I have a problem I created some drawings and made them XREF everything works fine until i try plotting them, the objects that are on the main drawing plot just fine but the XREF for some reason comes out faded not as vivid as i would like them to be. I already updated the drivers for my plotted it's an HP Design Jet 1050c it's an old one but the problem only exits when plotting drawings with an XREF.
I dragged a surface style from another drawing into the drawing I am having issues with. The Issue is that after inserting the style the Prospector and Settings are not expandable. The Prospector check box is grayed out and there are dots in front of the Settings tab.
Basically I can't expand either the Prospector or the Setting to edit surfaces, alignments, styles, etc.
When I have a drawing open in AutoCAD LT 2012 any xrefs are very dull or perhaps dark is a better description and on a black background tend to be very difficult to see. Is there a setting somewhere I can change to brighten up the xref?
I believe I have done this successfully before so I'm not sure what the problem is. Here is the situation.
AutoCAD 2013 Windows XP I have a drawing (Drawing A) that contains a PDF (using PDF attach) with text over the of it. I then have this drawing Xref'd into another drawing (Drawing B) in model space. When I print this drawing (Drawing B). The text prints but the pdf does not.
My problem is this; I have several production sets (Sheet Sheets) of drawings in which the referenced drawing's layers are not carrying over.
To clarify; In my base file file I went through and froze out and changed the color of several layers. When I reference that drawing into my sheet sets all of the layers are turned back on and set to the original colors. I should also note that the offending referenced drawing is also an xref. It is a large architectural drawing with several dozen nested xrefs refernced into a base file in which I have inserted blocks and symbols.
I've tried different VISRETAIN settings and other options. Nothing seems to work. I've also went through various forums and tutorials to try and solve the problem before I posted here. I'm at my wits end!
I have a Base.dwg where I xref-Attach a Proposed.dwg file into. I changed the Color=gray and Plot Style=Existing of the Proposed xref in the Base. Visretain=1.
I now create a Sheet.dwg and xref Base into it (and Proposed comes along too). The settings for Proposed are not what I have set in the Base file, they are what's in the original Proposed file.
Can I get these settings to come through? I cannot go into the original Proposed file and change settings.

When I open a file in ACAD2013/ACAD2013LT I can't see some XREFs created in ACAD2012LT. XREF command cannot resove it either. It will show path correctly.
I am difficulty getting the options dialog box to open (under the file menu "red A" dropdown list, options button). When I click on it, all of the buttons on top go gray and nothing appears. When I click on the black workspace, I get a compluter bell sound.
What I've tried to do to solve the problem is restart the computer and shutdown the computer.
Titleblocks are drawing files with the floors xref'd in.
It's a pretty regular aggregate xref method.
I have a sheet with a roof plan.
The third floor (unique xref - attach) has vpcolours assigned to layers so that the walls show greyed out, for routing roof drains.
If I plot this sheet on it's own, the walls below show.
If I plot the whole set by shift clicking the drawings in the sheet set, and choosing publish to PDF, this drawing doesn't show. I get the roof plan without the xref'd walls below showing.
I'd like to issue one pdf file of the whole set, but this one sheet in the middle isn't showing. I don't have an adobe suite to plot the roof plan on it's own and cut it in for the wrong one because $1500.00
I'd like to be able to plot the draiwng correctly from AutoCAD.
I am using LR 4.1, and PS6 with ACR 7.1, although I have this same issue PS 5.1 and ACR 6.7. I select "edit in Photoshop", and when finished save as a tiff (same problem with PSD) in the same folder where the raw file (in my case CR2) is. The saved tiff looks far different from the way it looked in PS. Typically it is much lighter. In fact, I can select "edit in Photoshop", do nothing in PS, save as a tiff the same thing occurs. If I save the tiff to another folder, there is no change. So, it appears LR is modifying the tiff image in some way when saving. This is with Windows 7 and ProPhoto RGB in both LR and PS.
I have a drawing that I created with acad 2010 that has a pdf xref attached. I just updated to 2013. And now when I go to plot the drawing my xref shows up in preview but doesn't show up on the plot.
I can go back to my 2010 version, and it plots fine. What gives?
It's a GeForce 7300 (7series) Graphic card and Photoshop doesn't recognize it what can I do? ..and If it is not possible to fix it? Tell me what graphic card I can use .... for 3d options (ASUS P5G41T-M LX motherboard)
I just download my Revit 2012 and the Project Browser does not show options for Elevations and Sections. It only shows Floor Plan and Ceiling Plans. When trying to bring Windows or Door, it says it is not loaded. It asking if I want load it. Well! The next step has 20 something options but nothing to do with Windows or Doors. How to get out of this Nightmare?
In LDDT, I was able to create points and manually assign a point number.
I know in Civil 3D 2013, i can assign a point number also by changing a toggle under Point Creation Tools to False.
My problem is that everytime I close out of that box and get back in, it reverts the toggle back to TRUE so I have to keep changing it back to False as well as the Next Point Number. In the above example, the Next Point Number should be 1147 (which is after my manually created point 1146) but it keeps going back to 33 which is the next available number after #1.
I'm running LT 2014 at Win7 x64 and have a problem with Xerox WF 6604 custom size paper settings.
Simply say when I change custom printer size at the printer's driver settings and confirm all dialogs nothing happend and LT use default settings. No dialog about new or temporary PC3 appear so looks that ACAD doesnt know about change at the printer driver?
This problem isn't continual but, for example, I printed something from the same dwg twice, but when third one change was set the very problem will appear and ACAD doesn't register changes.
I recently noticed that Channels-settings in both Group Properties and Blending Options are lost when changing a file from 8bit to 16bit and vice versa.
I'm having a difficult time figuring out why my PS CS5 is not loading my brushes properly.
I see the brushes however Photoshop does not load their settings. They all are flate and hard.
All my brushes before in PS CS2 worked properly so I don't understand why CS5 is not. And I have loaded CS5 brushes and still does not read their settings.
Do I have to do something first before loading the brushes?
