May 27, 2008how I change the width of palettes in Photoshop. By unknown reasons it's not possible for me to change the width of any palettes in PS CS3 (i.e color- and layer palettes etc). Is this normal, a new version feature perhaps? :-)
For instance, my action palette has a width of two columns, and I can't change it to a single column. This seems a little bit weird to me - all the extra space my new widescreen monitor give me are now reduced by extra wide palettes in Photoshop! :-/

For some reason changing the Size and MinimumSize doesn't seem to have any impact.
Also..I've been basing a project on the width it allows me but on a lower resolution screen it loads cutting off the right hand segments of the controls.

Sep 12, 2013A fellow cagemate is having some trouble with his Text Editor and I swore I'd (Cadtutor) solve it for him.the top is of the Text Editor as it usually is with the width adjustment ruler on top, the bottom image is taken from his ACAD which as you can see does not have this ruler. This happened yesterday and we have not managed to restore it back to how it was.Has he turned it off somewhere? How can he get it back?

Jul 5, 2012Frequently when I am using LR4, from the intial to the latest patch, I have a very persistent double arrow. The double arrow is the one that points left and right, and is intended to occur when you are hovering over the side of a window pane and you want to drag it left or right.
My problem is that I get that arrow much more frequently then when I want to change the width of the window. I get it constantly when I go to do keywords. Sure I cross over the window boundry where it might naturally turn into that arrow, but I am exclusively working in the keyword panel. And that double arrow remains. I need to shake my mouse a bit to make it disappear.This is not a problem that occured in Lightroom 1, 2 or 3.

Oct 6, 2011While I was messing with the HSV values in the pallette window I noticed that often some of the values would change from what I'd specified by increments of 1 or 2. I understand that this is a pretty small change but I still found it bothersome that something was keeping me from having complete control over what I wanted the color to be.
Is this intentional? Is this some overlooked bug? Is this common in other digital art programs? Some unavoidable result of whatever is used to calculate the color values? Something I'm missing here?
GIMP :: Single Window Mode - Filter Options Windows Behind Main Window On OSX
Mar 11, 2013As a new user I really prefer the single window mode but have a real problem in that every time I open a filter the window/box that open opens up underneath the single window and I cant see it without minimising the main gimp window. I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.

Nov 7, 2011I'm having a problem with my properties window or floating palette. When I select an object, such as a "line", my properties palette refreshes itself for about 3 seconds. When I hit esc, or deselect the line, it takes another 3 seconds to refresh itself. You can even see the properties palette start at the top and go blank as it travels downward. Very slow process, I can not get anything done. IF I close my properties palette, it does not have the delay, but I can not work without it. When I reboot, it works fine for about 5-6 selections, then jams back up.

AutoCad 3D :: Material Editor Window Will Not Open
Dec 18, 2013I'm trying to edit some material properties before rendering. But suddenly, I can no longer open up the Material Edit window. I searched and it said to look where it was last opened. Ok, I did that because I was using it this morning. But then it disappeared for good and I cannot figure out how to re-open it. I've cold booted my computer and restarted AutoCAD but the results are the same. So what am I missing. This copy is AutoCAD 2013 and it has SP1 and SP2 loaded.
UPDATE: OK...something weird happened. I finally found it but it was hidden beneath the other icons which I have anchored on the left. I was only able to get to it by carefully placing my mouse on a piece of it and dragging it out into the model space. So, what gives and how can I avoid this in the future?
Illustrator :: Color Books Not Saved In Window / Palette Preferences?
Jun 15, 2012I've found this a most irritating issue already since CS1.I use Pantone colors a lot in my designs and always have the Pantone Solid Coated Color book open in Illustrator. However, no matter how often I save workspace, as soon as I close Illustrator and restart the color book has disappeared from my palette settings and locations. I have to re-open the color book every single time.What is the problem with this? How can all the other windows be saved in the workspace settings and preferences, but not the color books?
And why is this issue not yet addressed, when it's been coming up already since CS1? It's not a computer / preferences file issue.CS1, CS3, CS5 and now CS6 were all installed on a brand new (empty save for operating system) computer.

Apr 6, 2013Within the layer style window under the >bevel and emboss >Contour the option displaying images or list of contours is only opening to contour editor.
It's not displaying the contours within my collection I must've tripped off setting for displaying them but I can't find where that setting is, or if it's even available anymore? I don't believe I've used it since CS 3 or4. I'm using CS6 now but contours seems to have changed.

Jul 25, 2012Is there a text editor window in Illustrator similar to Freehand? I want to be able to edit text without constantly having to zoom in so that I can see the text, then zoom out again to see the whole page.
In Freehand, you could select a Preference that would open a Text Editor window that was consistant in size no matter what the zoom level was. You could opt to show the text in 12pt Helvetica or in the actual font and size. This was enormously useful in organizing and shaping the size of the text.

In PSE 10 it was possible to use all tools in one palette with one click in the Quick-Mode. Now in PSE 11 we have to open each individual tool before we can use it? After the action this tool closed, so that we have to open it again in the next step. This takes much more time. Is ist possible to switch back to the arrangement of PSE 10?

Paint Shop Pro :: Windows Explorer-like Window Missing From Full Editor
Jul 26, 2011The title just about says it all. I usually edit in Full Editor mode, but normally there is an Explorer-like ribbon running across the bottom, much like the one in Express Lab. I opened PSP ProX3 today and it was gone. I'm guessing it disappeared when i did some editing for my daughter in a non-standard (for me) mode.
How do I get it back? I swear I have hunted and even RTFM'd.
