In my picture, I want to use it in a Youtube video. What size is required for it to fit the screen? Also, I want to make one of my layers gradually move, is that not possible in Gimp?
View 4 RepliesI want to make some tutorial videos and post them to youtube but my initial results are NOT good. If I make a high-res video and then select HD mode on youtube it looks pretty good but then the video stops for prolonged delays. My guess is some sort of background processing going on at youtube.
Will full screen captures and playback on youtube be possible?
I'm using Corel videostudio Ultimate X6 and regularly record live bands, upload them to youtube after I convert them to a MP4 format using videostudio. A few months ago one of the venues installed a set of quick flashing lights, now my videos look blocky and you can't even make out their faces.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a video clip from FRAPS movies for uploading on YouTube. There seems to be absolutely no way to encode the video in HD. Either the encoding is extremely slow ans hangs at 4% without any further progress, I end up with a 2.5Gb file or I have to give up on HD and encode in 480p. Each and every format I try blocks the resolution at 720p or makes all options grayed out, not allowing, e.g., to change resolution, compression settings, etc. All MPEG profiles lead to 480p. All HDV profiles are super slow and/or result in 2.5Gb files. The QuickTime profile I tried would not compress the audio at all.
So it seems I have to produce a huge file with VideoStudio and process it with another encoder, which is just a painful nonsense that will degrade the quality of my output! I also tried the YouTube output, seemed to work, but trimmed down my video to 15 minutes. BUT WHY??? YouTube CAN accept videos longer than 15 minutes! Moreover, after all these futile attempts, the program crashes or hangs on me! I just don't know what to do next.
I shoot in 16:9 on the canon t3i, however when I upload my videos to YouTube there is a black bar on the left and right. The canon team said there should be a setting in premiere to make my videos full screen.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a new user of X4 and have used X2 for only about six months so some of my questions may seem lame, but here they are.
First, I upgraded to X4 to get rid of that annoying AVCHD blip problem (it worked). But, I have become increasingly frustrated that the quality of my DVDs are still fairly poor to my mind. I have been taking HD videos of my daughter playing soccer and the videos look good on my computer (in clip mode, anyway, as opposed to project mode, which probably takes more processing power than I have). However, they don't look that good to me when I watch DVDs I have created.
The camcorder is a Sony HDR – CX150 and its native MTS files are 1440x1080. After some reading, I discovered that standard DVD conversion plummets the resolution to 720x480, or 480p. So, perhaps that is part of the answer for why a standard DVD format of the soccer game doesn't look so nice on a 37" 720P or 1080i LCD Vizio TV? The 720x480 picture is being stretched to fit? OK, but why does motion look so bad? The image is decent when people are standing still, but I see a lot of blur and, sometimes, streaking when the camera pans or people start to run. What can I do about that?
I tried upping the bitrate for the DVD MPEG settings (from 6800 to 9800), but that did not work. I thought perhaps I could try making an AVCHD DVD using the 1920x1080 resolution and play it on my Blu-ray player (a Samsung BD-P1590) to see if that might look good. It didn't. In fact, it seemed to be the same or even slightly worse.
So, how do I get the good quality videos I am taking to translate to the TV screen? I have tried two different DVD players and TVs as well as my laptop.
I would like to know if I can make screen capture videos with VP3 like you can with camtasia or one of those. I'm ready to download camtasia but I wanted to check here first.

The first video is a surveillance camera video of a traffic accident, and the second video is a video of a reconstruction of the accident recorded later on the same surveillance system. Even though we can play the videos separately in court, the prosecutor is asking whether or not there is a way to combine both videos into one final product, thereby showing the actual accident side by side with the recreation.

let's say I want to work on an A4 page. I start a new PRINT document, and set the A4 size at 300 DPI. If I do that on Photoshop, I'll get a huge white page that at 100% goes way out my screen, but if I start a document with the same size in Illustrator, I get a page that's smaller than my screen (at 100%).
I guess it's normal because those programs might work in different ways, but I'm concerned about it because this way, in Illustrator a 1pt size brush will always be bigger than in Photoshop.
I've just reduced the size of a canvas from 300x300 to 200x200 but when I merge the layers I'm left with a dotted line showing the original size.

I want to create a template whereby I can make a series of images that I can save as jpgs, upload to my blog, and people can print them. When they print, I want them to be one quarter of a sheet of paper (fit four to a page).
I tried creating a new image using the "inches" specification and those inches seem to have no bearing on inches in real life once printed.
So then I figured that a sheet of paper is 8.5 by 11 and I want a resolution of 300 dpi.
So 8.5 times 300: 2,550 pixels. Times that by 0.25 to get a quarter of it: 637.5 (which gets rounded to 638 pixels).
11 times 300: 3,300 pixels. Times that by 0.25= 825 pixels.
So I put in for 638 pixels by 825 pixels and 300 dpi. I created my image. I saved it as a jpg at full resolution. I uploaded it to my site and tested out the printing.
It took up most of a sheet of paper. Not even close to being a quarter of a sheet.
I've been using 2.6 and created a template for multiple business cards on a standard 8.5 by 11 sheet. [URL]
However the later versions ... 2.8 cause distortions when I try to print. ( Canon MG 2120) The standard 8.5 by 11 mysteriously converts to 7.997 by 10.349 inches .... and a weird 318.870 ppi appears. This obviously distorts my template and the 2 by 3.5 inch cards become odd sizes. When I open the template in 2.6, it works perfectly.
What has happened to the later version? i can't reset to inches and even using the 2559 by 3300 pixils with the 1050x600 card sizecan't be printed accurately So I'm now creating in 2.8 and opening in 2.6 to get my sizes correctly.
I love the expanded tools for drawing in the 2.8 ... but this feature is a nuisance ... along of course with the terrible sizing scale for the brushes. SO hard to calibrate the smaller and moe common sizes. Another bad feature.
Have I missed some adjustment somewhere. Using the same printer, same download gives two different prints sizes in 2.6 and 2.8.
I want to use screenshots of websites in a web based portfolio. The images should be about 200px * 300px, or so.  I'm having a hard time producing consistent results when cropping. I can do a screen shot of the entire screen for all of the sites and change the image size. The issue with this is that the shots are so small that the detail of screenshot is lost. This creates a very low quality image.

I tried to solve this by cropping the screen shot to a only feature a portion of it which would produce a more "artsy" looking image that would show the details more clearly.  It was difficult to produce images that were sized consistently. There was no way to know what the exact size of the cropped image was.

Can I define a size for a mask and then apply it, or reverse it, to have a clearly defined size?
When our photographer browses his folders with pictures and double clicks upon one of them (jpg-files always), his Photoshop (he uses CS3 and Windows NT) always opens up the file only shoving it as 16,3% size (or such, I can't remember the exact number)
As a result the picture hardly fills 1/4 or 1/8 of the available space in the Photoshop screen, and he always has to click the picture larger before being able to work in it.
He has recently got a new - and more powerful - computer, and he did not have the same problem when using the old computer, here his files always opened to the maximum possible size.

I’m wondering if there is a tool on the Revit that enables displaying the actual printing size on the screen. This feature is quite useful as we can see exactly how the drawing will precisely looks like on the paper.

I'm used to a PC, but am having to use a mac once a week for a new job.
When I hit "Cmd -0" to view my image in its entirety, my background screen shrinks with it. Then, when I zoom in again, I have to expand the screen again.
I'd like to have my background to stay locked in the same position where I have placed it, with only my image file expanding or shrinking, as I work.
When i start a new document and select the size ( lets say for example 4x4 inches ) it appears smaller in the screen....if i put an actual ruler next to the screen it measures to something like 2x2 inches.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I drag a photo file to Photoshop, it opens in a size significantly smaller than the workspace. (This is especially true with vertical [portrait] photos.) Therefore, every time I open a photo (and I do this typically hundreds of times a day...), I have to drag the lower right corner way out to enlarge the frame, and then I have to scroll the mouse wheel to make the picture expand to (approximately) fill the frame. Only then can I see it well enough to make the required ajustments to the file. Isn't there a way to tell Photoshop how large I want the photos to appear in the workspace, so it opens every new photo file to the same size? I am using Photoshop CS (not CS2 or CS3).

I used Lr 3.6 to create custom (4 identical) photos to print on Kodak 210x297 mm (A4) glossy paper, using an HP 309a Photo-smart Premium inkjet printer. The size on the computer screen looks correct, in that the 4 pictures take up the whole A4 sheet. However, when I print, only one quarter of the photo paper is used, -ie., the 4 prints are all in one corner, and each print is like a tiny thumbnail. I have tried to vary the way I set this up by using different templates but nothing I do works at all, and I'm just wasting more and more paper.

Screen resolution is currently set at 1366 x 768 which is "recommended" I have reset resolution and restarted with each attempt at changing resolution... still get message..
Not a happy camper... Seems they should be sophisticated enough to check that system is set properly.... and if not, to give information on how to correct.
I edit an mp4 video and produce a new mp4 video. If I produce the new mp4 while I open the project, the screen size is normal. (c_not_use_batch.jpg) If I produce the new file using batch convert, the screen size is reduced (c_use_batch.jpg) However, the setting for producing the files are the same (c_setting.jpg)
The files and settings are the same. The only difference is using batch convert or not.
This happens to Video Studio Pro X3 and X5.
I make an image 15.8 x 29.8 and when it prints out on my canon 8300 it is only 15.5 x 29.5 actual size measured on the canvas. the image is designed to wrap over the edge of stretchers 15 x29. the pics are 3 tenths inch short!
another pic is 15.5 x 29.25 instead of 15.5 x 29.5 so it is 1/4 inch short the long direction.don't recall having this problem before so why are the images not the same size in print that they are on the screen?
