AutoCAD 2010 :: Preventing PDF Viewer To Open Drawing File When Plotting To PDF File?
Mar 9, 2012As an engineering company we have started to convert hundreds of our drawings from AutoCAD to PDF using a batch utility.
However every file that is converted into a PDF file is opened by a PDF Viewer. We want to prevent this.
I opened my *.pc3 file and removed the check from the appropriate box. See below
I press OK, then save the file and close. However when I reopen the file, I see the box for Openining in PDF Viewer has been rechecked. No matter what I do, I cannot permanently remove the check from this box.

Aug 4, 2013I have imported an OAM file into the first page of an app I am making in InDesign. The OAM looks correct on load but once the animation begins it gets really big and all I see is a tiny portion of the animation.
I have other text and graphics on that page I was wondering if that could be the cause.
Xara :: File Format Viewer For Mac
Aug 1, 2011I am a software developer. I've spent a lot of time in the last few years building crazy GUIs for a simulation product. I had previously discovered Xara Xtreme for doing software design illustrations and other documentation, so I decided to try using it for making icons and graphics for GUIs. We had some pretty old graphics in our system from 15 years ago, so the bar was pretty low. I was able to teach myself some basic techniques and I think I did a fair job at tremendously improving our graphics. We have artists, but they are generally doing 3D models for the simulator, not GUI graphics.
Anyway, I was very impressed with what even a motivated but untrained programmer could do with Xara. Constantly having to export bitmaps was a bit of a pain, though. What I really wanted was to be able to draw the graphics I had designed in Xara directly in my software, and I wanted to do it on the mac.
There was many a stumbling block, but I managed to be able to draw all of the geometry correctly and I have also implemented solid and linear fills. No shadows, contours, bitmaps, molds, text, effects, etc. I got frustrated with Quartz because it could not render every fill case. I also got frustrated with the Xara spec that was obviously out of date and had many omissions in it.
My initial goal was to write a card game that used vector graphic cards in Xara format. My renderer can actually draw everything I need for decent looking but basic card designs, but I wanted to round out the feature set a bit more and support more effects like edge feathering, more fills, shadows, text, etc. I did one drawing of a court card from a pack of Bicycle Cards, and then I did some research on playing card artwork and bought a pretty old deck of cards with some of the original designs that modern cards are based on. I did one drawing from that deck as well. As I understand it, as long as I don't copy the back, the Ace of Spades, or the Joker designs I'm ok from a copyright perspective. These cards are so old they are probably beyond copyright anyway. Furthermore, the printing techniques back then were so imprecise that my end result is more of an interpretation of the original than a copy.

Jan 4, 2013So for the first time in a very long time, I've found a reason to tap into the clip art collection that comes with Draw. Unlike the old days when a big, bound, full color book used to come with the clip art to identify quickly which specific assets I'd like to use I can't seem to figure out a way to quickly browse the collection without dropping the file into a document, then either keeping it on the page or deleting and moving to the next. I also don't seem to have the ability to turn on file thumbnails in windows explorer on Win7 64-bit (couldn't find a support article that fixed this either)

Aug 9, 2013trying to find a .net DWG viewer component that actually works. I tried DWG Viewer from SkySoft and cannot get it to register in VS 2010, I downloaded and installed SolidWorks eDrawings viewer and tried to use that. I could not get that to register and place the control on the toolbox. I also tried TrueView and I'm beginning to thing it can't be done. It seems like this should be fairly easy but it's not.
All I want is to be able to display the .dwg drawing on a Windows form. I have a .net WinForms app that I would like to show the drawing to the user. I already have the bitmap preview and would like something larger.
I am using Visual Studio 2010 on a Win 7 64bit machine.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Publish PDF Viewer Not Loading?
Oct 2, 2012"Open in viewer when done" is checked. I've unchecked it and rechecked it but the Adobe Reader does not launch after plotting in background completes. It does launch when plotting directly to the DWG to PDF.pc3 plotter. What am I missing?

AutoCAD .NET :: Previewing DWG Viewer Other Than DWG True View
Mar 20, 2013I'm working with AutoCAD 2012 x64 and I need a control to view DWG files selected in my ListView. I tried using DWG True View 2013 and it worked well, but this is more than my requirement. My requirement is to simply show a preview of the drawing. But DWGTrue View is an advance control and is not standalone i.e. Users have to download and install its full installer.
This might require some customization to code in order to fix TOP View and do a Zoom Extent: Currently not succeeded.
I also seek using DWGThumnailviewer.ocx referenced in this post but unfortunately, I couldn't find DWGThumnailViewer.ocx with AutoCAD 2012. I guess it was discontinued.
Other option could be to generate a raster graphic file (*.jpg, *.gif, *.png, *.bmp) and display that into a picture box. I tried some code from this thread and this one but at some small dwg files, it is unable to read bytes.

Oct 5, 2012I have some objects (corridor / intersection corridor / surface / grading ...) in civil 3d 2013...When we rotate the 3d objects , object rotate pivot point about (0,0,0, or any place x,y,(z=0)..So rotated 3d object (if the Z= High value) can't be seen / can be seen as a point.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Change Settings In Object Viewer?
Nov 29, 2012Any way to change the setting in Object Viewer that will let you orbit around the cursor instead of the center of the screen? In object viwer, orbit is only constrained around the middle of the screen. To me, it would make sense to have it rotate around the cursor like in model space.

When reviewing the system requirements for Inventor Viewer 2014, I noticed that it lists only Windows 7 and Windows 8. Was XP omitted by mistake, or will Inv Viewer truly not work on machines running XP?

Jul 19, 2013When I use Object Viewer to look at just feature lines and surfaces, the feature lines do not appear at the same elevation as the surface as I shift the view around. Why is that- especially since I am looking at the surface I created from those same feature lines?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Surface Triangles Not Appearing In Object Viewer
Mar 7, 2013Today I opened a file that has previously worked perfectly well, only to find that when I open my surface in Object Viewer and begin to rotate it manually, the triangles making up the surface do not appear. I have the contour lines and border (what is enabled in the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab) although the triangles (which should be displayed as well) do not appear. Other surfaces show like they should.
Is there another option other than the Edit Surface Style/Display/Model tab and the VISUALSTYLES command?

With event commandEndend I can update all information if I use "grip-strectch" for some PI alignment.
However, we can modify alignment data from Panorama palette (geometry editor) and I would like to know if there are any event to catch it after modify data.

May 2, 2012For some reason, when I view my corridor in Realistic mode in object viewer, all the rendering has changed colours and quality of the textures etc.
It used to display just fine and I am wondering what has caused this? Is it a Driver issue?

Mar 6, 2013I've been using pipe network in Civil 3D for some time now and all I can say is I can't wait for them to rewrite it!
I've had acouple of problems with some of the default parts for the UKIE template which I have managed to fix manually but there is stil one problem I can't seem to solve. For some reason my type E manholes show up in plan and section but don't show at all in object viewer. I've even tried to create a new drawing and place a new network but again the same thing happens.
I've tried going into part builder, validating it and saving it, reload the catalog etc. just incase.

Apr 30, 2013I'm pretty new to using multi view blocks and rendering etc etc... basically all I want to do is show my surface (lake and landscaping) as grass, show a clear blue hatch to represent the water line and add some multi view blocks.. people and trees...
Using the multiview blocks toolpalette I have dragged and dropped some blocks into model space and ensured they are at the correct elevation to sit on the surface...
I have noticed that only one of the multi view blocks within the landscape tab is showing as I would expect - the rest all look like an extruded cross... I don't know how to fix this or whether this is correct.
