GIMP :: Change Background Of Extracted Image Leaving The Logo With Same Colour?
Apr 5, 2011
I am working on an extracted image that contains a logo and a transparent background. I cannot figure out how to change the background of the extracted image leaving the logo with the same colour. I will also like to learn how to change the colour of the logo.
I want to edit a photo of a car so that the car remains in colour and the background changes to black and white (or should I say mono?). I have seen this several times and wanted to have a go myself. I understand that it can be done in Elements using layers?
If I have a red flower on a multi-coloured background, and I want to make the background black. I select the flower using the magic scissors (tried selecting by colour but nothing happened), invert, then whichever method I follow to achieve the black background, it's always the flower that changes colour, not the background. I've tried not inverting it, it gives the same result. I can only change the colour of the selected subject, not the background. I have followed all the steps in different tutorials, always with the same result. GIMP 2.8.4.
Is it possible to save an extracted image as a JPEG file with transparent background? I would like to use the following image of a Christmas ornament without the white background.
Using Photoshop 7 and the magnetic lasso, I had no problem extracting the original image from a white background. I then open a new transparent canvas and copy the extracted image to this canvas. However when I choose to save as a JPEG image, I'm back with the white background. I see in the Matte menu I can choose other backgrounds, e.g. black, grey, etc.. But is there any way to save the extracted pixels without any background.
The reason I ask is that I want to use this extracted image in PrintShop, a card making program. I would like to be able to insert the image of the Christmas ornament without any background. Very often in creating a card you've already created a colored background. It would be nice to be able to insert the ornament without the rectangular white background.
Basically, I am trying to process a simple drawn map that was scanned and saved as a PDF. The scanned image is old so the paper is yellowed and they scanned it in high res color even though the image is black and white (well, blue ink actually). I just want to make the background white and change the blue/black lines to solid black lines that retain their clarity.
Here is a portion of the image:
The left is the original and the right is what I WANT, but cannot, achieve.
My biggest issue has been pixelation of the lines. I just can't get it smooth like in the right image. I've tried all sorts of filters - blurs, smooths, sharpens etc.. Part of the problem is also the degradation of the image after I extract it from the PDF.
I created a logo and then opened it as a layer so that I can make a website header image. It is shown here [URL] and as you can see the background is an off-white colour. It is probably unnoticeable to many, but I would prefer to get it right. How can I make the background a pure white so that it blends in with the white of the wordpress theme?
what I want is for a single image that has a white background to be changed into an image with a transparent background. Just the white background, not the things in the image. (I mean like when the image is in a word document that has a black background, the image will only show the person inside it and the white background of the image can not be seen.) Is there a way I can do this on GIMP?
I was asked to cut out the background from a logo to make it transparent so the logo would look nice on a variety of backgrounds. I've been given a good quality jpeg file.
What I did was I selected (by colour) the background (white), inverted the selection, copied it and pasted as a new image.
It's all fine (the logo itself doesn't have any other elements) but there's still some whiteish/greyish outline around certain elements of the logo.
If I were to do it manually, it'd probably take ages. What would be the best way to accomplish it?
I received delivery of a company logo in multiple file formats. I'm trying to get the logo added on various sites across the web. How to get the logo to stand on it's own without a background.
We have the following formats: pdf rar ai png jpg tiff bmp and eps
The background is white and I just want that removed so the logo and company name stand on their own. I have attached an example.
I have a logo which ia transparent (psd file) that has some black color and I want to place it in a poster which has also black background color. So, I need to change the background color of this logo.
I have a black logo with complex lines, text, etc. The only copies I have of the logo are with a white background (probably from having been saved on a document page?). I want the logo to have a neutral/clear background so that I can paste it on pages with gradient backgrounds, etc. and not have the white show.
i am trying to make a blueprint out of 3 view image to be exported to 3ds max for modelling using Gimp 2.8.2.
I want the backgound colour to be a light shade of blue and the foreground colour (the black outlines of the aircraft) to be a dark shade of blue
I have separated each of the views into separate layers, then tried to add 2 new layers (one for the foreground and one for the background) but cannot seem to get the "set foreground/background" function to work. It just goes a shade of black all of the time irrespective of what colour i choose.
My background in Corel 5 is no longer white. It is a light yellow or cream & is very hard on my eyes Windows update downloaded an update for my monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 2233) & printer. When I opened Corel 5, I was asked what colour management I wanted, I did not know. I believe I selected "monitor based" or something like that, the way the question was, made me believe I was choosing the same setting as before. Obiviously wrong. Using Corel draw 5 help I selected "page background" picked solid: choose white but did not change. I then choose "no background" but did not change.
I am trying to create a logo with a transparent background for my website, so my logo can sit on top of background images. I have created different file, png, gif, eps all with transparent backgrounds but every time I upload it to my website builder (wix) it has either a grey or white background. How I would achieve the correct file?
I'm new this forum and I really need help on touching and improving of images. For instance, the image below - I would like to have a clear/transparent background so it looks like those photos that are featured in catalogues.
I scanned a logo that was designed with a pen. I've cleaned up most of the 'spots' from the paper, being not pure white.
Now, I would like to change the color. It was black, how do I change it to red or blue? I can't flood fill as you would imagine, because not every pixel has the same brightness.
I have an image open in Photoshop, rulers visible on 2 sides. I pulled out the bottom right hand side (as I look at the screen) to have the image float in the background. Normally my background is grey, but suddenly it's turned to blue.
how this happened - what I unknowingly hit - but neither can I work out how to return to grey.
I need to remove the '.com.au' from this jpeg version of a logo I have to use it for a magazine print file I am working on in indesign. I have opened the file in Illustrator (it is a very large file because it was designed for outdoor sinage.) and I thought I had better ask about the best way to do it without it affecting image or print quality.
