I've got a very long narrow site where more of it would be better shown and printed on a vertical page. However all the default and custom viewports are designed specifically for horizontal pages. How can a page be rotated to be plotted vertically?
View 4 RepliesI get several dwg's a day with up to 40 layouts in each one. All the settings are correct ACCEPT the plotter. Is there a way to set all page setups for all layouts at the same time? Something like select all layouts and do a page setup for all. Possibly with LISP or VBA?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe have, since moving to 2012 had an issue with our standard Named Page Setups in our DWT file staying assigned to the layout tabs. When you click up to plot a dwg... the Page Setup Name indicating that the Named Page Setup assigned to the plot configuration dialog box says <None>. Even if you click in the drop down and select a setup... the name selected shows as selected after the box colapses... but then a split second later, the box defaults back to <None>.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have been using until saturday Windows Vista and Autocad 2008, with out any problem, at least that windows vista was slowly.
So I decide to upgrade my notebook and I add windows 7 - 64 bit and change my autocad to a 2010 version for this windows 7 as well.
The acrobat is the 8 version.
The problem is the following:
I was able to work normally with this soft, but when I need to plot in PDF a drawing bigger than A0 page, it does not plot. If I add an A0 it works fine. Then I went to properties, change the page to a PostScript, and change paper size to 2100 mm in height and width, but anyway It still dont work.
Is there anything I must set before ploting a bigger size page, with the new Autocad 2010 or with windows 7??
my plot file names don't include the drawing name, only the layout name. it used to include the drawing name. i must have changed something but i don't what.

When I try to plot my drawing, my drawing only takes up 2/3 of the page on print preview. The top half of the page is blank. How can I make my drawing take up the whole available page?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am creating construction plans sets that require 3 road profiles for the left edge, center and right edge. I would like to dynamically link the center line profile with the edge profiles.
I have created alignment offsets to obtain the existing surface at the offset location. I would like the edge profiles to have a vertical offset from the center profile. Also if I modify the center profile I want it to dynamically adjust the edge profiles.
We do most of our drawing in 2D – quaint I know, but that’s the way the office works. On occasion we’ll do something as a solid model to guide a client understand a complex roof or a clearance problem. We started a model for a project we are working on and ended up using it as building elevations.
The problem is with plotting. If I use our standard office CTB (which is set to print as black), I get color printouts no matter what I try. I have tried using an STB and changing all our layer colors to “7” in an attempt to make it print black, but I'm getting extremely undesirable - seemingly random - line weight results.
The client wants the next project done in 3D as well and I’d like to be able to have the elevations look right.
Is there a way to apply plot styles and line weights to a dwg file like 'dwf ePlot' does but keeping the results in .dwg format?

When I use the pdf plot drivers from AutoCAD or the export to pdf option the resulting pdf is not available to the other computer trying to access it through a shared folder.
When I plot to pdf with batch plot or export the drawing to pdf and save the file in the shared folder, the other computer can not open the pdf (file not found) or attach the file to an email (you do not have permission)
Why is this? All other files share and open fine. Only pdf files from batch plot, plot to dwg to pc3, or export to pdf. This is a pain and I still have to use another plot driver (cutepdf) to get a fully useable pdf for our office.
As we all know when u publish a pdf the layout name & drawing file name is automatically inserted into the file name for the pdf ur about to create. Is there a way of controlling this? ie i only want the file name n not the layout name as well,

First of all, I would like the page setup to be A3 but that is not an option on my Page Setup Manager as it will only connect to my printer size.
I am also trying to add a Title Block but again do not know what I am doing, or where to download template ones for free?
I am currently drawing my plans and realised the template: "Tutorial-mArch.dwt" is an A1 Paper Size.
I can only print A4 pages so when I compressed it to a A4, the layout of title box simply goes out of scale.
How do I scale those? If you do not mind me asking more, how do I make my title box (name scale on my own?
I had inserted a block on my model page. I then wanted to insert it on my layout page where I wanted to have a legend. The block never showed up on the layout page and now it is not on my model page. When I attempt to insert it anywhere else now, the block does not show up in the preview window of the insert popup, nor on the drawing.

It goes like this:
1. Open any drawing.
2. Select any layout.
3. File > Plot > Select PDF as printer/plotter
4. Click OK
5. Plot job progress bar appears
6. Fatal Error Message
7. Total crash, AutoCAD closes

It is with every drawing, different drawings, every time. It started suddenly.
I am using LT 2013. I used to have 2008. I got similar errors using 2008. I uninstalled it (after trying repair reinstall, which failed to correct the problem) and reinstalled windows, and upgraded to 2013. The problem was gone for a time and has just now restarted.
I have a layout with numerous plot numbers, they have there own layer, they have a consistent style and height but display differently. According to properties the only thing that varies is their content and x,y location. It should be a 2d dwg but i have had 'issues'.They have consistent layer properties, linetypes, weights, the font isn't bold, colour etc. I have tried flatten, flatz, specifying them at a significant height and then bringing them down again, match properties which interestingly will make narrow text bold but not the other way, setting Z to 0.000000000001 etc. I tried viewpoint etc and nothing has made any difference.

All of a sudden, some of my Illustrator files have a dashed line running vertically down the center of the page. I can manually delete the dashes, but what is this and surely, there's a better way to get rid of it?
View 6 Replies View RelatedWe have just upgraded from 2009 to 2012. Also have merged with a New company that did use xrefernces for there title blocks and we did, and now i am trying to solve how to use there borders to create new page layouts.
Our page setups that we had in 2009 were created by a former employee that is longer with the company.
How we typically started a border/ sheet. We have a separate drawing file that has in model space a 24x36 border with our info that we want repeated on all our sheets.
Now that we are in 2012; The layout tap is a weird size and the 'layout black area' does not match when I import that 24x36 boarder file. The black area does not line up with "0,0,0" and that is what I and trying to figure out how to i make the black area of the layout start at 0,0,0 and be 24x36.
the picture i attached shows 0,0,0 and the 2 borders over layed.
the green box is 24x36.
the blue box is the new border which is ment to be sent within the 24x36 and the brownish red box is the old border and layout and what we used to use.
I have an A4 peice of paper and need to change the scale of my drawing so it fits onto the page. I remember there was a short cut, but have since forgotten it.
It is currently at 1:1 and want to change that to a more appropriate scale.
Standard in autocad stands in the plot layout plot scale inch en mm.
