View 9 RepliesI'd like to know how to align an object in model space with the edge of my viewport in paperspace.
When I draw, I like to lay out multiple complete drawings in model space, make an appropriately scaled bounding box around them, and then snap a view port to the bounding box in my layout. I usually have multiple drawings lined up in a row in modelspace, so when I want a new layout I do a Save As and then pan around in my viewport to find the next bounding box, at which point I have to resize the viewport to get it to snap to the edges nicely. I really want to be able to to it the otehr way around- while panning I'd like to be able to grab a corner of my modelspace bouding box and snap it to the the corresponding corner of my viewport window. That way making new layouts would be a snap. Is there a way to do this in AutoCAD 2012 LT?
I have lost all my objects in paperspace . The layers for the objects are still there, my viewport is there and working just can't see the border.
this problem is keeping coming back. Working Autocad 2010 on windows xp.
how you get objects, say i drew a rectangle, to the correct size from model space to paper space. And why when you change the dimensions of an object to meters from milimeters, does it not change the size of the object on paperspace when it's at the same scale.

When the piping group xrefs our model into their model (in regular AutoCAD) to add their pipe, the AEC steel behaves properly in model space, but when they go to dimension in paperspace (for example from the center of their pipe to the face of a column) osnap does not recognize the AEC steel geometry.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi'm cleaning up some CAD files i was given. in model space everything's on one layer and there's a lot of stuff that overlaps/sits on top of each other.
there are like 50 associated paper space sheets.
is there a way for me to drag these objects out without affecting the viewports in paperspace?
i could probably start putting everything on layers and turning them off, but i generally like to be able to lay everything out so i can see it all at the same time.
Since I installed 2010, I noticed that OSNAP seems to want to snap to objects in model space that are outside of the viewport while I am in paper space. It seems to only happen with polygonal viewports.

I switch to paperspace and go to layer properties and highlight all layers and then turn on all layers in he drawing and thaw in all three columns and still the room numbers do not show. The layer listed in model space is on and thawed. Why won't it show?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor a while I've been using Wipeout in paperspace to surround the title block in order for the underlying modelspace objects not to shine through. Suddenly this doesn't work anymore - i.e. modelspace objects are visible no matter what. I've been playing around with the bring to front / send to back commands, but to no avail. I

Then No save.I am trying to find a way to identify these objects..
I'm working on a routine to find orphaned objects in .idw files. So far, I've found it relatively simple to find orphaned dimensions, balloons, surface texture symbols and centerlines/marks, but I'm having trouble with leaders (such as for tapped holes, etc.) and weld symbols.
I've tried iterating through a drawing's SketchedSymbols collection, but it seems that this collection always has zero size, and unlike the items I've been successful with so far, I cannot find a specific collection for those items either within the sheet or drawingview objects.
I'm still bouncing back and forth from 2008 LDD and 2010 3D.
I can't seem to find inquiry station offset objects or something like inverse to line.
Do have to create alignments for these simple calculations.

When I issue the Wblock Command I can not find the Dialog box to select objects and file location... This happens in the Layer Dialog when I try to change the color of a layer, the Color Dialog box can not be found. When I use the Block command the dialog box pops up, so I can see it.

so I've recorded a macro to find all drop shadows and seperate them from whatever they're attached to. Now my problems is how to deselect the objects leaving just the drop shadows selected
Sub Macro173()
ActiveDocument.CreateShapeRangeFromArray(ActiveLayer.Shapes(3), '
ActiveLayer.Shapes(1)).Cut ActiveLayer.Paste Dim Paste1 As ShapeRange
Set Paste1 = ActiveSelectionRange
ActiveDocument.Undo
ActiveDocument.Undo
ActivePage.Shapes.All.CreateSelection
ActiveSelection.Separate
End Sub
Surely the Find/Replace Objects dialog boxes don't just restrict itself to searching on the current page... that would be stupid but it seems to be that way.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhy does the find and replace functionality have to be so sloppy to use? I have a customer that sends me cmyk drawings and I need them to be rgb. They also have lines that need to be changed to hairline from .25pt. It's frustrating how difficult this is to accomplish due to the sloppy interface that CD has had ever since I've been using it - since v12.
How hard would it be to allow you to change the palette, line width and colors on lines and outlines in one step? Right now it's multiple steps and don't forget once to change the target color palette or you'll convert everything back to cmyk...
I have one point paths in my AI drawing. How do I find all of them and delete them quickly?
View 15 Replies View RelatedThe SDF shown below Zoomed In is displayed properly.
The SDF file Zoomed Out one level is missing a portion of the yellow line.
When I zoom out one level, a portion of the SDF does not display. This same portion will not print to DWF either.
If it were a SHP file I would delete the *.IDX file. I tried REGENALL and REFRESHING the SDF file.
I was using "Real time zoom" tool, when my arm slipped on somewhere on the keyboard and something weird happened. All my work which was drawed (plans, elevations, maps...) turned into a "dot" which is impossible to zoom in or do anything with it (I can move it though) and see the objects.

Basically when I use Outline Pathfinder in Adobe Illustrator, then bring back into corel, sometimes get a lot of redundant objects. I already set the settings in Adobe Illustrator to minimize that as much as possible.
Is there any way to set keyboard shortcut or toolbar button to customized find objects option (.fin file)? I am a average Coreldraw user, knows almost all basics, but lacks advanced use of Coreldraw. I like to use any techniques that saves time. I know it with adobe Photoshop (like action etc.) but not with Coreldraw.. I heard about macros.
For Now I need to
1) set keyboard shortcut or toolbar button to customized find objects option (.fin file)
2) set keyboard shortcut or toolbar button or macros for repetitive find & replace options...
3) create macros for simple moves & then after combine these type of simple macros in one macros...
4) set keyboard shortcut or toolbar button to that macros...
5) and any these type of time saving technique. (in selection making, replacing, finding, batch process etc..)
I want is make actions & then combine them to script & then set keyboard shortcuts for same...
In paper space I've zoomed in (whilst outside the viewport) double clicked inside the viewport and now I can't zoom back out again to see the viewport or border! Typing 'ps' doesn't work. (mac)

I have a drawing that contains an ecw image inserted through FDO. The image appears in the correct location when plotted at a smaller scale 1"=100', but when printing a larger area at say 1"=2000' the image is not in the correct location. It appears to be shifted when compared to linework that is present in the drawing. The shift is about 100'.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded to the 2011 version. I noticed that when I am zoomed in on a dashed line to the point where only one dash is visible on the screen, if I select the dash using the blue (window) selection box, it will select the dashed line, even though the entire line is not within the blue rectangle. This was not the case in earlier versions of AutoCAD, and I was hoping that there is a way to disable it.
In other words, if I'm zoomed in on a portion of the line, I only want to be able to select it by either clicking on the line itself or by dragging the green (crossed) selection box over it. I do not want the line to be selected when I drag the blue (window) selection box over the line.
Also note that this happens with hatches as well. For example if you zoom in on a concrete hatch so that only one triangle out of the hatch pattern is visible on the screen. By dragging the blue selection box over the triangle, it will select the hatch. Again, in this case, the hatch should not be selected because it is not entirely enclosed by the blue rectangle, only a portion of it is.
why my lines are thick when I zoom in on screen yet they become "normal when zoomed out" seams to me that lineweighs are being displayed on screen, a variable setting perhaps?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm building a platform and have sheet metal on top of a tube frame. When I'm zoomed up closely I only see the sheet metal surface. But when I zoom out further some of the tubes start becoming visible through the sheet metal. This happens in just about every assembly. Parts behind other parts start becoming visible when zooming out far enough.
Is there a way to stop this from happening?
A problem i have encountered with LT 2011 is the extend or trim command freezing/taking a long time to extend or trim.
If i zoom up close, extend/trim works as normal instantly, but if i zoom out further & try the same extend/Trim it can take 30 seconds or more.
I dont remember having this issue on previous LT versions, I've found this with many if not all drawings
while in a layout tab in paperspace, if I zoom in and try to plot a windowed area, the feature layer information does not print but all vector information does. If I zoom extents and replot using the same previous settings with the small windowed area, all layers plot like they are supposed to. Now another scenario is as follows:
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Acad 2008. When zoomed very close, I can not select/highlight an object such as a line by clicking on its apparent location, instead, I have to try clicking somewhere around it so to select it. The showing line seems an shadow of the real line which is "hiding" somewhere. This usually happens after I played with a drawing (open/close/changing viewing directions etc) for a long time and the drawing seems "degenerated" somewhat. The only way I can correct this is to select all objects in the drawing and copy/paste to a brand new drawing started with a blank template. I guess a system variable governs this effect, but I do not know which one.
