Downloaded g'mic plug-in ver 1.5.6.1 just yesterday. I was looking to use "Anisotropic smoothing". It takes the rough edges off text.
Why it's not on the plug-in and or any other way to remove rough edges from text. To be used for a logo.
I'm getting some white edges on my artwork, very fine ones. I googled a bit the problem, but couldn't find anything useful.
This is what I'm talking about:
Can you see them? They appear in the red figures. Looks somewhat pixelate with white color and sometimes black.

Because of the angle, I gues, the white edges on the red shape don't look as disturbing or pixelate as in the other picture. I even thought they weren't there, until I gave a closer look (click on the picture to see it better).
This will be something printable.
I'm using CS6 on OSX 10.9.1
I am running 2005 ADT. In certain drawing, but not all the edges of my text appear very rough. It doesn't seem to have much effect on the plotting, but it tears at the eye and is distracting. I think its some kind of variable because it doesn't occur is every drawing.
When I open up an MTEXT editor the text looks correct.
Basically whilst using a tablet to draw the outline, i want to fill in the space with a colour. however, this leaves a pixellated edge around the fill, resulting in the piece looking far from perfect. how can i get around this without having to hand fill each individual pixel? is there any way to turn the sensitivity on my tablet off on the tool so that i just draw thick black lines instead of ones that get lighter around the edges?

So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.

Solution :Here is what I did in GIMP (how to do it in PS):
Open the image
Add another layer underneath the first.
- sample the green and paint the new layer with it
Select the original and do "Alpha to Selection"
"Merge Visible Layers"
Add Layer Mask -> Selection
Apply Layer Mask
Save as PNG
- Important: In GIMP there is a checkbox option to save transparent colors. Make sure it is checked!Reimport into the SketchUp material and it should work (did for me).I want to remove all white edges , i'm okay with black edges.
I'm practicing using Coreldraw and made a logo with a transparent background. It's a combination of rectangles and text. I exported the logo as a png. Everything looks fine in corel, but when I upload it to the web the edges are very ragged on the rectangles and text. I tried it with and without converting to curves and the same thing happens.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to re size my text layer so that the borders would align with the edges of the text, but every time I adjust the upper part of the layer the text itself would shift downward, cutting off the lower part of the text. Is there a way I can conveniently adjust the layer so that it looks like the text fits the layer.
Example I am trying to achieve is something like this.
The problem I keep getting is this.
I am using PS7 to create a logo. When I add a layer with text and use the tool to arc the text, the text appears to look very rough around the edges. If I do not arc the text, the edges of the text is smooth. I've also tried to arc the text in MS Word using WordArt and it retains its smoothness there, but once copied and pasted into PS7, it becomes rough again. This makes the logo look a little unprofessional.
Is there a specific type of font I should be using as opposed to a TrueType or is there something else I can do?
I am trying to create a form with a watermark image in Publisher 2013 and the text I want to overlay on the watermark is cut from an image I screenshot, so it has a white background, making overlaying a watermark impossible. There are boxes and bubbles and other items that I really do not want to re-create so that's why I am trying to do this first, before re-creating the entire forms from scratch.
Anyway, what I want to do is A. remove all of the white from the background (even in the spaces between the e's an B's and everything; yes I know it is insane, but I like things to be perfect) and B. I would like to darken the text. Currently is is almost gray-ish and I want it to be black.
I created some text, and then immediately clicked text along path. it created some weird little pink pixely shape. if i keep clicking it it makes more. And i can't get rid of it.
It's above every layer, and it's not actually on a layer. If i hide, or even remove, every single layer it is still there. How can i delete these weird shapes that i erroneously made with the text along path tool?

I have a logo that i need to edit. I need to adjust the name in the same font and the remove some text from it. While maintaining the look of it. How do i go about doing that.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm just getting the hang of GIMP and up and running on a project, until now. For some reason, I'm not able to get the kind of selections I want from using the Path and Scissors tools. Large pieces of the letters get cut off and its frustrating to say the least. I've heard about the edge logic problems and actually found out how to use the Path tool as a result. This still happens with Scissors after I've jacked the contrast all the way up, and its already in bw.
Now the obvious fix would be to just type what I'm wanting and go from there which should be simple. BUT, I'm not quite to the point where I can build it from scratch and the font is fairly specific.
I am having difficulty with the text in my drawings. When writing dtext or dimensions on my drawings in modelspace the text appears rough/rugged in both model space and layout space. I am using True Type (Arial) as the font. I've read older posts where people have suggested checking in Properties that the text is really laying down at 0 in the Z plane which it is. Some say using True Type is the problem, but just last week I was doing what seemed to be the same operation and I had no problems at all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was designing some cartoon character, but I've noticed something, I'm working on CMYK and I've got some black lines on the top layer, and some red and violet color shapes in the bottom layer for the background color, but like if the colours weren't mixing allright in the edges, like some kind of jagged white fine edge and I don't know how to get rid of it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn GIMP 2.8, I've been having a great deal of trouble getting good edges around elements that must be overlaid onto new items.
Such items seem to need (a) a progressive blur around the edges and inward to its center, and (b) a decreasing opacity from the edges and inward toward the center.
I cannot figure out how to satisfactorily achieve this. I use this all the time, but now in 2.8 I cannot. (The only "solution" I can think of is using a fuzzy brush around the entire perimeter, but that does not blur it, and, of course, it takes forever....there's no point in even having a matte if you're going to do it manually!)
What I am trying to do is, I have an image. I would like to fade the image edges into the background which is colored black. So in essence, I want the image to meld into the background which is black. How is this done. I tried so many things and I cant seem to get it right.
Every time I get close, to getting it right, my image fades somewhat using the gradient tool and a new opaque white layer but I get white and silver boxes on the edges of my image?
I have an image I want to cut the white space out of and make it transparent. I can use the magic wand tool to highlight everything I want to remove, but when I hit delete on my keyboard nothing happens.
It's originally a JPG image with a white background that I am pasting into GIMP.
I attempted to magic wand what I wanted to keep and then to copy/paste it to a new document, but the image is too intense to highlight it, it is much easier to just highlight the whitespace surrounding it.
