VideoStudio :: Text Colour User Selected But Changed By Program

One of the most annoying and enduring features of VS - its been present in every version I have used from 11+ to X5 - is its ability to change a user selected text colour when entering titles, and be damned to the choice made by the user.
It happens when having entered the text of a title, one is trying to get a good readable contrast between the colour of the text and the background images it is displaying on. Selecting the text, a size and colour choice is exhibited in the edit panel. Selecting the colour 'square,' there are 3 choices presented - 32 simple ones on a palette or the choice of a much wider range using either Coral or windows colour pickers. Using either one of these latter pickers, selecting a colour and clicking OK inevitably gets a message panel that the colour has its been changed to something else. That sort of result is unsatisfactory, especially as it becomes a never ending circle.Corel may as well not offer the option for colour pickers at all as have the program do that.
This result has infected and frustrated every one of the hobby movie group I work with using VS as the editor. Screen colours are only pixels, and if a user makes a bad choice they can always change it. What options are available to to turn this sort of behaviour OFF??

How do I see the object selected change colour dynamically as I adjust the colour sliders?
It seems the object only changes colour when I release the slider. But I want to see it dynamically change, so I can find the colour that works best without "hit or miss" - "trial and error" behaviour.
Yes... I'm aware some of you spend hours in colour programs creating a palette to work with. Good for you.
I'm just wanting to do it LIVE. Dynamically. In 2013. In Illustrator.

In Video Studio X3, it seems impossible to paste text copied from another program onto a Title page. I want to do this since I have 16 stanzas of poetry that I want to insert, each on its own page, or story board.
If in fact I cannot paste text, is there a format that I can use to save each stanza on a page separately in another program that I can import into one part of this program? Maybe in a particular file extension as a snapshot, video, etc.?
It would seem ridiculous to not be able to import a text document. Do I have to type everything out from scratch?

In an attempt to fix a corrupt drawing, a user changed the "Scale Z" value of All Blocks in the drawing to "1", and the corruption seems to have gone away.
Audit and Recover error reports were giving her an idea that the problem was related to block scaling, "AcDbBlockReference(xxx) scale invalid uniform", so in desperation she tried changing all the Scale Z values to 1, and it seemed to have worked, for now.
A lot of these blocks were in the drawing at the drawing plot scale, like 20 or 30 (civil engineering).
The drawing was quite old. Originally came from another firm, in ACAD 2000. It a large existing conditions drawing, that just went sour in the past couple of weeks. But now it seems to be working just fine.
This all led to a discussion on "What does the Scale Z value of a block mean? Why is it there? What does it do?" None of us know.
Is it at all possible that it really was the cause of the corruption? All blocks were in the drawing at an elevation of zero.

When I attempt to change my user variable "xyz", a linear restraint, by 4 or more, I get an error message, "A dependent expression cannot be evaluated. The parameter is used in an expression which results in an invalid value for a dimensional constraint." But I can change the value by increments of two many times and exceed the limit of 4, and not get the error message. What is happening and how do I correct this issue?

VSX5 .I click on the text, the size handles show, I right click the text to raise the font attributes box, I change the colour in the box + click OK. What exactly do I have to do next because the text colour has not changed and I cant find out how to do this…

I recently upgraded form corel 12 to corel x5. I used a specific colour palette for my printer. when i load up the documents used in corel 12 into corel x5 the colours revert to rgb or cmyk of a slightly different colour?
I need my old documents to open the same as they did in corel 12?

After making several adjustment layers, the layer merge is performed. However, it is observed that the colour changed after layer merging. It is confirmed with the histogram. This phenomenon also happens in layer flatten.

I moved from Windows to Mac. Today I imported a set of photos from my camera to my disk. After rendering all of my photos became B&W (LR4 changed color treatment of my RAW files). It surprised me a lot. I did it again and again. All my photos are B&W. I have to change color treatment in all of them. I would prefer my old importing scheme (photos are color after rendering). I did not use any preset and all oprions were as usual (only changed a name of photos).
I noticed that LR4 changed a few other options: decreased highlights by 100, increased shadow by 100, increased clarity by 50, changed tone curve to strong contrast, increase sharpening to 100, noise reduction to 40, and so on. Increadible! How can I came back to my way of importing?

My cursor/cross-hair suddently changed from Green to Orange. I don't know what it does to my drawing. I did not play with the settings... How do I get it back to green?

In addition, I also noticed that I do not get a textbox next to my cursor while typing commands. I love to have this back. How do I get it back? This affects me a lot as I can no longer see my scale factor and alike...

I have an image open in Photoshop, rulers visible on 2 sides. I pulled out the bottom right hand side (as I look at the screen) to have the image float in the background. Normally my background is grey, but suddenly it's turned to blue.
how this happened - what I unknowingly hit - but neither can I work out how to return to grey.

I'd like it if Paint.net's plugin folders were under the user profile, inside AppData.
Currently, the default method of trying new plugins is a bit of a pain, since every time you copy or delete the plugins, you have to go throug UAC.
Personally, I have made a symlink from under Paint.net's folder to my profile, but this only works on single-user machines. Additionally, every time I update Paint.net, I have to remake the symlink because the updater replaces it with a normal folder.

I'm trying to adjust the colour of my grid using the "Xustomize User Interface" dialog.
in Elements - Grids, I can only adjust the minor gridlines using "Set by intensity", or the major gridlines (0,0) using "set by color". There doesn't seem to be a way to adjust both elements independantly unless I'm missing something.

I have a problem to run Map 2013 today.
"System.IO.FileLoadException: Can't load procedure from 'MapPublishImp.dll'.File name: 'MapPublishImp.dll' in Autodesk. Gis.Map. TextEdit. UI.Map PublishHelper.Finalize()"
Fatal error and Map is closed..What I have done:
- Try to repair and reinstall, nothing
- Uninstall Map 2013, delete all program's and user's folders and clean Windows Registry, clean install of Map 2013, NOTHING (???)

I've encountered a strange issue in PSDs I've inherited from another designer.
When I have a text layer selected with the type tool active, the font size reads correctly (say, 40px). When I actually select the text with the type tool, the font size gives a strange number (say, 38.74px).

Is there a way to determine the type of ACAD object that the user selected? I need to retrieve the value from either a dimension or text. The info could be in either format so the lisp routine needs to determine what was selected so the correct vla-get command is used.
Once I determine what the object is I can use an if statement to retrieve the value.

I've selected a rectangular area of a jpeg and I want to fill it with a particular colour from another area of same image. Bucket Fill doesn't work here as it only selects from particular colours and shades in forground/background.

If I have a red flower on a multi-coloured background, and I want to make the background black. I select the flower using the magic scissors (tried selecting by colour but nothing happened), invert, then whichever method I follow to achieve the black background, it's always the flower that changes colour, not the background. I've tried not inverting it, it gives the same result. I can only change the colour of the selected subject, not the background. I have followed all the steps in different tutorials, always with the same result. GIMP 2.8.4.

I have recently upgarded from the 2.6 version to the 2.8, and I have serious issues with the colour picker. Every time I use the dropper to select the colour I want to use from a picture, it ALWAYS comes out as black, never as the colour I want to use (for touching up, etc).

I've just upgraded from VS 10 on an XP SP3 to VS X4 and Win7 Pro.
I take .TS videos from my cable box, convert it with VideoReDo to MPEG2, and edit/burn the resulting MPEG2 files to standard DVDs with VS. (Basically in VS, I use the cropping filter to black out the noise at the top of the screen, then add chapters, and burn without a menu.) Windows (File Properties, Details) always tells me that the TS and converted MPEG2 files have a variable bitrate max 15000kbps, and VS X4 says the same about the TS files, but it sees a MUCH lower max bitrate on the MPEG2s, often variable max 2000-4000kbps. (The shows recorded are standard def.)
On my old system, even though I always had the "Do not convert compliant MPEGs" box checked on the Create DVD Properties window, I guess it was always converting them anyway, because the green disk size indicator at the bottom would show that anything over 1 hour 20 minutes would need to be shrunk to fit on a single layer disc. But on my new system, even MPEGs that are 1 hour 50 minutes long are shown to only take up a third of a 4.7GB single layer disc (and only take about 15 minutes to render and burn vs. at least 45 minutes on my old system). Granted, my new system is a big step up from the old in terms of processing power and RAM, and if it was just the burn time that was different, I'd say, "Great." and leave it at that. But the DVDs I'm burning on the new system seem lower quality to me (lots of pixellation on pans/motion, etc.) than with VS10 on my old system, and I'm wondering if VS10 was somehow upconverting those low bitrate MPEGS to 8000kbps and X4 isn't.
If I uncheck the "Do not convert compliant MPEGs" box, the green disk size indicator looks a lot more like it did on my old system -- filling a disc with 1 hour 20 minutes of content. Do you think if I burned discs with the "compliant" box unchecked and let it "fill the DVD" so to speak, I would get better quality DVDs like I did in the old days?
The MPEGs are the same, so I can't figure out why VS10 never saw them as "compliant" but X4 now seems to -- to the detriment of my discs.

basically I record using the hauppauge HD-PVR which records the clips in the M2TS format. I've been using Videostudio Pro X3 to edit the files and rendering them and have had no problems until now. I used to render my videos using the WMV HD 720 25p setting and the quality has always been perfect.
Recently though I tried to render a video using the same setting and it renders the video really quickly and the quality looks terrible.How to fix it so it renders the way it used to or would know another format that would give me the same results?
I was thinking of re installing pro X3 in the hope of it working the way it used to but i don't know if i will lose all my projects that i'm currently working on.

I have to manually change the audio setting to capture from the system speakers rather than the mic every time I use it. Its nailed me on more than one occasion, going through hours of lecture and discovering I didn't get the audio.Is there anyway to change it so it defaults to the speakers? Record the speaker output I mean.

Is this something that is possible? Basically I have an excel file with sample data that comes coded (red background for fail, Green for pass) Then we transfer that into halos on a DWG. got a routine to count the halos in a DWG. Now I was thinking it would be nice if it compared the number to the excel file to make sure no mistakes were made when placing the halos.
So as I mentioned I've seen rountines to read data in cells but none to count cells based on colour.

Zooming the timeline by the shortcuts (keystrokes '+' / '-') don't work if you mark a clip or a title in the timeline and the library view changes by the new marking.
Example 1:
Select in the library panel the effect or title view. Mark a clip and the library panel changes to clip view.
Now the shortcut for zooming "keystroke +" or "Keystroke -" don't work.
Now mark another clip in the timeline where the library view don't change, the shortcuts work.
Example 2:
Mark a clip first and then mark a title in the timeline. Because the library view changed shortcut for zoom don't work.
Mark another title. Now the library view don't change and the shortcut work again.

First, it took several days just to get it to install. It finally installed after a sys restore and I was off and running. I really liked the package, especially Express. I played with it for a day, liking it more and more, and then all of a sudden it says " Corel has stopped working". Does this when I trying to do anything. Last thing I did was edit a few old clips and put them back in the folder with the originals (renamed). Could this have caused it? This is getting to be a High Maintanence program.

The user defined button is not available (greyed out).
