I have a bunch of pictures that I want to add a template to. The template is basically a black border of certain width on all sides and certain text in the border. Is there a way I can apply a template at once to all the pictures I want ?

How can I create a dwt file for the production of multiple section views sheets in A3 format and 1/200 ?
Civil 3D Section .dwt (Template/plan production) has only layouts for A0 and A1 plan and scales 1/500 - 1/1000 and 1/5000. I tried to change the format to A3 and scale to 1/200 of one of those layouts in the set up manager but didn't get a good result while producing section sheets.
I would like to work with layers to create a new photo. I can open multiple photos, but I cannot seem to get multiple photos together in the palette. I just end up with a separate palette for each photo. With each indiv. photo I can make a layer, but I can't drag another photo into the palette, I can't cut and paste, etc.
I have viewed on-line tutorials, read two separate books and on-line help and they all seem to indicate I can just open multiple photos, unlock, layer, make alterations, then merge together. I can't figure out if I'm just missing a very important step or if I am having software issues.
This is probaly a basic question for the photoshop CS4. I have CS4 on my computer. I am trying hard to incorporte more than one picture into differnet layers so I can merge the pictures together as one. I have a book on Photoshop CS4 which shows what I want to do however I still cannot seem to do it. I open about 3 pictures I have saved in a file. I have them in the document of my photoshop page. I create new layers and I get stuck.
I tried copy and paste and I can't seem to get one picture in the right place on the document. I tried the drag and click and it will end up on a place in the background I don't want. The book I have does not seem to go throught all the steps clearly. I was wondering if anyone else has done this in CS4 and how it turned out. I need basic steps. It's been days trying this and I get more confused.
And can it be for more than one photo?
Also is it what the above are meant to be like, obviously the middle one needs tidying up!! but its how they are meant to end up....professionally like the sky sunrise and the magazine one of several actors together...thats what I want to end up achieving, like the mag and the sunrise pic. :-)
Also does it work the same in photoshop....I ask as i have that, but find it incredibly difficult to use..(that said I found the above hard, but seem to have cracked )
Is there any way to make a template? Say I have a made to order pair of shorts and want to be able to edit on different types of fabric, is there any way to edit the area on the shorts where I want to put the fabric, so I can do it with various types of fabric without having to spend a great deal of time?
On the same pair of shorts for instance, where the area would be the exact same of editing space I would need from the fabric pattern to edit on, is there any way to make a template of sorts of that space on the shorts to use?
Problem opening multiple pictures in Photoshop. I tried to Edit.
Purge>All, Reset Preferences, Delete the Adobe Photoshop x Prefs.psp folders and Ctrl+Alt+Shift on Photoshop startup. Did not work, what next? Delete all the PSP folders.? There are 45 more in my computer.

It already does have a 3D appearance with proper shadowing etc. I am creating a 3D book cover. So I only want to fit the jpg image I created,. the flat 2-D one, to my blank 3-D book cover template. I also want to add text to the spine of the book, or an image of this text if that's how it's done.
This would be the same process I think with any sort of 3D template and 2D image. For example, some people create boxes and other items in 3D. But I don't need to know how to create the 3D effect. I have five pictures on a page. They're so old I can't peel them off to scan them individually. If I scan the whole page can I capture each one individually.

I need to delete some files/templates.
When I first open Gimp I get a blank page, there's no template I have to create or anything, but when I try to open a new page to adjust other images it make me create a template, even deleting the background layer it starts with gets me an alpha channel.
Is there a way to open a new Gimp window without having to create a template? Like for pasting images into?
