View 7 Replies View RelatedI just got a new computer and use Lightroom 3.6. Now when I make a slide show and save it as a PDF it won't auto-advance to the next slide when running. When I review it in Lightroom it auto-advances fine but when I run the PDF file it sticks on the first slide and must be advanced manually. I believe I'm running the latest version of Adobe Reader as I just downloaded it last week when I got my new computer. how to get the auto-advance feature running like it did on my old computer?

View 1 Replies View RelatedHaving problems getting the advance key to highlight in this area. I have repeated these instructions and problem still is not resolved.
This is the area that I am having problems with. To customize a halftone screen.
1. Click File Print.
2. Click the Color tab.
3. Enable the Print separations option.
4.Click the Separations tab.
5. In the Options area, enable the Use advanced settings check box.
6. Click Advanced.
7. Change any of the following settings:
•Screening technology
•Resolution
•Basic screen
•Halftone type
You can set the screen frequency, screen angle, and overprint opt. ions for spot colors as well as process colors. For example, if you have a fountain fill made up of two spot colors, you can set one to print at 45 degrees and the other at 90 degrees.
How do I permanently turn off auto advance in Library? It seems to randomly turn on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need to apply individual unique keywords to a large (1000+) set of images. Is there a faster way to advance to the next image after applying a keyword than using the mouse to select the next image from the library browser? A feature similar to the Shift>[rating number] trick to advance to the next image while assigning ratings?
My lack of knowing this trick is killing my productivity by at least a factor of two.

As a pro, I crop all my photos.I normally use the forward arrow to move through each image, but with the crop tool the forward arrow doesn't work for advancing to the next frame. It only adjusts the crop. This is extremely frustrating for me as it slows down my workflow.
Is there a one key shortcut, within the Crop Tool -- that permits us to move forward from frame to frame?I wish the forward key worked for this within the crop tool!
Is there an easy answer or a way to format something in Lightroom -- so I can have a one-key method to advance frames within the Crop tool?
Is there any way to take the settings for one user (windowed mode enabled and toolbar layout) and apply those to all users who then log in to the computer afterwards?
The setup for one user is not carrying over for all users. Is there a way to configure GIMP so that my changes affect all users.
According to [URL] I should see a number of settings while exporting to png, but I get an empty dialog only with export, help and cancel buttons
While exporting to jpeg the settings are there. Do I have to install plugin to allow export settings png?
way to simplify the "save as" procedure. I found annoying to have to select say, PNG, from a long list... Gimp remembers the last filter (... reuse sharpen?) but not the last file format and folder?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had to make a flyer for an event i'm organizing. Found a low quality picture online which i used as background, asked the photographer if i could use this picture, and asked for that picture in high res. I received the high res picture after the deadline for the flyer, so i was forced to make a temporary flyer from the low quality picture. I made some changes to the brightness/contrast of the picture, and might have changed other color setting or used effects, but i can't remember which settings i changed nor the values i changed it to. Is there a way to retrieve this information from the picture/gimp so the colors for both images are exactly the same?
Flyer & original picture attached as example.

I'm just beginning to use Gimp with my Thinkpad x230. It's got a pressure sensitive stylus with eraser to use on the screen, and in ubuntu it's basically an on-screen wacom.
One of the greatest things about this is that I can use Gimp like a souped up sketchpad, I can automatically change tools to eraser whenever I spin the pen around.
The only problem is that whenever I change the brush size for the pencil, then move over to eraser, Gimp uses the brush size I selected for the pencil for the eraser tool. This is super annoying in practice. Is there a way for Gimp to memorize which brush size I want for a given tool?
Is it possible to have Gimp remember your settings from one invocation to the next? I get kinda tired of changing the pencil width from 20 pixels to 1 pixel each time I start it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice if there was a way to import all the Move Path settings for a project from an Excel-type spread sheet. It would reduce the irksome data input errors that I seem to make all too often. Plus, you could use the power of the spreadsheet to calculate different points/frames.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for information on how to edit the settings for the Filters/Decor/Add Border. I'd love to set this to a 2 px border in black rather then the bright blue 25 px border.

How to change the default tool settings in Gimp?
When I open Gimp, I want all selection tools to have antialiasing turned off, all thresholds set to 0, default brush set to 1 pixel, and erase tool set to hard erase.
How can I achieve this? (I use gimp for pixel drawings.)
I'm using the UFRaw plugin to GIMP for importing RAW images. However, if I do any adjustments for a particular image, UFRaw will save that as default when I import the image to GIMP.
is there a way to turn it off?
Is there any hint that GimP brush can behave like this: (for digital lineart purpose)
At the left I manually draw the line by using GimP, and at the right is MyPaint ramon/delayed ink/brush, but the problem is this ramon/delayed brush in MyPaint (for me) is too responsive.
I know Photoshop brush could do like this, but I don't use PhotoShop again after using GimP and never look back. =)
I have both GimPainter and Gimp 2.8 . I've try the Ink tool on both GimP, but it isn't what I wanted... I want Gimp Brush to behave like this.
I could paint this [URL]......using GimPainter, but I am suck at making digital lineart... (+_-)
A few months ago, I bought a book that had some Photoshop brushes on its CD. Inside the book, each brush had some vallues written under description, for Painter and Photoshop. I have heard that Gimp can import Photoshop brushes but are the settings equivalent to the pnes in Photoshop? Here are some examples of what I mean:
Brodery - Opacity: 70-100%
Flow: 50%
Shape Dynamics:
Size Jitter: 0%
Min diameter: 0
or
Canopy- Opacity: 100%
Flow: 50%
Shape Dynamics:
Size Jitter: off
Angle Jitter: 0%
Roundness
Jitter: 73%
Minimum:
Roundness: 62%
Texture: Wrinkles
Scale: 45%
Texture Each
Tip: On
Mode: Multiply
Depht/Minimum
Depht: 100%
Depht Jitter: off
Diameter: 110px
Spacing: 15%
Scattering: Both
axes: 0%
Count: 1
Other Dynamics:
Opacity Jitter: 0%
Flow jitter: 0%
Could all these settings be done in Gimp? Are they equivalent? How to use them?
Dual Brush:
Diameter: 110px
Spacing: 15%

I recently upgraded my laptops to Fedora 17 and Linux Mint 13, which now come with Gimp 2.8. After discovering that Save and Save as are moved to Export to and Export, I tried saving the default export settings for JPG. I usually set the Quality to 80 and make some other adjustments. However, the defaults always revert back no matter how many times I press the Save Defaults button.
Also, is there any way to make Gimp always use the previously selected settings? It seems that even though I set the defaults, with some images I open, edit and attempt to export, it tries to adjust the quality settings again. I just want to always have the defaults I have set for exporting jpg files without having to click an extra button or keyboard shortcut every time I save a file.
If there is a setting to increase the size of the icons for each layer.
So that when I am looking at all the layers in Layers Tab they are much bigger I can see them . what they contain.
I just can't really see much at the moment the layer icons are so small. Not really a problem but I'd like bigger layer icons.
I’m a long time Photoshop user but recently picked up LR4 to try to fine tune my workflow. I’ve noticed that after importing new files (RAW, I haven’t tried with jpg) into my library as I scroll through them (1-up, not in grid) the preview comes up and then after a second or so the WB changes to a much colder image.
Does LR4 initially preview at specific settings and then change to the individual image settings? Even if so, the final images seem very cool and I feel like I have to up the temp more than I should have to. My previous workflow was to sort in Bridge and then use ACR to import to Photoshop. I feel like I did much less tweaking of my WB this way. I feel like I’m starting from square one with LR4.
