I've got some drawings that I've made in Inkscape and I would like to make them look more like they were drawn by hand. I know I found a tutorial for doing it some time ago, but obviously I didn't save the link. And when I try searching I only find how to make a sketch into vector or a photo into a sketch, and that's not what I'm looking for.

I guess I will really have to repaint it in that way so the rabbit and cat and letters don't show up on the new, vectorized image.
Main question: HOW do I do this in Illustrator since we will need it for posters or banners or flyers... It has to be rescalable to any possible size...
I want to make the picture on the left into the one like the picture on the right. These are not the pictures I will use but are some I got off the web.

I have a photo. I used the Perspective tool and it is amazing. I do not know how, and cannot figure out how to make the black part of the photo go away though. What to do?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI want to modify a photo of an embroidered patch of my club's logo to make the texture appear simply smooth, not embroidered. Unfortunately, we have lost the original artwork that was used to make the embroidered patch, but we have nice sharp photos of the patch itself. The photos are in both GIF and JPEG format.
I found Ofnuts' reply about how to [undefined=undefined]add texture, but I want to do opposite.
Is there a way to do that? And is it possible to "de-texturize" the entire patch, or would it be necessary to do each color separately?
I'm a new user of GIMP 2.6.11 for OSX, and I can't figure out how to make photo colors print correctly. My printer is an Epson 2200, driver version 8.37. When I print one of my old photos from Mac Preview, colors come out the same as they did when I used this printer from Photoshop 6 on my old Windows PC. When I print the same image from GIMP on the Mac (using the Print command, not Gutenprint, and selecting photo quality and specifying the right paper, etc), the colors are too far off for a simple CY, MAG, Y level adjustment to get back to what I expect. Under image properties GIMP says the color profile of the image is sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and the image appears the same on my monitor in GIMP as it does in Preview. But it appears GIMP may be using a different color profile for printing than for display. is that possible, and if so, how can I change it?

View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I am basically a brand new user to ai-cs6 and have been working on a project for a friend. I've drawn up the basic components of the logo she wants, all separate individual pieces. My intention is/was to trace in each piece, and scale, rotate, and clean them up according to how the final piece should look. Where I'm running into trouble is that the sketches are not point perfect, meaning there's some shading in the hand drawn, and the lines are rough in areas. I'm trying to avoid redrawing the pieces because we both are really happy with where they're at.
What I'd like to do with ai-cs6. How to trace very simply a one line vector of the outline of the image. So instead of creating a piece that has stroke straight from the scanned in artwork, I get a single line, with multiple points, that flows the simple shape of the piece. From there it seems it would be pretty simple to just increase the stroke weight and modify the style of line to make it look how we would like. except that since the sketch has some rough line sections ai-cs6 is adding either a lot of detail and making it look pretty rough, or it's missing entire sections and leaving them blank.
In the image below I have an aerial photo of an Island. I need to make it so as water areas are black and land areas are white (not greyscale) almost like a silhouette. My first plan was to draw round the island with a black paint brush and then use the "bucket fill" with a suitable threshold to fill all of the areas up to the black outline with black, however this doesn't work as the bucket fill either breaks through the black line or when I reduce the threshold, doesn't color the water areas solidly.

I have been using photoshop for a good year or 2 and have used the vector tools to create a number of vector images but nothing as detailed as this.
If someone could answer the questions below and maybe offer some personal advice that would be great:
1 - Would it be better to use a package designed for vectoring rather then using photoshop. I heard from a few people that Photoshop isn't the best tool for the job.
2 - How long would something like this take? A few hours? A day? Like i said i havn't done anything like this before even though i worked as a graphic designer for 8 months.
3 - Where would i start? Im thinking start with the dogs bodies, them move onto the coats (the coat with the number on it) etc etc, leaving the fine detail till last.
I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI fully understand how to change a picture into a vector in Ai and to be clear, I don't want a silhouette or a black and white image, I want to use the picture. I have had good success with using the high fidelity option to change the pic and it looks great. The problem is, I am using a cutout and when I use the high fidelity option it fills the background in as white instead of a transparency. I've even tried to hit the ignore white button but it does not work. I've resorted to then opening it in PS and removing the white and saving as a PNG24 but, when you then open in Ai to work with again it's then again pixelated.

I cannot make a plane parallel to a surface and through a sketch point.
I can't also select the sketch point or line in order to make an axis. the sketch point, line from the sketch or anything from a sketch isn't selectable.
I am trying to get a blur effect (Gaussian) on a vector image, and it is not allowing it to happen. It appears that it will only affect bitmap images. Is this true, or can I actually do the effect as I want?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to File > Save As an Adobe Photoshop CS6 PDF and then be able to open it and edit the text in Adobe Acrobat X. Whenever I attempt to edit the text it is a raster image and it doesnt matter what I do in the photoshop pdf settings.
I want to be able to do this so that the text is able to be searched by google / search engines when I make the PDF available online.
