I recently upgraded form corel 12 to corel x5. I used a specific colour palette for my printer. when i load up the documents used in corel 12 into corel x5 the colours revert to rgb or cmyk of a slightly different colour?
I need my old documents to open the same as they did in corel 12?
After making several adjustment layers, the layer merge is performed. However, it is observed that the colour changed after layer merging. It is confirmed with the histogram. This phenomenon also happens in layer flatten.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI moved from Windows to Mac. Today I imported a set of photos from my camera to my disk. After rendering all of my photos became B&W (LR4 changed color treatment of my RAW files). It surprised me a lot. I did it again and again. All my photos are B&W. I have to change color treatment in all of them. I would prefer my old importing scheme (photos are color after rendering). I did not use any preset and all oprions were as usual (only changed a name of photos).
I noticed that LR4 changed a few other options: decreased highlights by 100, increased shadow by 100, increased clarity by 50, changed tone curve to strong contrast, increase sharpening to 100, noise reduction to 40, and so on. Increadible! How can I came back to my way of importing?
My cursor/cross-hair suddently changed from Green to Orange. I don't know what it does to my drawing. I did not play with the settings... How do I get it back to green?

In addition, I also noticed that I do not get a textbox next to my cursor while typing commands. I love to have this back. How do I get it back? This affects me a lot as I can no longer see my scale factor and alike...
I have an image open in Photoshop, rulers visible on 2 sides. I pulled out the bottom right hand side (as I look at the screen) to have the image float in the background. Normally my background is grey, but suddenly it's turned to blue.

One of the most annoying and enduring features of VS - its been present in every version I have used from 11+ to X5 - is its ability to change a user selected text colour when entering titles, and be damned to the choice made by the user.
It happens when having entered the text of a title, one is trying to get a good readable contrast between the colour of the text and the background images it is displaying on. Selecting the text, a size and colour choice is exhibited in the edit panel. Selecting the colour 'square,' there are 3 choices presented - 32 simple ones on a palette or the choice of a much wider range using either Coral or windows colour pickers. Using either one of these latter pickers, selecting a colour and clicking OK inevitably gets a message panel that the colour has its been changed to something else. That sort of result is unsatisfactory, especially as it becomes a never ending circle.Corel may as well not offer the option for colour pickers at all as have the program do that.
This result has infected and frustrated every one of the hobby movie group I work with using VS as the editor. Screen colours are only pixels, and if a user makes a bad choice they can always change it. What options are available to to turn this sort of behaviour OFF??
All my PDF files have changed to CDR files, when exporting PDF it changes to CDR.

only thing i can think of is that my computer upgraded over weekend . automatic updates. I spent a lot of time selecting colors for my jobs i have currently going . A range of entertainment posters with a carnival theme and old school heritage colors.
I have lost the installer that I purchased to upgrade to X4 when I bought a Vista computer. I don't remember if there was a new license key, but if there was, I have lost it too. I still have the old version that I upgraded from and its key, but it will not function on my now Windows 7 system.

If I insert some text into my drawing using the Text tool, then grab the left handle and drag it in, I see the X-Scale: in the status bar go from 100% to whatever I drop it at. But if I go back to that piece of text, or select another piece that was compressed or expanded, and try the same trick, the scale factor resets back to 100%.
How can I determine the amount of change from the initial font the text has changed after the fact? None of the property boxes show you this information.
We hit a weird snag. All our text used to be 100% black (c=0 m=0 y=0 & k=100) On opening files the black is now a mixture of CMYK.We changed default color profiles last week. Could this effect all files? f so - what are the original clr setting for Coreldraw X5 or how can we reset them?

I thought it might be color management had switched somehow but all management settings do not make a change as they did before or at all. Basically I think the problem lies in the color management. I re-installed the program but the problem remains. Color management does not affect color appearances as they used too before.I run windows 7 and have had it for a couple of years with no problems.
I just upgraded to X5 (from X3). Many of the fonts that I have in my used are missing. I went through the Bit Stream Font Navigator and cannot located them there either. Many of my existing customer files require those fonts for use in their logos...etc. I also went to myfonts as indicated and did not see them there.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cleared the temp/cache on my Windows 7 64 bit that has been running CorelDraw Suite 6 since its release. Never an issue. Now, after installing the latest upgrade the program Coreldraw loads just fine and it opened my most current file. After changing a letter in the text box the program crashes. You get a popup window that Coreldraw has closed. I rebooted my machine and it does this each time the program is reloaded.
I went through the common causes of Coreldraw issues and nothing is left to remove or change. Clearly the latest upgrade is flawed and instead of fixing performance issues it has created one that stops the program from working.
I upgraded another computer and the same issue appears after the upgrade. I did a system recovery and now Coreldraw will not open .cdr files into Coreldraw. It now shows a filter error and no file will open.
I'm having problems updating.I downloaded the update, but when going to install, is still on the screen and the update does not continue the upgrade process.

When I open the fill command, I'm presented with a number of different ways to choose a colour, but I cannot search for one. I have the pantone colour 174U and I'd like to be able to type it in and have it show. I do not know the cmky, or rgb values. I can view all kinds of pantone systems, but they are not in numerical order so I can't search that way either. Is there some area I'm missing that lets me type in the 174U and it shows up?

When using Publish to PDF we need to keep our name on the colour CutContour. This works perfect on three pc's but on one pc, name is CutContour in Corel but on PDF it is renamed to C0 M100 Y100 K1. As I mentioned it works perfect on 3 other machines. In PDF settings I use Native colour. I guess it must be in PDF settings under colour. But settings seems to be the same.

I tried to replicate the background shown in this screenshot in CorelDRAW X6, but had trouble making the gradient, with orange on top then both green and blue beneath. While I can make the gradient use three colors, they are in a line, unlike the screenshot where they are next the each other both horizontally and vertically.
I'd like to ask if it is possible to change colour of outline according to filling. I've traced the raster picture (outline tracing) and there is no outline and the picture seems to be disturbed by tiny white lines. So I'd add hair outline and I'd like to have the same colour of the outline as is the object. Is there any function what is able change it at once and all at the same time?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've recently converted from X3 to X5 and I'm having multiple problems with colors, I'm running the current program on windows 7:
1. X5 is not remembering the colors on my X3 files, even though I have the custom palette open in X5 it's still coming up as CMYK when I look at the colors on the X3 file. Is this something to do with embedding color profiles on X3? If so how is this done? on X5 it's as simple as ticking a box when saving as. I've also noticed my custom palette is saved as .cpl file and the default for X5 is .xml, although X5 has opened up the .cpl file and it has converted it to an .xml file.
2. When printing an X3 eps file it seems to come out a different color to a X5 eps. This made me think that this must be due to color settings when converting the file to an eps, but the same thing happens with pdfs. Why should a X3 eps / pdf be printing differently to an X5 eps / pdf?
when I select some objects (could be in same layer or in diff layers), then go to lens docker and apply a 50% transparency, the areas of all the objects are changed to greyscale.
I can use the transparency tool and drag across for multiple objects and the transparency works great, but when i want to apply the same transparency to the whole thing (using the layer docker), it messes up.
... and when you go Ctrl-z to undo the changes, the lens docker doesn't update it's value to suit what the transparency has been undone to... so it's all whacked up.
I'm so sick of posting bugs. It feels like the functionality isn't tested very well at all.
I have found macro's to change specific RGB values to different specific values within a Corel file. I have not been successful in finding a solution on applying the same sort of change across multiple files. i.e. All Corel files within a folder will search for specific RGB's that I`ve told it to change to other specific RGB's.
I know that Corel has a macro that accomplishes a batch process where it will convert files to different file types.
Do you know if it is possible to use two or more colors with the artistic media brush without having to use the mesh fill .

I'm trying to print a document that has colour in it and when it comes out of the printer it prints in black and white. I'm not sure what the issue is or what I am missing.
My printer is Canon iR-ADV C5030/5035 UFR II.
A lot of the time I like bullets to be a different colour to their following text. In past versions you could highlight the bullet and pick a colour from the palette. You had to do it with each individual bullet which was a pain, but it could be done. Now if you highlight a bullet and then click a colour, nothing happens. I was hoping that this might be because they'd added a function to choose bullet colour elsewhere (such as in the Bullets window), but apparently not.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWe are just in the process of setting up Corel X6 for deployment in our office and we are trying to get a handle on the colour settings. We have upgraded from CD11 which had very little in the way of colour management and so we are somewhat inexperienced in how to set up.
We have two production printers an OKI 821 and a Ricoh C820DN which we print to using PCL drivers. We believe that we therefore need to use RGB as our colour mode and use an ICC profile for each printer for colour correction with colour management switched off on the driver. Is this correct? We've had a try this afternoon and the colours on the prints differ greatly from the display (which has been profiled using an xrite i1pro calibrator). They also differ from each other.
The monitor profile is set as the device profile in the windows colour system, and we are using that as our engine in corel.
Is it possible to transfer a colour pallet from X3 to X5?
