View 14 RepliesI have these EPS files created using Matplotlib that I need to edit further. And usually Corel can import these files with utter ease, however, it really screws up the fonts for some reason. it gives me the standard dialog "Font substitution for missing fonts" and then proceeds to make the font-size at least 10 to 100 times bigger! What's really weird is that other programs (like word) have no problem with font and display it in normal fashion.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a client who is sharing a CorelDRAW file with me, but I can't find a way to import it into Photoshop. I know Corel is for Vectors, and Photoshop is now, but I thought the .pdf format would be compatible... I managed to import one pdf, but the colours were very distorted. A larger file just wouldn't open at all.
View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is very troubling. I work with Autocad files, currently Acad 2010 is being used in the office.
I'm trying to import a siteplan for coloring, and I can't get the darn thing into X5. I import as a .pdf (created from Autocad) and I get a "file is corrupt" error. I'm used to that in X3, with Adobe upgrading the .pdf standard, but X5 should be able to read these files, right? This is the solution I'd prefer as it would be a one-step process, all lineweights and text spacing, etc. shouldn't change from the original file. At least one would think so.
If I import as a .dwg or .dxf, I get the expected dialogs, but after the font-matching dialog, CorelDraw shuts down with no explanation! Poof! I've gone back 15 years saved the .dxf as release 14 and still, poof!
I'm going to have to use X3 until this gets resolved...
I have a problem. I need to redesign the catalog for a certain company. Actually, it's a minor update, but the previous catalog, only available as a PDF has many clickable links inside it. When I open this PDF in CorelDRAW X5, update it and resave it, the links are gone. Is there a way to import the PDF with links, and save it also with the same links?done yesterday

View 5 Replies View RelatedOpen a new document, file, import, click on the file filter type near the bottom right corner. The filter list begins with PPT (Powerpoint) and ends with XLS (Excel). There are 28 other file types between those two, all in alphabetical order from P to X.
All the file types from A to P are missing.
If I go to tools, customization, global, filters, in the list of active filters, they're all there (apprx. 60).
I've created a template and would like to import a PDF over the top of it. The problem is, when I import the PDF, the text jumps in the PDF as you can see below. As you can see the original file is on the right hand side.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got an SVG file, it was generated by a program which generates such things, its completely valid according to the W3C validator. If I try to open it or import it into Corel X5, X5 crashes. I send off a WER to Corel hopefully (it says it sends it but one never knows for sure.)
My system Win XP (32 bit, SP3), 3.5GB of RAM, 500+GB free hard drive space..Corel X5 - I am pretty sure it has SP2 applied it calls it self 10.2.0.661 in the About menu.
In trying to import image files in CorelDraw X3, I click to select file file to import and Corel freezes showing the hourglass and I get "not responding". It is locked!
All else works fine. I tried re-install, default reset and looked for any upgrades with no success. I'm running on XP Professional and SP3.
When we import a PDF into Draw, there will be a "Import PDF" pop-up asking whether we want to Import Text As - Text or Curve
Very often when I choose "Curves", it still prompts me for font substitution, while I expect whatever embedded fonts in the PDF will be converted to curve during import.
I wonder how this option is suppose to work.
how to import a large number of .eps files that are templates into corel draw x3 so that when I click create new from template, these files come up in the list?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just noticed that there was a specific help option in DRAW X3 for issues re Office suite programs, and therein was the claim that it is possible to easily import files from MS Office apps. Having had little luck in the past attempting to do this, I was skeptical. So far, all I get are msgs to the effect that this format file cannot be imported using the available filter. I'm just assuming that this means that perhaps doc files can be imported, but not docx... Is there a fix for this? The company is planning on buying X6 soon. Does it support docx imports?

how can i export my xara t shirt designs so that they can be imported into coreldraw, converted to outlines and mirrored so that the vinyl cutter can cut them?
i have been using xara as my main graphics tool for years, and i enjoy it. however, the person who's cutter i use only knows coreldraw as that is what is preferred with the Roland gx-24 vinyl cutters. i dont want to have to learn coreldraw.
i have loaded my designs as gifs, jpegs and bmps into corel, but even after using the 'trace' feature on corel, all the lines are not perfect like they are in xara. the cutter cuts the lines in a jagged way, and the curves are not smooth. save my xara designs as .cmx or .svg. i did that and tried importing into corel and i got an 'I/O Error', so that didnt work.
the only way i can get the straight cut lines is if i load my fonts into corel, and re-create my design in corel, which i just dont have the time for.
I use CDX5 and I can not import any Adobe Illustrator file. The Corel stop to work each time. I try to start the pgm with the F8 key, but no way. It doesn't work.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have just upgraded to Draw X6 and am having a problem importing multichannel photoshop .dcs or Illustrator .eps (with placed bitmap) files. When importing, the graphic appears upside down. Other oddities in this situation:
-This only happens to rastered images, not vector.
-If I try to flip it right-side-up the image goes blank as if it didn't get a screen refresh. But remains blank even with a manual refresh or zooming in/out, etc.
-In wireframe view it looks correct.
-It prints correctly also
Luckily, I can print the file correctly.

Is there a way to have CorelDRAW automatically convert imported objects to the document color space?
In "Tools > Color Management > Default Settings..." I have "Import and paste:" settings all set to "Convert to document color profile". Yet if I have a CMYK document, when I import an RGB JPEG, it will remain RGB.
Is there some other setting that will accomplish this? I'm constantly ending up with elements in both color spaces.
i'm work in society who make flags, and we use CVC Pantone of Coreldraw graphics X4.
Now we bought the new version (X5) and it's not the same parameters of colors.
For example :
X4
Pantone 485 CVC
C : 0 / M : 100 / Y: 91 / B : 0
X5
Pantone 485 CVC
C : 0 / M : 93 / Y : 100 / B : 1
How can i import the old parameters of X4 to X5.
Is there anyway to import or edit .dgn files in CorelDraw X3 ?
View 2 Replies View Related I recently started working with X5 and am having a few issues with the importing of palettes.I have created a couple of very large swatch palettes (about 1044 colors) in Photoshop CS4 and Illustrator CS4 that I would like to not have recreate in X5 (each swatch is custom named).
The photoshop swatch palette is saved as an .ACO file. I am able to open the .ACO palette in X5, however, the CMYK values do not match, and the custom name does not transfer.
-As an example, my custom black swatch in the .ACO file is called A1 and its CMYK value is 60, 49, 47, 100. However, when opened in X5 it is only identified by its CMYK value, which has changed to 29, 22, 29, 30 (which is more of a semi-dark grey than a black). In fact, all of the colors look as if they have been desaturated by 50-75% (that's a huge guesstimate on my part).
After struggling with my .ACO palette I thought I would try to import my .AI file.
X5 gives the option to open a palette that was created in Illustrator if the palette itself is saved as an .AI (which can be done directly from the swatch menu in AI. I have tried opening my .AI palette in X5- it allows me to chose the file, however, nothing happens.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI received an PDF file from my client's designer which was generated from AI. When I import it into CorelDraw, the bitmaps are in broken pieces, and the tone element is also broken into solid pieces.
I wonder if the problem is with the PDF or it's CorelDraw.
Any "fix" for issues with Corel PDF import "the file is corrupted" error? We do custom apparel and recently added an on-line design tool that exports in PDF. Corel cannot read the files so we are forced to import into AI then expert as an AI file to import into Corel. I am at the point where I believe if there was a book written with all the quirks of X5 it would be a telephone book in size.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat attributes of an .eps file will be incompatible to import into CD x6?
I have imported several of the free vector art found in various websites as .eps without issues, until this one. This one imports everything except the circular renditions of snow and snowballs. Gimp and PSE will import and convert the .eps to an image as it is supposed to appear.

I do not need these snowmen anymore, I found other candidates, and I believe I could recreate the snowballs with ovals and a meshes. I am more concerned about being able to import .eps files in general.
When importing .svg files into draw and illustrator the size of the objects is different. The svg files have been created with a dpi=72. Illustrator reads the file at that dpi so objects are the correct size. Draw appears to read the files with a dpi=96 which scales the objects down to 3/4 actual size.
Any SVG attribute that can set the dpi so that both programs import correctly Or is there a way to tell Draw to use a dpi=72?
I'm having some difficulty importing a pdf of a simple architectural drawing with 2 hatches. No problem with other pdfs made with my pdf995 or with the same original drawing to pdf minus the hatches. They are really simple small hatches and small files - 11x17 with minimal detail. The original architectural drawings are made in Turbocad then to pdf. I don't have an alternative way to check this out with another cad software.
Drawx5 crashes just after the dialog box for text options, then I click OK for font substitutions and it 'stops working'. All the same procedure works OK if I remove the hatches before making the pdf.
System is Win7Pro 64 bit, 8gb ram, 4 cores, 1gb video memory.
