vba code by combining these two commands (convert to curve & smooth node)
to put them in a VBA Code for a separate module and to assign a shortcut and use them
For a monthly magazine on uncoated paper, our workflow is as follows:
- convert every photo to uncoated cmyk (PSO Uncoated) + apply some corrections to look nice in this profile
- apply a fixed correction curve to the photo's
- (resize images + apply proper sharpening for print)
- export pdf: convert colors to destination, preserve numbers
The correction curve step is critical. Without it, everything is printed much too dark.Unfortunately our printer can't provide us with a correct profile for the paper that is used. That's why the correction curve in photoshop is needed. The profile + the correction curve give a good, predictable result.
However i don't like the workflow with the correction curve, because only photoshop links can be corrected. We would also like to put a digital version of the magazine online, so i have to replace all links if i won't to have them displayed correctly.
Can i somehow combine the icc profile with the correction curve into a new icc profile?I did some research and found about "Custom CMYK" in photoshop (see screenshot), but i think an existing profile (PSO Uncoated) can't be edited or replicated in this dialog box.
Can I combine 2 shortcuts into one? There's a procedure I use repeatedly (in the absence of a vector blur tool in Draw) - Convert to Bitmap and Apply Gaussian Blur. The settings in the former would obviously always be the same - resolution, colour, transparent back etc.
Basically to be able to select the vector object and go straight to the gaussian blur settings.
I have 100 of pages of a clients logos, I want gather them into a single A3 page, normally we can do this thing by giving print command (Imposition tool in print preview) but we can get PDF output or can directly print it, but I require cdr, so is this possible? I tried making PDF and importing it into corel but most of logos not coming well bcz those are bitmap, some bitmaps are viewing as a horizontal sliced.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am somewhat new to graphic design and have a coreldraw design that needs to go to print. The company's Pre-Press Mgr sent me this message:
the background is made up of a million separate layers that each contain a clipping mask and an image. The file size is huge due to the sheer number of these layers and may have trouble trapping and imaging. The bulk of these layers and images could all be combined in to one composite background image to reduce the file size, trapping issues and imaging issues. You do not want to include vector elements that you want to remain sharp, but for the soft background effects it should be one composite image.
Does this mean to take the layers that make up the background and "Group" them and/or convert to curves?
I have created a macro to change the Country of Origin text in a cd label file and I also have created a macro to remove some guide rings in the same label file but I am unable to combine the 2 macros into one macro I can run on the cd label file. The code for each macro is as below.
Sub Rings() ' Recorded 27/04/2012 ActivePage.GuidesLayer.Visible = True ActivePage.GuidesLayer.Visible = False ActivePage.Layers("Guidelines_2").Visible = True ActivePage.Layers("Guidelines_2").Visible = False ActivePage.Layers("Guidelines").Visible = False ActivePage.Layers("Guidelines").Visible = True ActiveLayer.Visible = False ActiveLayer.Visible = True ActivePage.Layers("Graphic Elements").Visible = False ActivePage.Layers("Graphic Elements").Visible = True ActivePage.Layers("Guidelines").Visible = FalseEnd Sub
'TextReplacePublic Function FindReplace(ByVal str As String, ByVal toFind As String, ByVal toReplace As String) As String Dim i As Integer For i = 1 To Len(str) If Mid(str, i, Len(toFind)) = toFind Then ' does the string match? FindReplace = FindReplace & toReplace ' add the new replacement to the final result i = i + (Len(toFind) - 1) ' move to the character after the toFind Else FindReplace = FindReplace & Mid(str, i, 1) ' add a character End If Next iEnd Function
Public Sub TextTranslate() Dim s As Shape ActiveDocument.BeginCommandGroup "Text Translate" For Each s In ActiveDocument.ActivePage.Shapes If s.Type = cdrTextShape Then s.Text.Story = FindReplace(s.Text.Story, "Recorded in Ireland", "Recorded in China") s.Text.Story = FindReplace(s.Text.Story, "Printed in Ireland", "Printed in China") End If Next s ActiveDocument.EndCommandGroupEnd Sub
how I could (1) join the 2 macros above or (2) create a batch macro for each macro above I could run to update all coreldraw cd label files in a folder.
when i trace pictures in BW i often encounter a problem to extract so many small pieces in graphic in the same color.i wonder, if there is some hotkey ( by click :-) to combine together all vectors with the same color, and leaves the rest.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am Using x3(with all patches installed) This problem has persisted throughout all patches. Often times when I combine 2 objects, the clipping hole does not show through. The objects are combined, but they appear as one solid object. It only happens occasionaly. I have tried virtually everything to make it combine properly, but to no avail.

I have a shape created by three hexagons and they are abutted along edges. I would like to combine them into a single object and in doing so reduce the lines so that the abutted lines become one line. the reason is that currently they are processed twice along each abutted line by my laser.
I can use combine but this still leaves them as discrete editable shapes in node editor, so clearly the double lines are still there.
If I use weld I lose the lines.
I've been trying to fill the white area inside this curve and can't figure out how to do it. I read on a different thread that maybe the nodes weren't joined but I have checked each one of them and they are joined.
What I want is to be able to select that curve by clicking on the white area (like I do with the other ones) and then fill it with colour.
By the way, this is the first curve I have created, the other curves in the design weren't made by me. I really want to modify this particular area on the design.
How to equalize the nodes distance between the curve to apply the brush after making them break apart since here as per the curve size and direction nodes are distributed unequally. how to make them equally aligned.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen we import a PDF into Draw, there will be a "Import PDF" pop-up asking whether we want to Import Text As - Text or Curve
Very often when I choose "Curves", it still prompts me for font substitution, while I expect whatever embedded fonts in the PDF will be converted to curve during import.
I wonder how this option is suppose to work.
I had done a logo in an older version of Corel, when I open it in Corel X4, the curves are invisible, and there appears to be no way to give those curves color. I can draw an independent curve and change the color of that curve, but cannot do the same with the existing curves from the older version.

After I cut a three-point curve through the middle the curviest part becomes really fat (see attached photo). I have not found options to tackle this problem. I just want to draw that half curve.
Another problem is: When I enlarge figures the wideness of the lines enlarge also. What is this? 0,3 mm wide = 0.3 mm wide. If after enlarging I try to paste the different figures together one figure has a fatter line than another, while the figures both indicate to be 0.3 mm wide. I cannot make the fat line thin enough because there is a limit in which you can make the lines thin.
I only want to draw an ascending sinus (growing amplitude) in a mathematical looking way.
How do I smooth out a curve that has jagged edges after it is resized?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have some artistic text, that I converted to curves. This artistic text, included outline which I would like to keep with the text. But now - I would like to apply a fill, to fill the entire creation, including the outlines, seamlessly. Basically, replace the outline color with the fill, and the fill itself - such as linear fountain fill.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI cannot work out how to consistently go from drawing a straight line to drawing a curve and then back again to a straight line....
The first two steps are fine, but when I go to the third step of trying to draw a straight line after a curve I am having problems, it does not seem to be consistent - I click on the last node which then displays the line next to the pen but if I try to click for a straight line - it makes a curve!
If I use the Alt key and click the node, this also sometimes works but not always and I can't for the life of me work out a way to get it to work in the same way all the time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to convert to curve (with handles)? I Ctrl+Q on a object, then it say convert to curve. But it's a bunch of segments. When I drag them they don't have curve handles, they don't curve. I have again to click on a segment, a * appear. Then click To curve in the property bar.
Can I just put curve handles in one shoot to all the segments of a object (ex a square)? Without to have to do all 4 segments one by one?
