I have noticed that when exporting a Quicktime from release 5 the Background Process window wont show the actual progress so there is no way of knowing if it is working or how long will it take.

When I export a quicktime from colorbars (or any other clip) the levels are raised as opposed to exporting a targa or tif file. I tried it as uncompressed and png with the same result.

I feel like i used to get a "Pending Render" super over the preview player in the Library. For some reason i am not getting this message. Is there any way to check the progress of the Store Local Copy, or to make sure that smoke is actually storing a local copy? The engineer installed sp2 but I realized that the system has still installed the sp1, has it something to do?, I have to uninstall sp1 and then install sp2?, I mean, have I to install the smoke again? In the company where I'm working with there are two smoke systems and I'm opening the backburner monitor and appears the two systems, is it good?, The error that that the system has is:

PR5. Up until this release, I haven't had a problem exporting quicktime movies. I have a 2:30 long video that I'm trying to export with no success, at best I'll get 30 seconds of my project. I'm not as familiar with Smoke setups and preferences

I've cut a 23.98 1080HD teaser via imported R3D source. Brought the source in at half res, so a little bigger than 1080HD however have been processing re-sizes in SoftFX.
The program plays perfectly fine in smoke, but I'm getting stuttering playback anytime I export a Quicktime. It's a constant, intermittent stutter every second or so.
Every Quicktime I import and cache into my project won't play audio, even though the audio tracks show up in the timeline with waveforms and the seqeunce specs match that of the source audio. Apparently Flame users are having similar problems. I'm having to strip out the audio into AIF for separate import and re-sync.
Oddly enough, I can hear the audio prior to import when playing the preview clip in Media Hub.
I can't export to Quicktime - job permanently stuck waiting, tried the backburner rest suggestions but still no luck.
Frequent crashes as well as features not working - at PR4 I would have thought things would be better than this.
Exporting 25fps QTs using H264 1080i (10mbit) settings produces quick times that jump at the start and have strange frame rates (20.7 and 25.17).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am exporting a 2 hr movie as Apple Pro Res (LT). Last week this happened within 5 hrs but today the export is very slow. It renders about 20 frames and then stops, 20 more frames and then stop. This is very strange.

I cannot Export QuickTime any Codec ( h264 / 444 / 442 / mp4 / PNG / Jpeg )in Smoke for Mac 2012 SAP1 - Export Media.
I can export it before but not today.I get "Error Get Frame 0" - What Does is mean ? and What is the cause ?
I try to reinstall backburner(2012.1) and mio (2012.1) not work.So i can export in sequence format like DPX / Jpeg that useless.
Just Download Utility with same version of your Smoke and Reinstall : Wiretap Gateway/Wiretap Central/MIO and BackBurner.
is there a way to put a LUT on a clip, without having to 'bake' (process) it? So I can turn it on and off?
Our process is:
import R3E Raw files with User Settings in Red Log (so the image looks flat, with most color information).
then turn on a Display LUT (which settings would I use here?)
then do the color correction with the LUT on and after I'm finished, turn the LUT of and then export a dpx 10 Bit sequence to the vfx department, so they can work with it (in fusion).

I'm getting this error message when trying to render a simple cfx with a simple action node inside it. The action node only contains a photoshop file with one layer and the default camera moving towards the layer.
My media cache is set to Pro Res 422.
Where can I find some info on the process of importing Alexa material to Smoke? Is it as slow as RED material? I need to Color Correct 10 min of 2k material from that camera.

i have a rendering problem... rendering a cfx on the timeline keeps interrupting ... I get an error message "rendering interrupted. cannot process connectfx "
I tried to disconnect all footage which lead into action and rendered them one by one to find out which footage is the problem... the 5K red footage makes the problem.what I need to do is to auto stabilize the 5k clip (which was due to a bug(?) not possible inside cfx, so I did it with the desktop tools) than brought the clip inside cfx, added a modular keyer node, than a timewarp node than went inside action... than back to the 1920x1080 timeline
the problem started suddendy. rendering worked fine (keying the 5k footage, timewarping.. axis... ) ... than I added another media into action, did some axis animations and the problem started (but if I disconnect the media I added, same rendering error..)
what do you need to do to render/process all effects in a record timeline

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a MP4 directly out of Smoke. Surprisingly, the colors are correct, but the scaling is not. MP4 scales the image a bit up, and I don't know why. Is there anything I have to change in the settings, so the mp4 is the correct size?
In the attachment, the first picture is the mp4 and the second is rgb uncopressed (which has the correct size).

I'm trying to export a sequence and apply a custom 3d lut to it. I can get into the LUT editor, but I can't seem to find the option of loading a 3d lut. Is this a missing feature?
