Any "fix" for issues with Corel PDF import "the file is corrupted" error? We do custom apparel and recently added an on-line design tool that exports in PDF. Corel cannot read the files so we are forced to import into AI then expert as an AI file to import into Corel. I am at the point where I believe if there was a book written with all the quirks of X5 it would be a telephone book in size.
View 2 Repliestoday i downloaded gimp 2.8.2 for windows 8, but when i tried to run the installer it downloads halfway and then displays an error message.
it says something in the style of: An error occurred when trying to copy a file. The source file is corrupted.
When I try to open this eps file it gives me a message that says import error I/O error? Never had that one before.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this happens sometimes when a file won't open after saving and closing it. Usually I can open the backup file with just some lost work, but not this time. Problem is this time it happened with a file I spend a long time working on. I tried unzipping and opening riffData.cdr with no luck. I've uploaded the file. It is a complex drawing with over 20 pages including vector and bitmap objects.

I just had a few RAW files from my 5D mk III get corrupted on import. Either half of the image horizontally, or the bottom right quarter is severly corrupted.
I tried converting these same files with the DNG converter, then importing, and they work fine. I checked before wiping the card!
Edit: Update: I also tried re-importing the files directly from the card into LR 4.1RC and they are fine the second time around.
I've been getting about one or two of these per 3000 photos recently, and obviously it's not a huge deal until it's the ONE image you wanted. I've gone back to the memory card and the file is fine when opened from the memory card and fine when I re-copy the image. Sometimes it's just the preview that looks like this, but when I open it in develop mode it's fine. The file also shows up corrupted when navigate to the folder and open it in photoshop.
This is a rather new phenomenon for me, last year in 125,000 images probably 3 total, but in the last month (10,000 photos) I've had 6. Is it the new version (4.4) of lightroom? Is it my hardrive? Is it my card reader? The only thing I think I've ruled out is my memory cards and camera.
I've imported images into LR4 from my External HD and and a few the files are corrupted. I realize that LR is not suppose to do anything to the files on the disk when importing... but I've checked the RAW images from back-ups and they are not corrupted prior to import into LR. AFTER import into LR the actual file (on the external HD) IS corrupted in both LR and then on the External HD.
My workflow has been to copy files from my CF Card to the External HD (Western Digital 3 TB) ino the appropriate file then go to LR4 and import.I replaced the Card Reader..same problem occurs. I've checked numerous RAW files in Bridge none are shown as corrupted (prior to LR4 import)
I am not much of a computer programmer, but an amateur photographer who just had the catalog with 1.5 years worth of my baby picture edits corrupted. I am so upset. I don't understand the SQlite program, I get a "syntax error" when trying to follow directions for fixixng it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been having some PDF problems today. Well, one has PDF problems nearly every day, but this one's different. Attempts to import/drag and drop a PDF file into CD are accompanied by this optimistic sounding non-error message:
I feel like I imported the same file yesterday no problem, but can't be sure.
As an attempt to fix this I have removed most other PDF related utilities, removed and reinstalled both CD and ghostscript, but no luck.

I am getting a File Format Mismatch error when I try to import .jpg , .png or .bmp files into Video Studio 5x. and 6x (trial version).If I try using the file menu (Insert media file to time linephoto), I get an error dialog that tells me I can't insert the file because of a few different reasons.
If I try using the Import Media Files folder icon, I get a File Format Mismatch Error. I can open these files with MS Paint as well as Paint Shop Pro so there is no issue with the files themselves. Also, if I just drag and drop the files from File Explore to the StoryBoard frame, I don't get any errors and I can render my video. Since I have two copies, I installed one on my vista machine and I don't get that error. I can import .avi movie and .mpg files with no error.
I also installed Service Pack 1 for Video Studio 5x. I am running Win7 64 bit home premium SP1.
I receive the following window:"could not import the clipboard because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered".
I delete the message and continue without any problems [that I'm aware of] but the message reoccurs.
Findin that Lightroom 4 and 4.1 are not importing video/movie files. Without exception every attempt made has resulted in an error.
In many cases just the first frame gets imported and converted to a low grade jpg image.
The same files import cleanly in to Aperture 3.x without difficulty.

While working on my Mac on a PBS file (just over 3GBs) it crashed while saving. Now when I open the file, it's a mesh of colors on the screen and only 1 layer and is now only 1.5GB. The file is stored on a WD Myworldbook and I have looked for a way to restore previous files but doesn't seem to be an option. There was no backup file made.

I had spent my artwork for many days with so many effort and time, and it has been corrupted after a computer crash (not PSD crash). I am using Windows 7.
-What happened after: 1 black layer (around 59 MB)
-What happened before: Had multiple saves, 15+ layers (so why it is not back to the latest save?)
I tried: Previews in PSD, Bridge, using recovery programs (none worked), hex editor, searched for temp./restore previous version files (none) how to recover this file.
My computer crashed today while photoshop CS5.1 was saving/writing to a psd file. When I started my computer back up, and tried to open the file again, It only displayed 1 layer shown as a corrupted image (As Shown Below - the Red Image). When I click on the file in the "Open" window (The Gray Image Below), the psd shows up correctly in the Preview window but doesnt show correctly when opened.
I have lost all of my layers, by the way I have worked on this psd for weeks and I need some way to recover it. I have tried "corrupted psd recovery programs", they did not work. I have tried forums - I found no answer. I have tried locating the .tmp file but it is no where to be found.
Does photoshop have a cache or a history? maybe for previously saved versions of psd files? Or does Windows 7, 32 Bit have a file recovery method? I have tried a windows 7 recovery method but it only recovers files from previous restore points that may be weeks old. This is very important that I do my best to fix this psd file or at least recover some layers, I have put in too much time and effort.
It happened already twice. I am working in one of my layers, I am changing the levels , the image in that layer gets black. I cant undo or go back in history. In the history pallette the original picture at the top goes black. If I try to save, all the layers get corrupted, with missing arbitrary squares in all of them. The first time it happens the missing areas where white, the second time they change to black. The top picture in the history pallette maches the black or white color.
The small picture in the icon in my desktop looks normal , but when open is tottally corrupted. If I have other files open, all of them get corrupted also if I tried to save.
I've got a project file that I've been working on for a few weeks. I made a couple of changes to it today and now it will not play through completely. It stalls right at the same spot each time and no matter what I delete in the project (trying to remove the offending element) it still stalls. What I mean by stall is that the player stops and the play button reappears. if I press play again, it plays a few frames and stops.
I'm using VideoStudio 4.

I've increased my virtual memory significantly and I've done disk cleanup.

I use CDX5 and I can not import any Adobe Illustrator file. The Corel stop to work each time. I try to start the pgm with the F8 key, but no way. It doesn't work.

I have imported several of the free vector art found in various websites as .eps without issues, until this one. This one imports everything except the circular renditions of snow and snowballs. Gimp and PSE will import and convert the .eps to an image as it is supposed to appear.

I do not need these snowmen anymore, I found other candidates, and I believe I could recreate the snowballs with ovals and a meshes. I am more concerned about being able to import .eps files in general.
I have X5 and win 7 64bit. When I open the import window the only file extensions I can select are pdf and the alphebet after. I do not show cdr or any extensions from a to p or show all files. If I look in windows explorer everything is ther and I can drag a file to the draw page. I tried repair and then reinstalling x5, still no show. I show the files being associated with the program.

That happened in the past but I always found a way to fix it buy copying uncorrupted layers to a new file. Most of the time it was just one layer corrupted. I've searched the forums as well as on other sources on how to deal with it. So far I've tried:
1. Check files on AutoSave folder. No luck. All 5 files gave the same message
2. Fix XML with XML wrench. Tried the "Check is Well Formed" & "Check is Valid" and both said ok"
3. Restarted PC. Same thing.
4. Move project and working files to other folders - same.
5. Created a blank project and tried to import sequence - no sequence show up.
6. Import from After Effects and Exported - no luck as well. Came up with a message saying there's no valid sequence.
