How do I convert to CMYK mode? It is a requirement for a banner I need to get printed.
I go to Image->Mode and select a CMYK profile but it just prints an error'Destinatin Profile is not for FGB color Space' when I press OK.
I'm finally getting around to using 2012 and would like to know the correct way to migrate my 2011 custom settings. I seem to recall some one here saying that you can't just copy them over or you risk messing up Max. I have heavily customized 2011 and wouldn't want to have to start from scratch.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I upgraded to Max 2013, the installer created a completely separate 2013 instance, and did not upgrade or replace my existing Max 2012.
So now that I have 2013, how do I migrate my GUI settings from 2012 without having to go through all of the screens and tool bars from scratch?
I have set layer settings to a PLINE in model space. The layer is unfrozen and turned on but i cannot see the properties associated with the line, it juist remains white. for example i want the pline to be magenta and global width to = 2. After i set those properties the line will show thickness of 2 but not magenta unless i move the line a little from its position then it turns magenta. However if i do anything else to the line then it turns back to white.

They would like it so that all of their settings and preferences are copied over from their current version of AutoCad Civili 3D 2008. Currently the user has windows XP professional.
how to do this as I am unfamiliar with AutoCad.
How can I migrate my custom settings from AutoCad LT 2008 to AutoCad LT 2012?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI either have bad settings or have found a bug in 2012 when plotting parcels.
I have a P-drain Parcel setting for major drainage areas - I set the display to the C-PROP-BNDY layer which seems to be OOB for the entire 'property'. I create the parcels from poly lines on the P-DRAIN-AREA layer.
The parcels go to the C-PROP layer. My problem is that I can't seem to get the property lines to plot. I try to set C-PROP-BNDY to the correct color, yet when I plot, the lines don't show.
Just noticed 'use style library = No?' no longer exists in 2012 only 'read only' and 'read-write' are come uo when you RMB 'use style library' in the Projects dialog, is this correct or have I made an error during installation?

Using Building Design Suite Ultimate 2014
Consider the following situation.
Ortho - ON
Polar - OFF
A line is drawn parellel to the X-axis. What I have been doing all of my career to lengthen this line, by say 3 inches, is select the line, pick the grip I want to lengthen, drag that grip in the general X direction, type the value 3 at the command promt, and hit enter. Voila, done.
Now what AutoCAD is doing, is bringing the grip (yup, ortho is stll on) to exactly where my curser is, totally disregarding the ortho setting AND the value in typing at the comand prompt.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a little bit lost when reading discussions regarding the best way to have photos accepted by Istockphoto. They are extremely demanding about the quality of the pictures and they accept zero artifacts for example.
I read that any corrections made of a RAW picture in Lightroom 4 must be very minimal (almost no correction for saturation, vibrace, exposure, and sharpening, noise etc.).
In this case it would mean that Lightroom is of no use and whay not use directly Photoshop CS6 to convert the RAW photo into a high quality JPEG. If this is true, what are the best settings in CS6 to convert a RAW photo into a JPEG format ?
Taking existing blocks and converting them to dynamic blocks.? This will save a lot of time.
If this is not possible to do then where the instructions are for creating dynamic block in version 2012.
Is there a way to convert an Inventor 2012 view scale from "0.5" to "1:2" or similar within an iLogic rule? I can extract the main view scale and plug it into a variable but the format isn't correct for the drawings I'm creating.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThese are the reasons why I went back from GIMP 2.8 to GIMP 2.6.x:
1.) The free text field in the "Open file" view has been removed, or at least I couldn't find it. A frequent use case for me is to copy a fully qualified file name (i.e. including the path) of an image and to paste it to the "open file" view of GIMP... Not possible anymore? Why? Progress IMHO is if possibilities grow, not if they disappear.
2.) I open a JPEG and I want to save(!) it as JPEG. Why is GIMP starting to domineer over the user now (like e.g. MS Windows has been doing all the time) by changing the file type to XCF and forcing the user to "export" the image (that was opened as a JPEG!) if he wants to save it as a JPEG again? Progress IMHO is if things get easier, not if they get more complicated.
3.) The calculation of the image size of JPEGs when saving in preview mode is buggy, i.e. the size is way too high (GBs instead if MBs). Of course, this is only a minor bug which will be fixed soon (if it isn't already). I just wanted to note it.
Is there any way to take the settings for one user (windowed mode enabled and toolbar layout) and apply those to all users who then log in to the computer afterwards?
The setup for one user is not carrying over for all users. Is there a way to configure GIMP so that my changes affect all users.

I have just loaded 2.8 with much anticipation and found that the default toolbox is fixed on the right-hand side of the screen adjacent to the dock able toolbars.
Is this normal for 2.8? It seems weird that it would now be positioned on the right.
This is another of those things I knew how to do in PShop and am now trying to duplicate in GIMP. I have a photo of a flowchart drawn in green marker on a whiteboard. Photo taken with an iPhone, so quality is yuck. I brought out the greens with Color Enhance, but now the white board has areas that are yellow on the right and blue on the left.
How to target these "problem colors" and desaturate or otherwise move them back to white?
I have myself a picture of my kitcar which I am looking to change the colour of however I want to preview a selection of colours using GIMP to see how they look on the car.
How to "overlay" different colours on the car? I am not sure how to go about selecting just the body of the car so that I can overlay different colours.
I would prefer to not have to hand paint each colour over the body of the car.
How / where I am supposed to extract gimp-help-2.8.0.tar.bz2 file. If I can't get this to work, I would be satisfied with a pdf of the 2.8 help files! Just anything, because I cannot always work connected to the internet. My operating system is Windows Vista.

I've managed to resize an image, but I would like to use a filter from within the script-fu script, applying it to the image after it's been resized. More specifically, I'd like to run the Filters->Generic->Dilate filter on the image, before saving it. I've searched on Google for how to do this, but I can't find any references to using filters from within a script.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to make a flyer for an event i'm organizing. Found a low quality picture online which i used as background, asked the photographer if i could use this picture, and asked for that picture in high res. I received the high res picture after the deadline for the flyer, so i was forced to make a temporary flyer from the low quality picture. I made some changes to the brightness/contrast of the picture, and might have changed other color setting or used effects, but i can't remember which settings i changed nor the values i changed it to. Is there a way to retrieve this information from the picture/gimp so the colors for both images are exactly the same?
