Photoshop :: Images Open Unflattened - CS5.5 Didn't Do That
Jul 29, 2012
Images coming from my Nikon D-90 (.jpgs) open into Photoshop CS6 just fine. However, CS6 now automatically un-flattens them. I'm only doing simple edits to the image like cropping and color-correction. If I click to close/save, I get prompted to save as a .psd file. I have to close the save window, flatten the image from the layers menu and then click save.
I know it's only a few clicks but I process dozens of images like this at a time. I've been all through the preferences and can't find anything that says "don't flatten."
Is there a way to save and submit a Photoshop file containing both vector and raster art-unflattened- so that it stays vector and raster when the client opens it? The issue is: client wants to be able to zoom in on the whole file and not lose sharpness of the type.
Seems like a reasonable request. So the finished, unflattened file needs to include both types of layers. Someone suggested using Indesign. Could that work? Didn't Deneba Canvas used to work that way?
I imported a large group of images from last October and 14 of them had virtual copies created from them, mainly the final copies of images I was using. When imported into a new catalog I created in Lightroom 4 beta, only the raw files came over, not the virtual copies. I do notice that they have all been updated to the 2012 process and I did not tell it to do that. I need to remove and reimport them? This could be a big problem for me as I really like to use Virtual Copies.
I made my plug-in for Autocad 2012.I register my plug-in in registry and so it's autoloaded. If I open Autocad I saw my toolbar, my message from IExtensionApplication.Initialize and all my commands (marked as [assembly: CommandClass) works fine. No problem.
BUT! If I open autocad file by double click - autocad opened. Now I saw my toolbar, saw my message from Initialize! But any commands didn't work. Autocad said that command is unknown. What can be a problem? My be in Autocad version? I have student version and startup message about it.
The installation...seamless if slow (45min at least to install from the get-go). A bit of confusion over the fact that Bridge is now independent from PS.The first thing I noticed is that the workspace is really clean, almost elegant. It it a joy to my eyes to use. Next I went to my favorite tool about which I have had severe criticism in CS6, the crop tool.
It now works far better than CS6. You fixed the major objections I had. The only thing to catch may attention is that there is a switch to not center the crop. It doesn't work. Or maybe I don't understand what it actually means. Also, the additional crop proportions I added to CS6 did not transfer to CC.
But then I saw there is no Close or Minimize button! Not being able to minimize is a problem as I frequently have 2 or more windows running.
what is the mac os disc for, i have installed photoshop elements 12 & premier 12 from one disc , when mac os is inserted i get autoplay, selected organize & edit in element12, gives me the organiser, here i clicked on shop elemets got install app but did not connect with the disc . is the disc part of elements 12 setup
i bought adobe photoshop elements 10 editor early this year by apple store (mac) before adobe photoshop elements 11 editor came out. i recovered my mac , i installed i adobe photoshop elements 10 again , but unfortunatly it is not working always showing me a windows telling me to report an erre to Apple is that means my money has gone on nothing?! i have OSX 10.8.4
I uninstalled my creative suite from one laptop, and i am installing it on other laptop. i seem unable to activate it. tried internet, and phone. the program didn't show a deactivate option
i have two laptops that i've downloaded the CC to and one has Windows 7 the other Windows 8.
i installed the CC on my newer W8 laptop a couple months ago and noticed that the Splash screens are different for Ps & Ia than the ones on my older Win 7 laptop.
i've also noticed there are some new things in Ps on my newer computer like the ability to Sync Preferences, more Fonts and the Properties panel has some new cool features but no matter how many updates that come for Ps on my older Windows 7 computer it doesn't have the newer features.
must i uninstall Ps & Ia to get these cool new features on my older computer too? if so, wouldn't i would lose all my plugins, styles, custom shapes etc.
i put copyright text on my photos, i didn't flatten image but " save as" in JPEG,click "save" then before i close the photos , it said "save changes to the adobe photoshop document ...before closing?" then i clicked NO.
And now i opened these photos to change the size of the copyright text and year, i can't because there's no layer for the text, only a background which means the text and photo are in one layer. What should i do? or did i make a mistake somewhere?
I am trying to load CR2 files from a Conon 600D to elements 7. Each time I try I get the message 'Nothing was imported, files did not contain any supported file types'. I imagine this is something to do with ACR. I have looked at some discussions here and as a result downloaded ACR 5.4, but I still get the same error message.
When I open an image it opens in raw first. why? when I need to open an image template say from WHCC it won't show the lines (I'm guessing because of the RAW thing).
I'm using CS5.1-- just installed it. I go to File-->Open--> the image, and no window opens.
It seems the window is hidden because I see an icon in the layers pallet and the icon says it's visible... I can't click anywhere because there is no window to click in "Fit on Screen" doesn't do anything..
We just purchased an Acer laptop computer, picked it up yesterday. Hubby is going to use this strictly for working on his pictures when out of town. He didn't even plan to hook it up to the internet. It has Windows Vista Home Premium, 2G of RAM, 120G of hard drive and a CD/DVD player/recorder. I installed Photoshop CS2, Nik Sharpener, Neatimage noise remover and Huey Pro Calibrater onto the computer last night.
When I opened Photoshop & Bridge, opened a DVD of some RAW images, Bridge would not show the thumbnails and I couldn't open any in Photoshop. In Bridge all that showed was a light blue box with CR2 over it and the file name below for each image. When I tried to open one I got a "Can not complete process due to a program error" message. I did open a jpeg image into Photoshop from the ones included in my documents and had no trouble with that. I didn't acutally try to do anything with it so I'm not sure that any of the options in Photoshop actually work, although they were all active with the jpeg image.
I saw a preference somewhere in PS that told photoshop to open all images at 16.7%. You may be wondering why on earth I would want such an option, but it would come in handy sometimes when opening multiple images of the same size when there is a mix of verticals and horizontals. This way the horizontals would not completely fill the screen, making it easier to navigate through the open images when they are stacked on the screen.
I like to compare and see what images I've worked on and would like to have them all open at one time. In CS4 you could have up to 15 open and reduced so you could compare them at once and quickly move from one to the other. Is this possible in CS6?
How can I show two images open in Photoshop CS6 - next to each other?
Going through the screen modes by pressing F like in Photoshop CS5 doesn't get me there. That screen mode with the floating windows seems to be missing. I need it for comparisons and for dragging layers between the two images.
Is the floating window screen mode achievable in CS6 or how else can I put two opened images next to each other on Photoshop's workspace?
I have installed and updated both PhotoshopCC and BridgeCC.
I can display the images in Bridge. However, whenever I double-click on them I get the following error message' "Windows cannot find C:ProgramfilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS6 (64 bit). Make sure you typed the name correctly and the try again." I can open the files from PhotoshopCC without going to Bridge.
What can I do? This may be related to the above problem: PhotoshopCC does not seem to set the file associations.
what im trying to do is open multiple images in Photoshop cs3 and then blend the images together. But the problem that i am facing is that i can only open one image at a time.
I have been away for a few months and now, when I go to open a RAW image in CS6, it tries to default to Photoshop, then opens in Camera RAW. This is something new. How do I get RAW images to open automatically in ACR (Adobe Camera Raw)? They did before (two months ago). They do not now. I can, of course, right click and go to the dropdown menu and tell it to open in RAW but that is an extra, unnecessary step. There's a saying..."It's not a bug, it's a feature." No, this seems to be a bug. What happened?
I recently purchased an Olympus EM1 digital camera. I have PSCS5: however I cannot open my camera raw imagesin PSCS5. Photoshop updated the camera raw to 6.1.
I understand I need version camera raw plug in 8.3 to be compatible with my Olympus EM1.what steps to take to make the program and the camera raw plug in compatible?
Even though I've been a professional photographer for over 25 years, I finally decided it was time to go digital. Little did I know how overwhelming and frustrating the learning process would be, especially for an old timer like me. Well, the 10 day return period on the digital equipment and software purchase is up, so I have no choice but to move forward in the learning process. :)
Actually, I'm excited about all the photographic possibilities that digital has to offer over film.
The first batch of photos were taken with a new Canon 40-D in Raw + JPEG. When I open my picture folder (containing those photos) in Bridge, a CR2 icon appears next to each thumbnail image that was loaded from the camera flash card. The Bridge program is part of Photoshop CS3 that I purchased, and the 40-D has the latest firmware. (If relevant, the computer is a PC using Vista Home Edition.)
Problem: When I double click on a JPEG image, I am able to load that image into Photoshop. When I double click on the CR2 icon, however, I get a message that says, "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." What am I overlooking?
Also, shouldn't a thumbnail Raw image appear along with its corresponding JPEG thumbnail when the content of the picture folder is opened in Bridge? As it stands now, I get only a CR2 icon next to the JPEG thumbnails.
Since I downloaded & installed camera raw 4.6 to deal with raw images from my Nikon D90 I have had the following problem with Photoshop cs4 (on XP + SP3). Any images I open from within bridge or Picasa or directly from windows explorer get opened in Adobe Raw 4.6. From their I have to open image to get it into photoshop. This applies to all images, jpg, gif, tiff, psd etc.I've looked at the file associations & made sure photoshop is selected & I've tried open with & browsed to the photoshop directory & selecting the photoshop.exe file but always they open with the adobe raw. How do I get this set back to default so that all regular images open in photoshop & raw images open in camera raw? Lastly I tried deleting thus ressetting my prefferances, no good.
