View 11 RepliesI'm getting some white edges on my artwork, very fine ones. I googled a bit the problem, but couldn't find anything useful.
This is what I'm talking about:
Can you see them? They appear in the red figures. Looks somewhat pixelate with white color and sometimes black.
Here another example:
Because of the angle, I gues, the white edges on the red shape don't look as disturbing or pixelate as in the other picture. I even thought they weren't there, until I gave a closer look (click on the picture to see it better).
This will be something printable.
I'm using CS6 on OSX 10.9.1
remove couple annoying white edges around the transparent PNG.

Solution :Here is what I did in GIMP (how to do it in PS):
Open the image
Add another layer underneath the first.
- sample the green and paint the new layer with it
Select the original and do "Alpha to Selection"
"Merge Visible Layers"
Add Layer Mask -> Selection
Apply Layer Mask
Save as PNG
- Important: In GIMP there is a checkbox option to save transparent colors. Make sure it is checked!Reimport into the SketchUp material and it should work (did for me).I want to remove all white edges , i'm okay with black edges.
When I print out the InDesign file, there is always white edges on the paper, how can I remove them?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm in hopes there is a technique whereas I can paint within the black areas to remove the white spec without worrying about going over the edge, as I would with a black paint brush. I tried different brush blending modes (screen, overlay, multiply) didn't do the trick.

For example: I need a quick and easy way to turn this into this
With the intention of then being able to resize the image to the exact dimensions I require before then resizing the canvas size to create the exact amount of white spacing between the tops and bottom of the image.
how can i get rid of these unwanted white spaces between two shapes in illustrator.İ spend my whole week to fix this, i tried everything but didn't work. İt's not something about antialiasing, when i import these shapes to photoshop or another programs, i'ts looking worse.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you can see, the base for the shape is fluid and curved, but since it is so close and big it creates corners. Is there any way, besides expanding the stroke and curving it manually, to remove the edges? Preferrably while still maintaining the editabiliy of the stroke.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was designing some cartoon character, but I've noticed something, I'm working on CMYK and I've got some black lines on the top layer, and some red and violet color shapes in the bottom layer for the background color, but like if the colours weren't mixing allright in the edges, like some kind of jagged white fine edge and I don't know how to get rid of it.
Here are some jpeg of the problem: [URL] ....
Perhaps it's not as strong as I see it on the CMYK Illustrator vector, but it's pretty annoying on the final result. How to get rid of these things?
i have a problem with path edges after using shape builder tool or masking objects. This problem occurs when i draw bright colored objects above dark colored object. After that i have dark path's edges. Like this: [URL] I have one solution (pathfinder->dive objects and delete some dark elements on the bottom).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently invested in CS6 Production Premium and I've just tested legacy support by saving an Illustrator CS6 image in CS4 format.
The image contains a number of semi-transparent gradient meshes used for highlights.
Having loaded the saved CS4 .ai file in CS6, white lines appear along my semi-transparent gradient meshes (see the attached screenshot).
What's happening is that the anchor points with 0% opacity in CS6 suddenly have 100% opacity when I load the saved CS4 files in CS6.
Is this a known error? If so, how/where do I report it?
Here are the relevant CS6 and CS4 files: [URL] ....
There are no white lines when I save the image in CS5 format and load it in CS6.
When I sent a complex artfile with transparency and special effects in Illustrator to print, a white transparent box shows up in some of the illustration. I think there's a way to go about resolving this problem in illustrator under the transparency flattener presets but not totally sure how to go about readjusting the numbers.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI managed to create the Illustrator image I want & now need to take this image & use it in another application. However, regardless of which way I attempt to export - jpg, tif or png, I'm still getting the (white artboard) background, which I do not want. I attempted to create another box & blend the background to the background of the other application that I am using, but it's still apparent.
Also, with some conversion, my image became distorted or changed the image colors a little bit.
What's the process to remove unwanted backgrounds from Illustrator images? Here's some samples.
I'm trying to remove white space out of the pic, but it removes the other part instead. It keeps the part that I want to go.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am wondering if there is a way to add/remove/redistribute anchor points on a compound shape so that there are evenly spaced anchors along the outline of that shape.I am aware of the "add anchor points" command. But that adds a new anchor at EVERY midpoint between two anchors. It doesn't smartly calculate where to add and where to avoid adding anchors.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to remove redundant points whilst maintaining the exact shape of the path?
After using Pathfinder or Expand there are often many redundant points which can't be removed using Simplify or Unite.
The VectorScribe plugin has a Smart Remove Points feature which is exactly what I want. I'm presuming the only way I can get that feature is to buy the plugin.
A simple example is shown below: The path is part of an exact circle and I need to remove one of the anchors.
I have created a compound path in illustrator and when I try to make a clipping mask, rather than revealing the image behind the path, the shape is filled with solid white. I am able to successfully make the mask using one shape or the other, but once I create the compound path, I just get this white fill.
I am in CS5 on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard). See screenshots below.
The two shapes still separated.
The compound path.
After I make the clipping mask.
I am trying to remove a circular shape from a rectangle in illustrator, the retangles width is 10px and the diameter of the circle is 13px, I centre the circle ontop of the rectangle ( or I appear to) but when I use the Shape mode tool minus front, the circle is no longer centred ( see images).
I have tried switching off smart guides and snap to grid and am still having the same problem.
In the above image you can see once I have divided the 13px circle from the rectangle it has moved off to one side.
Also when I am trying to manually place the circle ( rather than using the centre guides ) I can only move it by a large degree it alway moves further than I move the mouse, could this be because of a pixel grid? I do not think I am using this. ( can see in the above image where I am trying to place the circle and when I let go of the mouse, the grey circle is where it lands.
From the 2 images below you can see that there is a 1px difference on either side of the extracted circle I was trying to get centered.
I should mention that the 'Align to pixel grid' in the transform menu is inactive when I am trying to do this, as I initially thought that this may be the cause of my problems, but it made no difference.
I thought this was going to be a piece of cake in the new Illustrator CC but I am having a few unanticipated issues:)I need to create some vector tire images with different edges, such as the top one in the image below. So I thought this would be SO easy by simply creating a pattern brush in Illustrator and then using that for the outside. So I created the shape you see in the middle image below and created a pattern brush with this shape.I then created an ellipse and used the new brush for the outline.
All of those are open paths...it has taken the shape and applied it to the outline but has kept each shape separate, so I am not able to fill the circle in black. I could of course go in and manually join each little corner separately where the little shapes meet but this will take FOREVER with all the images I have to do.
I'm Create a Concept in 3d max mesh which is .
Now I want to make it into REvit.
Is there a way to remove the edges and is only a shell.
How do you smooth the edges of your shape? I'm hoping there is a 1-2 step process. Everywhere I look on the internet is a 6-7 step process for doing this basic task.

I have a shape that I want to use for a number backing on a racecar. The problem is that I want the lines to be 5mm thick right around, or any thickness just as long as it is uniform.
The shape/image in question:
I want to then copy the shape into a new layer, and resize it to fit inside the old shape to look something like this:
So to get back on topic, the real question is how to I make the outer lines the same thickness right around?
