I want to be able to use a windows batch file to create a gradient for gimp.
My code is: Code ........
I have created a script to convert in a batch, about 2000 images, the problem is that gimp-file-save ignores image settings and uses its own defaults, so the image that has 6 layers, after being scaled, has only one layer!
the image is in format dds I am using gimp 2.8.2
the script:
(define (SECresizeTexture filename width height)(let* ((img (car (gimp-file-load RUN-NONINTERACTIVE filename filename)))(drawable (car (gimp-image-get-active-drawable img))))(gimp-image-scale img width height)(gimp-file-save RUN-NONINTERACTIVE img drawable filename filename)))
as you can see, this is a generic script, I would like to avoid using the specific dds load/save because of increased complexity and for being specific to dds...
is it possible to set some format based on the original file? I could use the dds file save, parsing output from "identify -verbose filename" (imagemagick), but that will be a lot of trouble...
Loading an existing batch file to AutoCAD2013 Lt. I have a toolbar that was setup before and I have a new machine, new cad etc and want to get everything back to the way it was.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem loading a 5.5GB PSD file. it's generated from Lightwave a 3D software but every time i try to load it i get the following message:
Error loading PSD file: Unsupported compression mode: 58596
i've done this before and opened 3 and even 4gb files and never had a problem do you know if there is a cap on file size?
The full my message I get is: "Error loading PSD file: Unsupported compression mode: 65409", do you know why? Is the file corrupted? Is there any way to recover it?
I don't have Photoshop, by the way. I use .psd format because I work on both GIMP and SAI. I tried to open it at SAI, but there were nothing but lines. The colors went missing.
I really don't want to lost the file, since this is something I work on for months. I can't redraw all the thing I drew since the deadline is in the end of May!
I am new to gimp and after using the program yesterday afternoon I went in to do some more work on the document and got the following error message: "Error loading PSD file: Unsupported Compression Mode: Error #43775. How to get this file opened? I was Opening As Layers.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to open an .AI file, and am having almost success. Instead of loading the whole image, it cuts off about 50% of the image, leaving just the center. I altered the rendering width and height in the Import from PostScript window and it successfully extended the image to include the right side, but the left is still truncated. How can I get this whole image to open?
I can resort to just mirroring the left and right sides to fill in the blanks, but I would really rather not do that if it is possible.
I am running Windows 7 64-bit, with Gimp ver 2.6.11
Is there any way GIMP can batch or copy metadata from one file to other file(s)? Specifically, a list of keywords from one image to other images that would use the same keywords.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe full message I'm getting reads: "Error loading PSD file: Unsupported compression mode: 60157."
Is there anything I can do to remedy this? I don't have PSD, so I can't open it that way...
When using command line gimp, is it possible to use *.jpg as the file name to have it process ALL the JPEG files in a folder? I'm really actuallyinterested in a simple file format conversion with no image processingapplied, specifically svg2png conversion. I know Gimp can render svg andcan save png, and unlike the next best program ImageMagick, the Gimpactually DOES NOT GLITCH the resulting image! So I've got a folder FULL OFSVG FILES, and would like to be able to just type "gimp convert -i *.svg-outputformat png" and have have it AUTOMATICALLY convert all my svg filesto png files. Is it possible to do this with such a simple and shortcommand line? I know the above exact example command line doesn't work, cause I tried it. But is there some simillarly simple command line code Icould use with gimp to convert svg to png via rendering the svg and thensaving the image as a png?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have about 160-ish images I scanned in as .tif's (my scanner offers .bmp, .jpg, .png, and .tif for saving scanned images as) @ 300-dpi. I'd like to batch export them all to .xcf (for future working with) and .png (I know I could have chose png to start but I thought .tif would be the better choice as a first format). Is it possible to do this with a shell-script? I'm fairly certain I could concoct something to .tif -> .png using ImageMagick (I don't think it supports .xcf) but I'd like to use The GIMP for the whole process if possible, and I'd rather not do it by hand. As it is I'm going to have to figure out how to batch-rename (well, I know how I'm going to do it, a shell script, but how to write it is going to be the tough part for me) about 100 if the images to prepend a 0 to the file name (I started with a two-digit numbering system not realizing I had so many images and would like to keep all the names listing properly on FreeBSD).
Anyway, If such a shell export-to-xcf-and-png script is even possible (I really, really do not want to do this manually).
I extract a displacement map from Mudbox 2012 that has just a simple sphere. Then in Maya 2012, I create a file node and try to load the displacement map. Maya crash.....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am a Retoucher and I have a new client that sends me 150 - 200 Real Estate photos per day. They shoot the photos so that I have 1 ambient exposure (Background Layer) and 1 flash exposure (Layer 1) which I then blend together with a recipe I designed for their look. I need to find a way to speed up the processing and although my action executes the look exactly how I need it in a very efficient manner the real time killer is the opening & layering steps.
I know this a long shot but my ideal solution would be to drag the folder of images which are sorted and/or labelled in the correct order in to a droplet and from there it processes the images one at a time but layering the files (ambient as "Background" and flash as "Layer 1"), running the action, has a stop-action on lens correction, asks me where to save, closes the image and continues to the next image.
Can't get Batch screen to load in cs6 from Bridge-Tools-Photoshop-Batch
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to replicate the problem, but it appears to be intermittent. It happens on multiple computers, we're using 2.8.4 on Windows 8 at the moment.
Scenario: GIMP is open with multiple files.
Browse a folder in explorer and select OPEN WITH GIMP or just OPEN. And a GIMP startup splash screen appears and reloads the GIMP application automatically closing and losing any work that was in progress on the prior GIMP screens.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed both version 2.6.11 and also version 2.4.7 of the Windows version of Gimp that I have downloaded from here [URL]
When I launch Gimp, and select File / Open from the main menu, neither TIF/TIFF nor JPG/JPEG files are listed when "All Images" is selected in the file type drop-down listbox. If I select "All Files", and then select either a TIFF or JPEG file, then an error message appears stating "Unknown file type". The specific types listed in the file type drop down list box include:
GIMP XCF image (*.xcf)
bzip archive (*.xcf.bz2, *.bz2, *.xcfbz2)
Dexktop Link (*.desktop)
G3 fax image (*.g3)
GIF image (*.gif)
gzip archive (*.xcf.gz, *.gz, *.xcfgz)
Photoshop image (*.psd)
I have read here: [URL] that, "Some of the file types, such as JPEG and TIFF, require extra libraries (described elsewhere)." I have no idea where "elsewhere" is.
I have completely uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled both version 2.6.11 and 2.4.7 with the exact same results each time. The program otherwise works as advertized, with no errors or problems that I am aware of.
Am I missing something here? All indications are that GIMP (Even the Windows version) natively supports TIFF / TIF and JPEG / JPG files, but that is certainly not my experience!
I am specifically interested in opening TIFF / TIF files.

I have 100's of flat images that I have to chop up into 3 parts and save as individual pieces to then load into a separate piece of software.
My problem is that when I start the batch, the 3 new images it creates for each image are simply overwriting each other when saving.
The options for serial numbers etc in the destination field of batch seems to only work for the original file opened, not the 3 new images the action creates/saves.

View 1 Replies View Related I have the entire subscription of 'Corel 6X'. I have been using it for a few months with no problems, even after I did the 8.1 update. Now all programs will load and run except for 'Draw 6X', it starts to load and then it will start to 'load environment' and then crash. As I said above, every other part of the suite open and run fine.
I can give you no information about updates or version as it won't load so I could check for updates. I searched for other post, and it returned no other similar problems listed for 'Draw 6X'. If I get no answers I'll just un/re install that program itself and see if that fixes things.
I am on a Dell PC with plenty of everything running Win 8.1 64 bit and running the online yearly subscription of 'CorelDraw 6X' 64 bit version that was up to date and working fine on 8.1 fine for more than a month. Now the 'splash' screen shows and gets to 'loading environment' and then the quaint Win window comes out 'There is a problem and windows has to close this program'.

I tried to create some keywords for photos, and save them into oringinal photo files by selecting photos in library then choose "Metadata>Save metadata to file" from right-click menu.
But, when I right-click original photo files in windows explorer and choose "Content>Details", these metadata set in lightroom doesn't appear.
is there any way to view it without any 3rd software but windows explorer?
I'm using LR4.1 on both devices.
I just bought a MacBook Air as my travel device. I have a Windows laptop that I use for everyday activities and processing. I just did a shoot and imported my RAW files into a brand new catalog on the MBA. I flagged picks and did some processing (both heavy processing and light processing) on the MBA. I saved Metadata to file, ejected the external hard drive from the MBA and then hooked it up to the Windows device.
Issue #1: I cannot open the new catalog created on the MBA on my Windows device. It just fails.
Issue #2: When I simply synchronize the drive to the Windows laptop, the files do come in and the processing that I did comes in too. However, the flags do not transport. And, any adjustments I did with the adjustment brush are not available for editing on the Windows laptor. (If I "reset" it does go back to the original RAW file, but before resetting, I have no access to the adjustement brush settings on the Windows device)
I have a VBA program that I'm converting to VB.Net. The program is a batch process that opens a an excel file, opens a template drawing, adds blocks (listed in the excel file), plots and saves the drawing, then moves on to the next drawing, and so on. In Autocad 2008 and previous version, the program ran in the background, i.e. I could see what was happening, but it didn't affect the running of other programs (like email). However, since switching to Autocad 2009 (and 2010, and now 2011), the very same program now steels focus every time a new drawing is created (every few seconds). We've been running this program for years during normal business hours, but have had to change to running them on a remote VM (which is slower) or at night.
I have since converted the program to vb.net, but I get the same results; windows or autocad keeps returning the focus to the autocad interface. When I originally started to covert this program, I was going to do everything in the database only (not the user interface), it appears that to plot, though, the drawing must be opened in the interface.
I can still run the same VBA program in 2008 or 2007 (if I re-install them) and it will run without steeling focus, but the 2007 file format is slightly larger and adds up with the thousands of drawings we are dealing with. And I want to move to vb.net and 2011.
I've installed CS6 (CS5 is still on the machine), and in the Bridge Menu, there is no longer a Batch menu item for initiating actions. In Bridge's Edit/Preference command, I have the Startup Scripts checked. There are no files in the "Startup Scripts" folder.
I don't see a "Startup Scripts" folder in CS5, only in CS6.I can still do batch operations directly from Photoshop CS6's automate window, however, I like the ability in Bridge to select specific files on which to run the action.
I am using window 7, 64bit with 8 gigs of ram. What is not understood in same results using the batch command, and manually re touching in CS5, but not the same when done in CS6. The results are different in CS6.
