Apr 24, 2006I have a problem to do with zooming. Every second zoom I do the picture is pixelated. It doesn't happen in Illustrator, so why does it do this in photoshop?

Oct 20, 2008I created a Photoshop document, and selected the Ellipse Shape Tool. On the Tool Options Bar I selected "Shape Layer" I drew an ellipse, and a new Shape Layer was created. I then used the Zoom tool to zoom in on the edge of the shape. The path that defines the edge was a thin, sharp line. But the color at the edge of the shape has a pixelated, chunky look.
Why isn't the color at the edge just as sharp as the path? Since the shape's edge is defined by a vector, I would have thought the color's edge would be sharp, not pixelated.

Dec 14, 2012Whenever I have text, its always fuzzy or pixelated, its really annoying.I have antialiasing selected, I have changed the dpi, made sure it was at 100% and whatever else I could think of.Also, I think the background is also a bit fuzzy, so that's why I think it is the dpi or something like that.But it is always not 100% sharp.I have attached a copy of the back cover. Its the same for all though.

Every time I try to change the 2nd layer image to 100% then over lay the first layer, the first layer automatically goes to 100%. Is there a way to keep one layer at 100% and another at 45%?

When I have a filter window open, most often there is a "preview" window--of fixed size--which I can pan, but not so far not figure out how to zoom to see detail.

- be able to resize the "preview" window

Apr 16, 2013I have a Wacom Bamboo Capture, I'm on a Mac OSX 10.8.3, and I'm using GIMP 2.8.4.
The pen and tablet seem to work together fine, with pressure sensitivity and all, but when I attempt to use the gesture functions (such as rotation) GIMP doesn't respond.
I know the problem isn't with the hardware because the little "rotate icon" pops up when I do the gesture, it's just the way it is communicating with GIMP that is the problem.

-first, the new brushes flow slower than before- already at 3000-1700 pixels, 300 dpi. Which are modest measures when you paint seriously. I've some delay pulling a sign with most of my brushes. (Btw, i checked with care my brush dynamics). Some hints of what I should set to get a faster/natural flow ?
-second, the zoom wheel of my wacom tablet is broken with the update to xQuartz 271. 'Never had this problem before-damn, zooming ist important. I worked out some workaround using modifier keys (on the tablet), but its never ever so precise as with the wheel.

GIMP :: Unable To Use Non Default Zoom Options At The Same Time
Dec 27, 2012I like to use non-default zoom options like 35% and 75%, but I can't use them both at the same time, and whichever one I'm using disappears every time I open a new image or restart the program. It would be nice if the zoom was controlled by a vertical slider that can go to any number between 1 and 800, or at least 1-100.

There is a cloudy appearance over the subjects in the pictures that I have not been able to get rid of. Is there anything that can be done to the photo before scanning? GIMP :: Import All Pictures Have A Pinkish Hue
Feb 12, 2012I have a Canon Rebel t3 and when I try to import my pictures they all have a pinkish hue to them. I have looked at all the settings and they are all set to their default. So I went to UFRaw site to see if my camera was supported and it looks like it is not. I was told to download a DNG converter which I did, it was update 6.4. Unfortunately, when I try to open this it says "Update not applicable".

GIMP :: Scaling To Tiny Pictures
May 16, 2012Just a question about scaling and pixelation. I've been doing some 3D models in ZBrush at a 960x960 size, and wanting to scale them down to 48x48 size, very small icons for a game engine.
Anyway I started doing this with just normal scale in GIMP, but the picture just turned out like a big blur. With further investigation I found GIMP add-ons, Liquid Scale and Step Scale (I think that was it's name) where you can step down the scale of the picture and sharpen it during step downs etc.
Still not having much luck, I can get it to look better, but not good, still very pixelated and blurry. The required result I want is something along these lines - Picture
Using high res picture, I've tried PNG, GIF, PSD with not really much luck.

GIMP :: Text At Bottom Of Pictures?

I like it for cutting and pasting into new files but I'm having trouble learning the method of adding captions at the bottom of pictures where I'd like to place text of the names of the people above. I get text in black but the background stays the same as previous in the picture so most of the time it can't be seen. I really need to get this going in the next week or so as I'm preparing for an event where the pictures will be on display.
