while in a layout tab in paperspace, if I zoom in and try to plot a windowed area, the feature layer information does not print but all vector information does. If I zoom extents and replot using the same previous settings with the small windowed area, all layers plot like they are supposed to. Now another scenario is as follows:

Using AutoCAD 2013 and TOL command to generate feature control frames. We set our lineweights based on layer assignments.
Problem is that when printing, AutoCAD seems to randomly assign a lineweight to the feature control frames. It can vary from what it's supposed to be (such as lineweight set for the dimension layer) or thicker than even what the object lines are set at. Seems to pick a random linewieght at time of printing for these elements (just the boxes, not the symbols/text itself).
Is there a setting we should be defining somewhere to force it to follow the lineweight of the layer that it has been assigned to? Known bug?
Using 2014AutoCAD. Sometimes when zooming in using the mouse wheel by 1 click it the view will go from being zoomed out to zooming past the object in my drawing. this is happening in different drawings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two layers. One is set to red color, the other to blue color (using ctb). I have both layers defaulted to 1 mm line weight thickness. Blue is continuous and Red is dashed.
When printing the blue layer prints at the correct weight of 1mm, while the dashed red layer prints at a much smaller thickness. All line properties are set to default or bylayer (this is not being caused by the lines having individual special properties).
Lisp that would permit Toggling from Paper Space into the same zoomed area within Model Space and vice versa.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a road corridor with feature lines connecting the road edges (cyan), ditchline (dark green), daylight_cut (yellow), daylight_fill (green) and daylight (white). At certain random locations along this corridor I am getting feature lines which span from one station to another, ignoring all of the corridor sections in between. The image below shows a daylight_fill line spanning over 60m, even though there is a daylight line through this region.
In this area a ditch line and a daylight_cut start at 4+110, skip over the next cut section at 4+120 and jump over a hundred meters to the next piece of ditch at 4+280..This corridor builds clean - no error messages reported.
Isn't the new Synonym feature the same as PGP file?

I inserted my company logo on our custom border i am making and need to fill the logo in with colors to match our autocad verison borders. View 9 Replies View RelatedThe way I used to adjust feature lines was to highlight the node I wanted to adjust and then raise or lower that elevation incrementally until I got to a grade that worked.
Now I've noticed that when I highlight a node and hit the button to raise or lower, it forgets which node I had highlighted after the first press. This is a problem because now I either have to click on the node every time, because if I don't it will raise or lower the elevation of the entire feature line.
I see that the Point Cloud Feature Extraction is now part of the Productivity Tools for Civil 3d 2012. Are these tools available in 2013? I am not seeing them anywhere. It seems goofy that there would be more tools available for the old release - what's the incentive to make the switch? Would you expect they will be available for 2013 sometime soon? I'm not complaining, I really like 2012
View 4 Replies View RelatedAdobe decided to remove the 'Print Size' button/option from the 'Zoom' tool in Photoshop 13.0.2..I use this heavily as I run a print lab and I often need to show people on screen what the size of their print will be (I have set the correct ppi for each display in preferences).
I am absolutely amazed they could remove a feature like this without any warning in a minor update. The irony is that for the first time ever retina displays have enough resolution to assess sharpness without going to 100% and the 'View Print Size' is more useful than ever before.
I will probably have to roll back to the last Photoshop version on all systems but before I do, any way to get the 'Print Size' option back?
As stated, my wipeouts are working just as desired when I plot single layouts, but when I publish multiple layouts they do not work at all.

On one of my layers I have started getting "Feature was not saved in the target feature source" when I try to check in my data. In total there are 308 errors in the data table, all of which were features I deleted. They all have a featID of null and I cannot remove them from the data table. I need to fix these errors without going back and starting over.

I am having an issue with plotting a drawing that includes an xref. I have also included an attachment as reference.
I am working in AutoCAD 2010; I have a drawing that includes another drawing as an xref. The xref is on layer “0” in model space and my titleblock, annotation and viewports are in paper space (layout tab). I am using color dependent plot styles (.STB). The xref is a 3D model created with basic AutoCAD solids representing steel shapes, there are also some line segments representing the steel centerlines. The viewport is a plan view of the 3D steel model, the view is not clipped. Since the xref contains 3D objects when I print the drawing I don't want the “hidden” lines to show up, I accomplish this by setting the viewport shade plot setting to “HIDDEN”.
Here is the problem:
When I print the drawing the xref’s layers do not print correctly but rather take on the properties of layer “0” which has a plot style of “NORMAL” so everything prints in color and with a default lineweight. I want the xref to print using the xref’s layer properties that are defined in the .STB file. One variable that changes the outcome of the printed drawing is the viewport shade plot setting.
If the viewport shade plot is set to HIDDEN the xref prints using layer “0” properties (undesired) and the3D object lines are hidden (desired). See attached Viewport #1
If the viewport shade plot is set to AS DISPLAYED the xref prints using the xref’s layer properties (desired) but the 3D object lines are not hidden (undesired). See attached Viewport #2
The ONLY difference between the two viewports is the shade plot setting, there are no layer overrides and only the xref objects are affected, the objects in paper space print as expected. This only happens with an xref or block. If I bind the xref into the drawing and explode it so the objects are “live” in the drawing everything works fine. Unfortunately I need it to work correctly with an xref.
If I use a color dependent plot style (.CTB) where the .CTB file controls the color and lineweight I am able to achieve the desired results, unfortuneatly my company is determined to use .STB files
Why files received from different architects affect how my plot style prints? I'm using my set plotstyle but plots are almost too light to read. Layers are set to default line weights in both files. This printing problem happens in both model and paper space. Using AutoCAD 2012 standard.

I wanted to print the layers of a particular drawing each in separate sheet but wondering if there might be an automated way to do so. For example, if I a particular drawing comprise 15 layers then how to print each one of these layers in a separate sheet.
Sure, there might be more than one way to achieve this (like controlling the “plot” feature on the “layer properties manager” but what I’m looking for is an automated way to print all the 15 layers separately in one go.

The SDF shown below Zoomed In is displayed properly.
The SDF file Zoomed Out one level is missing a portion of the yellow line.
When I zoom out one level, a portion of the SDF does not display. This same portion will not print to DWF either.
If it were a SHP file I would delete the *.IDX file. I tried REGENALL and REFRESHING the SDF file.
I was using "Real time zoom" tool, when my arm slipped on somewhere on the keyboard and something weird happened. All my work which was drawed (plans, elevations, maps...) turned into a "dot" which is impossible to zoom in or do anything with it (I can move it though) and see the objects.

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to take a feature created by a pattern and reuse it to create another pattern? I have a circular part on which I have created a linear pattern (using the rectangular pattern feature) of holes, 6 in total listed as 3 ccurrences. if we number the holes 1-6, I would like to make a circular pattern based off holes 2 and 5. I have been unable to figure out how to select the individual "occurrence" related to the hole once in the pattern feature. If I create the circular pattern first and then the linear and try to suppress the others it supresses both holes in the occurrence.
