When we import a PDF into Draw, there will be a "Import PDF" pop-up asking whether we want to Import Text As - Text or Curve
Very often when I choose "Curves", it still prompts me for font substitution, while I expect whatever embedded fonts in the PDF will be converted to curve during import.
I wonder how this option is suppose to work.
how to curve text within a shape, as paragraph text, not artistic text? (See my attached image.)
I have drawn the shape, inserted the text as paragraph text, but the text always wants to sit straight. I am so frustrated as I can find a workaround in either Corel or Adobe CS products. I have tried using artistic text in Corel, but have to do it line by line - and this brings other problems, such as I cant justify each line with each other, and sometimes a character jumps up relative to the other characters and the entire paragraph does not taper in...so this is not a solution, apart from the fact it will take me FOREVER to insert line by line....I would like to treat the text as a multiple line paragraph, and follow the shape.
I have the list of x,y coordinates for the CIE colour spectrum. How do I import the list so as to draw the spectrum curve?? The curve is the horseshoe shaped curve shown in the figure below [not the straight lines which are colours boundaries] that contains all the spectrum colours. Seems to me I should be able to import the list somehow and CorelDraw would then produce the line.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHere's a macro I've used for quite some time. Feel free to use or modify as needed. Install, select text and run. Hold shift and the selected text will round/curve more.
Why I created? I do a lot of graphics that need the top line of text to be curved. I can easily select the top line and press a button and the macro curves it upwards. If I need more curve I hold shift and run. If I need more or less curve still, I make the item in question, the text, larger or smaller. All done by eye and it's fast.

I've created a template and would like to import a PDF over the top of it. The problem is, when I import the PDF, the text jumps in the PDF as you can see below. As you can see the original file is on the right hand side.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a test bezier curve in Adobe Photoshop, saved it as a .ai file for import into Maya, and imported the curve successfully. However when I try to revolve it to create a sculpture, it revolves around a pivot point which is in the middle of the scene. Is this error because of the .ai file format? I don't have Illustrator as such, just using a .ai export from PSD so I can use PSD which I know better - to get the curve in the first place. Is there a way to look at the curve in an editor of some sort and precicesly locate the pivor point, reset it etc? The file is also not yet in a default project, as I'm just testing first. I am a rank beginner, having used Maya for 4 months, 8 years ago, and now need to learn the program for work.
Additional notes: I did get the revolve to work by manually moving the pivot point but it wasn't very precise, and I'd like to know how to do this ahead of time as I have to make quite a lot of these...

I follow the tutorial in the Xara Help, but cannot get the results shown. I draw the circle, compose the text, and set it to the middle Select both circle and text Arrange/Fit Text to Curve....the text appears around the lower, right side of the cirle After all this I am unable to manipulate the text (It's a piece of cake to do this in Publisher 2010, but it has some minor problems in appearance)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to fill the white area inside this curve and can't figure out how to do it. I read on a different thread that maybe the nodes weren't joined but I have checked each one of them and they are joined.
What I want is to be able to select that curve by clicking on the white area (like I do with the other ones) and then fill it with colour.
By the way, this is the first curve I have created, the other curves in the design weren't made by me. I really want to modify this particular area on the design.
How to equalize the nodes distance between the curve to apply the brush after making them break apart since here as per the curve size and direction nodes are distributed unequally. how to make them equally aligned.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI had done a logo in an older version of Corel, when I open it in Corel X4, the curves are invisible, and there appears to be no way to give those curves color. I can draw an independent curve and change the color of that curve, but cannot do the same with the existing curves from the older version.

After I cut a three-point curve through the middle the curviest part becomes really fat (see attached photo). I have not found options to tackle this problem. I just want to draw that half curve.
Another problem is: When I enlarge figures the wideness of the lines enlarge also. What is this? 0,3 mm wide = 0.3 mm wide. If after enlarging I try to paste the different figures together one figure has a fatter line than another, while the figures both indicate to be 0.3 mm wide. I cannot make the fat line thin enough because there is a limit in which you can make the lines thin.
I only want to draw an ascending sinus (growing amplitude) in a mathematical looking way.

But now - I would like to apply a fill, to fill the entire creation, including the outlines, seamlessly. Basically, replace the outline color with the fill, and the fill itself - such as linear fountain fill.

The first two steps are fine, but when I go to the third step of trying to draw a straight line after a curve I am having problems, it does not seem to be consistent - I click on the last node which then displays the line next to the pen but if I try to click for a straight line - it makes a curve!
If I use the Alt key and click the node, this also sometimes works but not always and I can't for the life of me work out a way to get it to work in the same way all the time.

i have tried creating a Path with half of a similar oval and then used the Type on a Path tool and i have tried using the Pen to draw a Path but it looks aweful and of course i hae tried the Warped Text tool but the only option for what i need is the Arc Lower which doesn't give the result i need no matter how i adjust the tool.
I'm drawing a steam locomotive builder's plate which is elliptical in shape (240x150mm) and I'm having trouble trying to get text to follow the profile of the ellipse. I've tried using Express>Arc-aligned text, but when I click on the curve the command line keeps telling me to select an arc. I've tried separating the upper half of the ellipse from the lower, but I still get the same "Select an arc" instruction. Here's a typical elliptical plate:

Is it possible to create text as in this plate?
Is there a way to convert to curve (with handles)? I Ctrl+Q on a object, then it say convert to curve. But it's a bunch of segments. When I drag them they don't have curve handles, they don't curve. I have again to click on a segment, a * appear. Then click To curve in the property bar.
Can I just put curve handles in one shoot to all the segments of a object (ex a square)? Without to have to do all 4 segments one by one?

When I select more than one (by marquee or shift key) it greys out the "break apart" command, and Control-K won't work either. View 8 Replies View RelatedI am trying to export my Corel Draw project to a PDF. Everything works as expected except all Curves with lens are not showing up at all in the exported PDF.
I have tried opening the PDF with several different programs with the same result. I have also tried changing the PDF export settings but haven't had any luck.
I have this weird problem where some objects won't work like the usual. The original pic is like this,but when I see it in thumbnail in windows explorer, some objects are missing but they're still there when you open the file!
I marked the status bar, in those missing objects it says "Curve on Desktop" while other objects of corelDraw, no matter what kind of file, they're always written as "Curve on Layer 1".
And then when I Ctrl+G all the objects above in pic 1, all those objects with Curve on Layer 1 and Curve on Desktop, it becomes like this: I don't know what happened. When I made the shape in the 1st pic, I used old file with similar shape, I only edit the sizes & the colors, but previous File is just fine, only this one looks weird.
