View 3 RepliesI have a 900 x 500 px image in Adobe Illustrator, which overlaps a bit the canvas on the left side.
When I open this file with Corel, it adjusts my graphics so that it's centered on the screen. The AI file is centered on another point. Also, the canvas Corel creates is A4 sized. I always have to resize the canvas and then manually adjust the position of my graphics.
Question: How can I save an AI file so that when I open it at Corel, the position and size of the canvas will be exactly the same?
I'm using CD X5, (I own it, not the trial download) and the Effects/Add Perspective menu choice is greyed out. ! Not selectable. I select the photo I want to change persp but the option is not available. I did reset the interface by pressing F8 upon load and it did change to default but still no perspective option.
Win 7 home Premium 64bit
I should add that this is the Home - Student version. Should that be any different? Nothing else has been ... yet anyway!
I'm trying to add perspective to photos (JPEG files) imported into CorelDraw.
I want to change a photo so that, rather than facing 'head on', it looks as though it is facing away at an angle.
I can skew basic shapes to give the impression these have perspective but I can not do this with JPEG files. How to acheive this in CorelDraw or CorelPhoto.
Is there some way to move the corner control points of the perspective effect grid via the arrow keys? I have hand problems and any time I need to move something very precisely I use the arrow keys, or risk hurting my hands. If not, would there be some way to do this with a macro? Also, is there some setting for it – other than having to hold down the shift and control keys while you click and drag, which is just a killer for me – that will arrange it in ways that are only symmetrical (where if you move one side the other side moves equally in the opposite direction)? As far as I can see, rectangular and freehand settings behave the same.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI placed 385 bolts in my scene. I then realized that the bolts were high poly count, so I created a new bolt that was less than half the polys of the original. When I "replace" the 385 bolts in the scene with the new and improved one, MAX replaces them just fine, but all the bolts are facing the same way. Is there a way to tell MAX to look at the rotation of the bolt that need to be replaced and rotate the new bolt the same way?
EDIT: I was wrong. They are not all facing the same way. None are facing the correct way, and they all seem to be offset from where they belong by roughly 3 inches one way and 2 inches another. (I didn't measure....just a guess)
I'm thinking that once the perspective tool is enable the starting/ending coordinates of the fountain fill should lock relative to the shape. What ya think?
As a work around you can position the to be perspective guide shape so the starting/ending coordinates of the fountain fill at least fall close?

In trying to import image files in CorelDraw X3, I click to select file file to import and Corel freezes showing the hourglass and I get "not responding". It is locked!
All else works fine. I tried re-install, default reset and looked for any upgrades with no success. I'm running on XP Professional and SP3.
I'm having trouble getting a perspective with art attached.
Check out the video, I think you can understand my problem.
I'm working on a sticker with a Big Ben style clock on it. I've created it using the 2-point perspective ability in Illustrator. Unfortunately, I've decided that I want it to feel "taller" than when I started, so I need to shift the perspective. However, when I use the Perspective Grid Tool and adjust the ground or horizon line, it only adjusts the grid, not the artwork. Is there a way to have the artwork adjust with the grid so that I can move the artwork around in 3D space to find the right perspective?

I am having trouble makeing this look right when the perspective is skewed a lot (see right brick wall), the left brick wall isn't too bad. I used an envelope mesh 1 2 rows and 1 column. Is this the only way to preserve pattern when skeweing an object?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI often want to extrude 3D type the non-realistic way -- that is to say, type untilted, with the extrustion extending geometrically in some direction (like 45 degrees) with no perspective illusion. Is there a way to automatically do that in Illustrator?
It seems the 3D Extrude feature requires that the type be angled for the extrusion to be visible.
I read somewhere that it is possible to tilt the whole perspective grid (like rotating), using the Horizon Level and Shift/Alt. This is not working for me. How to tilt the perspective grid.

How would I go about doing something similar to this in Illustrator?
How to use the perspective tool and i understand that i can draw a grid onto this but the grid always seems to be out of whack when i do and the line spacing isn't at all perfect. What i want to be able to do is draw a grid with equal spacing and have the ability to warp this so it looks all bent up going off into the distance.
I can see this is going to be something that i have to draw in manually but i'm kind of hoping that i can have the bulk of the job done for me.
However, if i do have to draw it manually, how would i go about spacing the lines equally along a wafty curved line???
I've an image of a picture and i want to add this picture in the perspective grid in illustrator. How can I add this picture?
Another question: If you write a square with the rectangle tool in illustrator and you select a face in the left up corner, is there a way to make the square how can i explain... You move the swuare on theat face with the mouse and when it reach the "border" it will start move on the other face, just like a wall, if you put a piece of pare in a corner, the paper will assume the shape of the corner. Is it possible to do this instead of create 2 square and merge them in the corner?
I'm trying to make a 3D cross section of a building in Illustrator CS5 and I've gotten a lot done already, but now I cannot transform the objects in 3D perspective space.
See Attachment: I can draw and position them in perspective, but when I select the "Perspective Selection Tool (red)" and select an object, the handles in the corners / sides are not visible anymore (blue).
how can i move or create object above the horizon when using the perspective grid? now when i create object on the botoom palne and try to move it above the horizon it just reaches the horizon and stops there. haow i am able to place objects on the top?
example: when i am creating a room from inside, a can create the floor an the walls, but not the ceiling?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to wrap some 2D text around an object, which has perspective. See example below:
The above is my attempt at wrapping the word "NEIGHBORHOOD" around the object. What I did was Object > Envelope Distort > Make with Mesh... and just approximated how it should look by using a combination of guides. There has got to be a better, more precise way of doing this in illustrator.
I'd like to have a document where I have type skewed on both sides of the perspective grid. I know how to put it on the left side of the grid: Create the type, get the Perspective Grid Selection Tool, select the type and bring it onto the grid and it skews to the angle of the grid. However, when I try to do it on the right hand side of the grid it doesn't allow me. It only lets me angle it on the left hand side of the grid.
How can I get it to write on the right hand side too?
Looking at the AI file available here (in the Public folder of my Dropbox), why the text takes a gradient when I place it on a perspective grid? I'm not able to see anything in the Appearance panel that gives me a hint. It may be obvious to someone without even needing to open the file . . . see pictures attached.
