Aug 5, 2013I am attempting to print an artwork that is 100 cm long, however when we get the print out, we see that it is not correct to size. Instead the print out is approximately 93 cm long.

Jun 22, 2009I used a commercial scanning system at the local library that saved files via THE GIMP as a png file.  I saved the file to flash drive and copied to my desktop at home.  On my desktop, the file is 21.3 MB in size.Â
I load it with Photoshop CS4 and immediately save it.  The file size is now 1.6 MB. I compare the two files side by side and find that the pixel per inch are the same on both (4720X4720) and neither is compressed.   Both images appear to be identical.  What is the reason for the dramatic difference in file size?Â
Illustrator :: Importing PDFs - Size Discrepancy Between AI And PS
Nov 22, 2012 I run a department that cleans PDF architectural drawings in Illustrator and Photoshop for use in online documentation software. I am currently working on creating spreadsheets laying out "if plan is 1/8" = 1', scale at 'X' %", etc, as up until now it is simply done by eye, but we try to scale up or down all plans to roughly the same size. While trying to determine a scaling ratio to create these charts, I realized that when I imported the same PDF into AI, it resizes the image, where as when I import it into photoshop, it imports it at full size. For example, I took the same PDF and dropped it into AI, and it was 2108 x 2881, and when dropping into PS it was 8788 x 12007
How can I import a PDF into AI and PS and have them be the same dimensions?I saved a GIF file 5,000 pixels wide, and it imported 5,000 pixels wide into both programs, so it appears I am only having this issue when working with PDF files.
Photoshop :: Tiff File Image Size Discrepancy?
Oct 2, 2012 I've created a mono, bitmapped image approx 400px square. Then saved the file.
If I go to 'get info' (I'm on an Apple Mac), it says the file size is 97k.
If I open the file in P'shop (CS5.5) and go to 'Image Size', it says the file is 19.2k.

Jun 19, 2012A) I am using a 825 pixel x 1125 pixel, 300 dpi photo (poker card size) which shows in the 'resize window' a printed photo size of: 2.75 x 3.75 cm.
However when viewing the photo in painnet on the screen, the ruler on top, shows something totally different.
A#1) Is it correct, that the ruler displayed, needs to be ignored, as it's not actual cm or inches?
A#2) Is it correct, that the size of the photo will be the one shown in the resize window only?
(Though I have experienced a discrepancy when printing, too).
B ) On the above mentioned 825 x 1125 photo I need to place another photo.
The size of that photo is in pixels: 213 x 312 pixel, 28 dpi.
Now, when I place this smaller photo onto the poker card size,
it's displayed, as if you place a stamp onto an A4 sheet of paper,
despite of the poker size actually only being 0.75 cm wider and the height being only 0.29 cm larger on each size.
B#1) Why am I experiencing such a discrepancy?
B#2) Is this normal, as the computer screen displays it differently,
CorelDRAW X6 :: Image Size In Print Is Different Than In Page?
Jul 17, 2013Haven't had this issue until today (after I installed the recent patches)
I created an image 3.004" x 2.0"
I go to print, select my plotter, select print range "selection", go to preferences>advanced, set my paper size to PostScript Custom Page Size, make my paper 3.05x2.05 for a little extra boarder. Back in Print I set my Layout to Preposition to Center of Page which un-greys the position options and now it tells me my image size is 5.1"x2.0 and the Print Preview is showing the center of the image beginning at the left edge of the page...
Mind you, this is the same style of setup I've done numerous times per day for the past 5 years with x6 and x4...magically today it does not center my select graphic to the center of the page. If I put the graphic in the middle of the workpage and tell it to position as in document, it is not an issue, but if the graphic is else where on the workpage, it refuses to center..

Oct 22, 2012I am making a booklet up. I have set the workspace paper size to A5 landscape. And set to booklet and facing pages, great, that is a whole lot of hassle dealt with.
But,
I make up my design, looks good on the screen. Export to pdf and print it off and it is printing one page of my work on a single page of A4 paper full size. i.e. I need it printed onto A4 paper in landscape so that I have a left page and a right page, that I can fold in half. But it is just printing like normal.
What do I have to do to get it two print two pages of information onto a single A4 landscape rotated piece of paper?

Apr 16, 2013I make an image 15.8 x 29.8 and when it prints out on my canon 8300 it is only 15.5 x 29.5 actual size measured on the canvas. the image is designed to wrap over the edge of stretchers 15 x29. the pics are 3 tenths inch short!
another pic is 15.5 x 29.25 instead of 15.5 x 29.5 so it is 1/4 inch short the long direction.don't recall having this problem before so why are the images not the same size in print that they are on the screen?

But when i try to see it in print preview it only shows my document between 3 1/2 ft. to 4 1/2 ft.

I do not have the facility at home and need to have them sized correctly for the print shop so they do not have to waste time resizing them. I am at a loss how to do this. I cant find any settings for this size print. A3 is roughly 42 x 29.7 cm.

Jun 13, 2012I have a template with layouts of different sizes that had been working fine with a previous Xerox 6204. My D size and E size automatically oriented with the 36" side parallel to the roll feed. I have since moved to a job that got a Designjet T2300. On this machine the D size orients the 24" side parallel. This wastes 1' of paper on the left and uses 1' extra as it runs the 36" side perpendicular. I have been unable to rectify the problem. I have tried printing in portrait, that actually cut off some of the image. I have tried all types of rotation within the driver and layouts. Tech support had me going into the machine settings and set rotation to 90. Nothing. There is a warning that "HP utilities" is not installed. Could this be a remedy? When the tech came to set up the printer he installed the necessary drivers but mad no mention of this utility.

Feb 17, 2011Our supplier sent us some wierd size pdfs that are not full size or half size. I am trying to resize them to full size pdfs (Arch D) but am unable to figure this out in Acrobat.
My work-around is to insert them in AutoCAD and scale them based on known dimensions, then print to pdf. Unfortunately the resulting file is collosal and the quality degraded.

Jan 9, 2003I'm using Photoshop 7. I create a new document 8.5 x 11 inches at 150 pixels per inch.
I draw a circle 1" from the top of the image. The circle is 3" in radius.
When I print the circle is nearly .25" smaller in radius and slightly less than 1" from the top.
Why is the output not in the same placement and proportions as the image on the screen?

I have an image I have sized to fit an 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Canvas and image size all indicate my image is sized at 7.33 x 11 inches. It is at 300 dpi. Print size view indicates full space is utilized on either side….BUT…
When I go to print, I click "scale to fit media" (which is an 8.5 x 11 paper sitting in printer) image prints smaller with a bar on one side. .

Jul 16, 2004The rule of thumb for traditional illustration work is to do the original about 1/3 larger than it will be printed to allow for some tightening up. My question is, when working in photoshop at 300 dpi, is there any reason to work larger than the print size?

Oct 17, 2013I want to create a template whereby I can make a series of images that I can save as jpgs, upload to my blog, and people can print them. When they print, I want them to be one quarter of a sheet of paper (fit four to a page).
I tried creating a new image using the "inches" specification and those inches seem to have no bearing on inches in real life once printed.
So then I figured that a sheet of paper is 8.5 by 11 and I want a resolution of 300 dpi.
So 8.5 times 300: 2,550 pixels. Times that by 0.25 to get a quarter of it: 637.5 (which gets rounded to 638 pixels).
11 times 300: 3,300 pixels. Times that by 0.25= 825 pixels.
So I put in for 638 pixels by 825 pixels and 300 dpi. I created my image. I saved it as a jpg at full resolution. I uploaded it to my site and tested out the printing.
It took up most of a sheet of paper. Not even close to being a quarter of a sheet.
GIMP :: Print Size Changes In 2.8 To Wrong Size
May 7, 2013I've been using 2.6 and created a template for multiple business cards on a standard 8.5 by 11 sheet. [URL]
However the later versions ... 2.8 cause distortions when I try to print. ( Canon MG 2120) The standard 8.5 by 11 mysteriously converts to 7.997 by 10.349 inches .... and a weird 318.870 ppi appears. This obviously distorts my template and the 2 by 3.5 inch cards become odd sizes. When I open the template in 2.6, it works perfectly.
What has happened to the later version? i can't reset to inches and even using the 2559 by 3300 pixils with the 1050x600 card sizecan't be printed accurately So I'm now creating in 2.8 and opening in 2.6 to get my sizes correctly.
I love the expanded tools for drawing in the 2.8 ... but this feature is a nuisance ... along of course with the terrible sizing scale for the brushes. SO hard to calibrate the smaller and moe common sizes. Another bad feature.
Have I missed some adjustment somewhere. Using the same printer, same download gives two different prints sizes in 2.6 and 2.8.

let's say I want to work on an A4 page. I start a new PRINT document, and set the A4 size at 300 DPI. If I do that on Photoshop, I'll get a huge white page that at 100% goes way out my screen, but if I start a document with the same size in Illustrator, I get a page that's smaller than my screen (at 100%).
I guess it's normal because those programs might work in different ways, but I'm concerned about it because this way, in Illustrator a 1pt size brush will always be bigger than in Photoshop.
Photoshop :: Spot Color Discrepancy
Oct 4, 2005My client gave me her logo in .EPS format, which I opened using Illustrator. The logo color was Pantone 274C. However, while working on the same EPS file in Photoshop, I realised, when I eyedropped the same color, Photoshop tells me its 2756C, and it does look duller in the workspace. I'm working in CMYK for both programs.
What could be the problem. Is there any way to solve this?
Photoshop :: Discrepancy Between HDR Preview And Returned Photo?
Oct 5, 2012I've had both CS5 and now CS6 on a Dell i7 with an HD5770 video card and tons of memory. For some reason I can't get the same kind of results that I see others get in HDR Pro. I've watched tons of example vids and in almost every example, what shows in the preview window is what is returned back to PS after hitting ok.
Not so on my computer. What my HDR looks like in the preview window is almost nothing like what it looks like when returned to PS. The contrast and exposure is usually quite different. The effect of the radius and strength sliders seems much more exagerated.
AutoCAD Map 3D :: Connect To Shapefile - Measure Discrepancy
Feb 8, 2013I used connect to data to connect to a shapefile of parcels in NAD83 TX-SF. When I measure a specific parcel with MAPDIST or MEASUREGEOM i get 140 feet but when I check the distance in ArcGIS I get 156'. The 156' is correct. It's not just that shapefile, the conversion is consistent with other imported data. The ratio is about 1.114
I'm new to AutoCAD MAP most of my experience is with ArcGIS?
Revit :: Discrepancy Between Part And Material Schedule
Mar 19, 2013We have tested the difference between wall material take off and material part take off of the same wall.the wall consist of 20mm render, 230mm brick and 30mm tile. Both give the same result.If we join a beam with the wall however, the wall material take off will give different result than the material part take off.The wall finishes in the material part schedule are correct, the ones in the wall matrial take off are off by 53%.
Please see attached file and "unjoin" the beam to the wall to see that both quantities are the same.Interestingly, the total volume of both schedules is almost identical, it is the subdivision that is completely off.
When setting up the material take off manually the material part take off is correct.I suspect I do something wrong. 53% off is not even usable when doing concept.

Nov 14, 2013I am exporting animated gifts out of Photoshop and wondering why there is a discrepancy in the display speed of the animated gifts when viewing on an i pad compared to on the desktop.
Specifically the i pad displays the gift quite a bit slower than in the desktop. so something that views on the desktop in normal speed is slower than desired on the ipad and something at the desired speed on the i pad is super fast on the desktop.
