In trying to import image files in CorelDraw X3, I click to select file file to import and Corel freezes showing the hourglass and I get "not responding". It is locked!
All else works fine. I tried re-install, default reset and looked for any upgrades with no success. I'm running on XP Professional and SP3.
I have been working with both Corel Draw 12 and and at some point Photo Paint just froze. Empty main area, just one docker opened. Doesn't matter where I click on the screen, the same metallic clicking response. I uninstalled the whole suite and installed it again.
No difference, the same screen starts and the same freeze. I can only close it using Task Manager. Corel Draw works find and Photo Paint works fine on the other computer on which I installed it at the same time.
my major commands: (save, export, copy, etc.) are all frozen until I sign in, BUT when I attempt to sign in Corel error message pops up that I am not connected to the internet. I work at a large design firm and have full access to the internet, no firewall or anything and have no other problems connecting, so this is most likely a Corel issue and not my connection, I believe. Also, other people at my office have it installed and no problems.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI placed 385 bolts in my scene. I then realized that the bolts were high poly count, so I created a new bolt that was less than half the polys of the original. When I "replace" the 385 bolts in the scene with the new and improved one, MAX replaces them just fine, but all the bolts are facing the same way. Is there a way to tell MAX to look at the rotation of the bolt that need to be replaced and rotate the new bolt the same way?
EDIT: I was wrong. They are not all facing the same way. None are facing the correct way, and they all seem to be offset from where they belong by roughly 3 inches one way and 2 inches another. (I didn't measure....just a guess)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have centerline data from SHP file that I can either import or attach to. Has a few lines of object data with it including a centerline of road name. Each one unique. When I attach to the data, I can then "join" with it additional data from a database. When I select a line and look at the properties, it contains both the original object data AND the additional data from the database. SO far So good.
When I edit the style and try to add feature labels only part of the labels come in. I end up with a lot of them with only the letters "text" or just not there. If I right-click on the line and select "Show Data Table" I can confirm that there is data for that label. I find nothing in common with the map features that have labels, or don't have labels. Kind of random.
Question: If I import the SHP file and create object data I need to know if there is a way to "ADD" the rest of my data that is in the database to this object data. If so then I think I could define a Template and label each piece with the block with attributes. Is this possible? OR
Is it possible for me to export to a new SHP file after I have connected to the data (both shp file and database).
I cannot import my Outlook contact list to Photoshop when using the Share feature.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI use this feature often, but I'm not sure I fully understand it, because I don't know what the number setting (1-100) refers to, and I can't find an explanation of it.
Usually I'll select all the nodes in an object and move the slider to the right until I can get as many nodes to disappear as it will let me. (I don't worry so much about distorting the object because I like to do the final shaping manually using as few nodes as possible...) and I find that at a certain point on the scale it won't reduce further, so at that point I remove the remaining unwanted nodes by hand.
My question is, does the 1-100 scale refer to the percentage of nodes that are removed, and what's the reason it won't go beyond a certain percentage?
Sometimes when I power trace a bitmap there are so many nodes that i spend too much time getting rid of them all...It would be nice if I could get the "reduce nodes" feature to remove more.
Here I have some blue line features. Then I drawn another red line passing through these features. I am trying to cut blue feature wherever red line intersects. how can I achieve this?

I know I can hold down the "F" key to ignore, but seriously, this is a pain in the neck. Yes, I use Power clips extensively, but I need to control them instead of them controlling me.
Every since I updated CDx6, Photo-Paint no longer allows for drawing or erasing in a straight line by clicking, pressing the alt key and clicking again. Instead a scale comes up that changes the brush opacity...What happened? I can't figure out what happened. See attached file. The red arrow indicates what comes up when alt is pressed.

text box where I am able to quickly access all the text features, now since last update every time I make a text change in that window my text drops one line down and even though I will hit the cursor to front and back space it bringing it right to top when I hit OK it still drops my text one line down, this has become very annoying...
I love this feature but I am unable to bring it back to its original functional way. I did reinstalled corel , and yes I did reset the application still the same thing is happening.
I am using corel draw to run my laser engraver and I am trying to make a custom frame. Epilog laser.com has a tutorial how to do it, but I am afraid it is a tutorial for corel draw x3 or x4. I have x5 and when I follow the tutorial, I am not able to get the result I want. I find trouble when I try to trim out the images from the frame.

On one of my layers I have started getting "Feature was not saved in the target feature source" when I try to check in my data. In total there are 308 errors in the data table, all of which were features I deleted. They all have a featID of null and I cannot remove them from the data table. I need to fix these errors without going back and starting over.

I like to use the sharpen feature and the unsharp mask feature but haven't gotten very good at it. Mostly I'm wondering if there is a way to calibrate the sharpen function so that it doesn't sharpen quite so much each time I click it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was looking for a video editing program, and after reading good reviews for VSP x6 I downloaded the trial. It installed and started up the first time fine without any problems. I was able tinker with the program and began to like it.
However, I closed it out to take a break, then came back to it (same day, and hour later) now every time on startup it hangs on the overlayed "Corel Guide" flash intro. The window pops up and allows navigation of the "Corel Guide" and I am able to click-through of the links, but it will not collapse the guide or let me use the actual program at all. I also can not close the program either without using task manager. I am only on day 1 of the 30 day trial. I have attached a screenshot.
My cpu should be able to handle the program without a problem, it is running Win7 64bit, with 16GB Ram, AMD Phenom II x6 Processor, 3.20Ghz

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Render message that reads in red type "FTL: Virtual device creation failed." And I'm unable to click out of the message box, or click OK or cancel. Nothing happens. There seems to be a problem with my screen as well, it holds onto prior open windows and I'm unable to have a fresh window in Max. Does any of this have anything to do with os Windows 7 Home Premium vs. Pro or Ultimate? Even some of the tasks in Max don't seem to be initializing. For example, I tried to Manage>Set up Project and clicked on file in Windows 7 Home Premium and nothing happens.

I got about 7 shots deep and suddenly I can't "Play" any of the actions. I can't do anything with regards to actions. I do not know how to fix this! Essentially when I open up the liquify tool, even if I just press cancel, Photoshop will just freeze and I have to kill the process manually. I suspect it is a video card issue, so I checked and ensure the laptop is using the latest driver. Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family (driver version: 8.15.10.2869, ig4icd64.dll)
Since I am already running the latest driver, what else can I do to rectify this problem?
The registration screen is frozen. I restarted the computer but same thing happened. I cannot use Photoshop.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, same problem, I did change a preference for storage of photos to and external harddrive because of large files prior to any trouble is all I can think off ,but if that is the problem..how do I change that preference if I can't open the program, Im on a mac 10.8, its only a month old etc ..
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt occurs only in Corel Video Studio Pro X3 ... two extra (frozen) frames for free. In other programs all frames of my camera act correct.
At the beginning of each video file there are two extra frames at the timeline, so each video file starts with three identical frames and that causes each file starts with 0,12 sec frozen video.
When I remove the two frames, two frozen frames are added at the end if a file! In the end-product there are three frozen frames between each cut! And 0,12 seconds is visible …
When working with an xref background, we are experiencing really bad lag, and delays when working with objects that are drawn on top of an xref. I have restarted the affected computers, restarted the server that all files are housed on, upgraded the network switch...with no results. Tasks that should take fractions of a second, are sometimes lagging anywhere from 3-15 seconds depending on what layers of the xref are un-frozen and visible.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhenever I freeze an object, either with "Display Frozen meshes in gray" turned off or on, they disappear completely from the scene. Even though they are still there, because if I "Unfreeze All" the meshes will pop back in the scene.
Almost as if freezing the object also automatically hides it, which is very problematic.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a sub that gets a page number and a collection of layer ID's to freeze. The sub will freeze the selected layers in all of the viewports except for the new one.
After running the program, the layers in the specific viewport are still visible, but when you go into Model mode in the viewport and check the layer status, it shows the selected layers are set to Freeze in the viewport.
If I save the drawing, exit,and re-open it, the layers are now not visible. I believe I have the "Regen" in the correct spot.
