View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 2nd hard drive that is connected to the mobo as I use it as an "external" drive. Most of the time, I don't need to access or use the 2nd hard drive as its a backup drive so it will go into standby or shutoff automatically when not in use.
But everytime i turn on corel PSP program, it turns on my 2nd hard drive. I can hear the drive booting up and spinning. It's really annoying cuz I don't want to keep having it turned on everytime I open my psp program. I'm not using psp to access any files from my 2nd hard drive either. It must be some sort of configuration setting that makes psp activate my 2nd hard drive everytime i open it.
I am just trying to identify and select a group of photos which I can then copy to an external USB drive to have prints made. I know how to identify and select the photos. I have been unable to figure out an easy way to copy all of the selected photos to an external drive.
I can use 'Save As' to copy individual photos, but have been unable to figure out how to simply create a 'tag' and then copy all of the tagged photos to the drive. I can also copy all of the photos to a Media Tray, but cannot figure out how to work with a group of photos rather than just an individual photo.
Using Elements 11 - My photos are taking over my hard-drive and I want to safely transfer all my photos and videos to an external hard-drive. How do I do it without loosing info and/or later having to re-connect thousands of pictures?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI work with an external drive in Lightroom 5. I used to import hundreds of photos into folders and while reviewing them i could delete and individual photo and get a pop up message confirming "delete from disk". If I clicked that the file would be deleted and I could continue reviewing photos. Suddenly now when i delete a photo in the review process I get the first message, "delete from disk" and if I click that I get a second message now that says "The files are on a volume that does not support trash, permanently delete files from disk?" If I click that, my screen goes blank and I have to search where I was in the flow in reviewing the photos. It is impossible to quickly go thorugh and delete photos!!
I do not use preview to delete photos before they are imported, I feel I need to see the full file and then decide if I want to delete it.
how to store (move) my many photos from my computer. Right now they are in : "My Pictures" and I see them in Photoshop Elements 10 with tags and labels. What can I move safely to an external hard drive and not lose the work and photos in my Adobe Photoshop 10? My computer is FULL! I cannot afford $9.95 a month. My laptop cannot get bigger as I understand it!
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust bought Photoshop Elements because we need to sort out the 1000's of photos that are currently stored on an external hard drive.
There isn't enough room on the C drive to import these.
Can I sort them and keep them on the external drive?
I have been storing my LR catalog and all photos on an external drive, which is now full. I got a new external hard drive and would like to move everything over. I started to copy and paste the root folder - which has all the photo folders and the LR catalog folder. If I copy and paste everything outside of LR and open the catalog in the new location, will LR recognize the photos in the new location?
I also read that the catalog could be moved to the new external hard drive (with LR closed) and the photos moved within LR by creating the root folder on the new and dragging and dropping each folder in Library mode.
I have many photos on my laptop and have a catalog set up through Lightroom 3.5. I decided the best way to store the photos is to keep them on an external hard drive so that I may work on them easily from any computer on my network. (laptop is frequently shut off) Is there a way to maintain /import/export/ edit the current catalog so that it works with the photos on the external drive? I would really hate to have to do the catalog with all the keywords all over again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI would like to take my existing photo's on an internal drive and move them to an external drive. I would like to leave my catalogue where it is on my internal drive. I would then like to use smart previews to allow me to edit my photo's with or without the external drive connected and have the photo's automatically sync'd when the external drive is re-connected.

The message I get is that I can't save the file "because write access is not granted".

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've got about 10,000 photos that I've moved in lightroom by creating a folder called 'pictures' on the external drive using the left folders panel. I then selected all the images in the root drive on my computer and dragged them onto the 'pictures' folder on the external drive, and I expected the folder structure to come with it. Only after I realised that they had all moved into one folder. Is there a way of moving the images back into a structure without manually doing it? Here's a screenshot.....

Also where is that Corel uninstall tool as I can't get this mess uninstalled.
I have PSP x3 on my computer, it uses over 1 gig of space on my hard drive. I just installed PSPx4 on my computer and it only uses a little less than 400 megabites. Is this correct, or is something not right here. Also did they replace Express Lab with Adjust?
