Do That
Jul 29, 2012Images coming from my Nikon D-90 (.jpgs) open into Photoshop CS6 just fine. However, CS6 now automatically un-flattens them. I'm only doing simple edits to the image like cropping and color-correction. If I click to close/save, I get prompted to save as a .psd file. I have to close the save window, flatten the image from the layers menu and then click save.
I know it's only a few clicks but I process dozens of images like this at a time. I've been all through the preferences and can't find anything that says "don't flatten."
Photoshop :: How To Open A Saved Photobook Started In Elements 10 On Vista / Windows
Dec 23, 2011I saved a photo book and while I was working on it it got closed by accident. Now I cannot open it back up into the photobook program I was working on it in. I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.

May 1, 2012Still having this problem when accessing the user manual (local copy on computer), notepad opens up displaying html code of the user manual as listed above posting.
I went into SAFE mode to see what would happen and the same action resulted. I went into SAFE mode because all security programs would be off.
When I change the setting to use the user manual online this is the error message. ( My Outpost Security Suite 7.1 Free is ON.)

I went to see what the default browser but it only shows "Reg_SZ" in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOThttpshellopencommand. I want to verify what my default browser is. Isn't that what GIMP will use as the browser? Why does GIMP use the NotePad program to display the user manual when I have the preferences set to local access (on my computer)? The name of the NotePad file is "gimp-concepts-usage".
AutoCAD .NET :: Commands Didn't Work If Open File By Double Click
Oct 20, 2012I made my plug-in for Autocad 2012.I register my plug-in in registry and so it's autoloaded.If I open Autocad I saw my toolbar, my message from IExtensionApplication.Initialize and all my commands (marked as [assembly: CommandClass) works fine. No problem.
BUT! If I open autocad file by double click - autocad opened. Now I saw my toolbar, saw my message from Initialize!But any commands didn't work. Autocad said that command is unknown. What can be a problem? My be in Autocad version? I have student version and startup message about it.

Nov 10, 2012I accidentally deleted some photos from a memory card. I recovered them using software called "Recover My Files". This software recovered the files but now I can't open them in CS3. I took these with an old Canon Rebel DSLR and they should not need converting, they opened fine before I deleted them.

Illustrator :: Alternatives To Manual Trapping?
Aug 16, 2012I do prepress work for a label manufacturer/printer, and all of our trapping is currently done manually. The art files we work with continue to grow in their complexity, and doing all the trapping manually can sometimes be quite difficult and incredibly time consuming.
I know that Illustrator has a built-in trapping option, but it doesn't allow for a whole lot of control. I've played around with a demo of PowerTrapper (from Esko), but it's fairly pricy, and I haven't been able to get my boss to bite yet. Any plugins that handle trapping.

Mar 22, 2012I have written a small application in .NET that gives color to Illustrator files.I have a layer with 100 color items (paths with a fillcolor). Each one has a unique name. Through that name my program looks them up, takes the fill color and applies that color to another path.Recently there was a change in Design, the drawings that I had to provide of a Fillcolor were no no longer pathitems but rasteritems (imported from photoshop). I thought ok no problem instead of setting the Fillcolor property I'll use the Colorize method on the rasteritems. It worked fine but now and then I came across a situation where raster-item didn't get the color. After digging in to it I saw that it was because some colors are Pantone colors and the colorize method on rasteritems only takes RGBColor or CMYKcolor objects. How to do it with the pantone colors?

May 15, 2013So my time has come and I have just been bitten by the Illegal Operand failure upon opening a document. The doc was created in AiCS3 but I'm trying to follow the recovery procedure in AiCS6, described here: URL>....The problem is that at step 3 when I'm holding down the three keys, and hitting Open, Windows 7 is triggering the country suffix behavior and appends the country code to the selected file name, in my case - .pl. This makes my file selection invalid (myfile.ai.pl). I guess this comes from a web browser (I have almost all of them installed).
What lead the file to corruption was the spiral tool. WHen I drew the shape, all of a sudden the entire pasteboard (usually filled with dense, tiny checkerboard pattern) got filled with the stroke or fill color. I saved the file and that was it.

I have some Scott Kelby books and others, but they all tell you how top do this and that, but I would really like to understand better what I am doing and then I will not need so much the how to books. Is there nothing like that available?

Jun 18, 2013The installation...seamless if slow (45min at least to install from the get-go). A bit of confusion over the fact that Bridge is now independent from PS.The first thing I noticed is that the workspace is really clean, almost elegant. It it a joy to my eyes to use. Next I went to my favorite tool about which I have had severe criticism in CS6, the crop tool.
It now works far better than CS6. You fixed the major objections I had. The only thing to catch may attention is that there is a switch to not center the crop. It doesn't work. Or maybe I don't understand what it actually means. Also, the additional crop proportions I added to CS6 did not transfer to CC.
But then I saw there is no Close or Minimize button! Not being able to minimize is a problem as I frequently have 2 or more windows running.
