I am trying to export the following .dwg file to .stl format but the object that has been externally referenced does not make into the .stl file.

I have this file that won't open in AutoCAD Architecture 2012, well let me rephrase that, it won't finish opening. It has 4 or 5 xref's attached. I was able to open this same file using 2010. Through process of elimination I was able to determine that a file that was exported from Revit MEP 2012 was the problem. When that file was detached the drawing would open just fine. To make things more interesting, I am able to open the Revit Export file just fine using 2012. What diabolical combination of event has happened to cause this SNAFU.

I have an architectural plan drawing that uses a titlesheet drawing as an external reference. In my civil plan i want to use a different title sheet. Instead of having a different titlesheet drawing for the civil drawing i was wondering if i could turn my titlesheet drawing into a dynamic block. In my architectural drawing i would see visibility state #1 & in my civil drawing i would see visibility state #2.

View 5 Replies View Relatedis it possible to get the alignment name which the corridor surface is built from when the surface is being data referenced. in other word no corridor as the middleman.
the way i see it is when corridor suface is referenced, it becomes a regular surface and loses some properties such as parent alignment.
i am still using COM. maybe .net can do it? either way works.

Is there a way to add a child to an object that is referenced in another scene, and get this child on the scene where this object is referenced?
I've made instances of this particular object, so I would like to see this child with every instanciated objects in my scene.
When I talk about a "way", it could be a script, a plugin or whatever.
I have a lot of AutoCAD files which have embedded OLE objects (excel) inside. I want to be able to export only the text from the Excel OLE object using VBA (or Lisp, I don't mind which) without having to fire up the OLE application (i.e. Excel).
The embedded OLE objects have no link to any external files - so I imagine it must all be held somehow inside the AutoCAD file, but how it can be accessed?!!?

It works in that the text file is created and it does write the iproperties. HOWEVER it only writes the iproperties from the active assembly

I've exported in all supported vector file formats, and it seem that only SVGsupports object name (and data)... however, I can't use SVG at the moment.
Is there a way to export all objects using a macro?I need in plain ascii: layer and object names, and maybe object data.
I'm looking for a simple format, no transform matrices (as in SVG).

I have a database (SQL Server) and a drawing (.DWG) with object data fields. For simplicity, lets say the database field names match the object data field names. The key field in the object data is already filled in. I would like to link to the database so the rest of the object data fields are filled from the database. Is this possible? If so, how? The closest I have gotten so far is creating a link template and using mapod2ase, but that creates a separate set of Link Template fields instead of filling in the Object Data fields.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI use the Lightroom 4.1 export feature to export my HDR panorama images as 16 bit tiff in a temporary folder and after that to open the images automatically in PtGui Pro 9.1.x. The problem is if I export more than 25 images PtGui Pro starts one time for the first 25 images, then a second time for image #26 till 51, and so on. This happens during all my test with multiple image formats like 8 bit tiff with/without compression or with jpegs. It makes no difference whether the temporary folder is located on an SSD or a regular hard drive.
Additional I tested LR4 Export to Hugin 2011.4.0 (32Bit) and Gimp 2.8 (64Bit) and the result is the same like with PtGui Pro: After the 25th image a new instance of the program started.
Because of this behavior in different programs, I must assume that the fault must be with Lightroom. Is there any hardcoded limits by handover of pictures to external programs?
(Windows 7, Lightroom 4.1 and PtGui Pro 9.1 are 64 Bit versions)
I downloaded LR on through ACC. Basic panel is missing. How do I export all of my photos to external hard drive. Automatic backup also does not come up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have previously written an assembly (netload) application for our document management system for our office. This assembly loaded a sheet set file (dst) and read / manipulated / saved and exported data. It was very slow.
I was wondering before I progress a reimplementation if it is possible to have external application access to the dst file using the various dll files and lib files (autodesk shared / application root and object arx 2010 - 2012), and if so, which ones.
I have tried to use the same references I used for my 2010 / 2012 netload assembly but I am receiving errors like "FileNotFoundException was unhandled" I belive I have traced this to the issue that I need more or specific references in addition to:

the actual error message when I open a dst file is:

I use Inventor 2010 with the iLogic Extension. My question is probably more VB.NEt-related than Inventor-related.
For my parts I usually have a main *.ipt that can receive input parameters and does some calculating with them. Then there are several 'slave' *.ipt that use the calculated parameters of the main.ipt. I would like to keep that structure. Using iLogic the slave.ipt's do some calculation, too, based on an external *.Vb-File. I load that file into the rules of the slave.ipts by using (for example) AddVbFile "External.Vb".
My question is if it is in any way possible to have it so that the name External.Vb can be dynamic? I tried using a new iLogic String parameter and storing the name of the external VB-File there so that I would have a Parameter Name = "External.Vb" and then use AddVbFile Name. But that sadly didn't work at all. My External.Vb is supposed to be unique for every copy of my assembly and having to write the correct name into the rule by hand is tedious.
I had a DXF file with an external reference file inside, when showing in AutoCAD 2012, the external file appeared very 'dull' and blurry. But when I look at the same file in the new AutoCAD 2013, it shows very clear.. this puzzles me, and our clients are complaining about this quite often.
Is there a setting I can change in 2012 version to make it (external file) clearer? The right hand side shows the external file (table and words) much better than the left.

In my VBA program I had a function to read/write an external data file to retain and recall user settings on a form.
The nature of the function was quite simple:

This code is almost identical in my VB.NET references, but when I try to run it I find the "Controls.Count" value for the form is only 1 (that object is a Tab control) thus I'm unable to access the individual controls with this code.
There is also a "ControlCollection" object, but this appears as "Nothing". Where should I go from here?
I'm trying to find a way to call a form in a skeleton part file from within a parent assembly file.
I can open the form from the skeleton part, then leave it open and update values even while the skeleton part is inactive or even closed. But I can't find out how to call it from the assembly file. Is this possible? I currently have to open the skeleton just to call up the form.
I can reference values or even add them in another form, but I am not allowed to change them in an assembly form, because they are (linked) reference parameters.
I have considered several workarounds, but this is how I really want it to work. I'm just not that familiar with the code to know if there's a way around. The code snippets only allow opening a form from the current document as far as I can see. I don't really want a global from because I'm only changing parameters in one file, not all.

It's work fine but i have same question. There is some string to refresh an iLogic Module? When i push the ruel button the rule add the custom value in iProperties, but there are disabled, i have close the module an reopen it for correct display the value of the iProperties.
this module work with single parts. Can I do an rule who do the same thing of my string but in one assembly, do this for every parts of assembly automaticly??
I've got a problem following playing around (Typical, isn't it?). Architecture 2011 allows editing property sets from external objects through the host drawing (i.e. change a room number of a property set attached to a space xref'ed in from another construct). This obviously has to put an editing lock onto the xref to prevent data loss in case somebody else works on the xref in the meantime. This editing lock is removed when I close my host drawing. However, the lock is immediately restored when I re-open the host drawing.
How can I release the xref file lock again after editing the property sets in my host drawing?

I tried to use the command "Export or Explode", all object will be disappeared e.g. borehole onto the profile, geologies contour line onto the profile… after clicked the commands.
