View 5 RepliesI just started to use Gimp a few days ago. I am trying to duplicate an image side by side, then rotate the one image....just for learning purposes. However the new box (that should have my duplicate image) Is just a blank outline of the rectangle box. I watched a video over and over trying to get this, and I just do not see any steps I am missing, yet on the video it turns out perfect. I am normally pretty good with computers, but evidently not with Gimp.
Here is the Path:
file> open>select and open photo>rectangle tool>outline photo>copy>paste>open new layer>select new pasted layer.
Instead of the photo duplicating itself I get a "blank outlined box".
I am sure that you must be able to do it...surely..but how can you see images side by side, so that the original is on the left and the edited on the right?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI use both CS5 & LR3 (and sometimes Canon's DPP as an image browser). I want to stop using LR and just have one app (CS5) to manage
I do not need the database & image management features of LR. However, I do make a lot of use of virtual images and side-by-side views (candidate selection & before/after views of virtual images with the original).
How do I efficiently do the same thing with Bridge/ACR/Photoshop?
I want to generate a single image which compares two different images side by side. Can Gimp do this?
There was a tab called "new" which enabled me to generate the white background needed to do the merging. One of those little details the author forgot to mention. They just said " Open the first image as a new layer and move it to the left" without mentioning that you had to find the "new" key and put in the white background first!
easy way to import 2 sets of image sequences into AE and have them side by side, so both sets will be inside 1 frame.Example of what I'm doing is having a phone conversation, instead of switching back and forth between the actors (image sequences) I want to see them both at the same time next to each other.

The final outcome is meant to be an icon.

I am duplicating a painting using my Canon 5Dmk2 and some studio lights. I mounted the 22x28 inch painted canvas to a flat wall. I then mounted my camera on a tripod, perpendicular to the print and the same exact centerline. I used two soft boxes on opposite sides of the painting for even, non-reflective lighting. Then, I metered with a flash meter and shot the painting at 1/160s, f11, ISO 100. I got a perfect exposure. I even used Live View on my camera zoomed in tight to get a super accurate focus.
When I bring the image into LR4 (or LR3), the lower left hand corner was quite soft, but the rest of the image was tack sharp. I figured I screwed something up so I reshot the image. I remeasured everything to make sure all was flast, square, true, etc. Then, I shot the image with two very sharp lenses—Canon 100mm f2.8 macro, and Canon 70-200mm f4L lenses, both set at 100mm, f11, 1/160s, ISO 100.
When looking at the image on my camera LCD, even zoomed in to max close-up, the entire image is sharp. When I import it into LR, that corner goes soft again! At first it displays sharp, but as soon as the software zooms in, it goes soft and stays soft. I tried enabling and disabling Lens Correction, but that lower left hand corner remains soft no matter what I do. I really don't think it is the lens, camera alignment or the exposure, since it displays sharply on the camera's LCD when zoomed in tight. Both these lenses are very sharp, and besides, I left some headroom on all four edges to avoid possible softness or vignetting.
Wonder if can Can Image stretch from left or right or top or bottom side instead of diagonal ?
Reason is picture or tiff not correct length to the object of build.
I did scale to right length on "X" but the "Y" is off so how ?
I know that in Photoshop have stretch all side whatever I want but not in autocad 2011
I'm running PS CS3 on Mac iBook with 10.5.8
I've been using this setup for years & have always been able to drag out the right bottom corner to increase the grey space round an image so i can transform better or what ever. But now when I try to drag out that corner the image window flinches slightly & a line appears around the image which disapears when I let go.Also when I try to expand the layers palette down by dragging it's lower right cornes so I can see more layers nothing happens, there is no stripey corner marks on that corner & when i try click & try to drag nothing happens.
The first instruction is .. "Make a 10 pixel selection as shown in figure 2 - it needs to be a perfect selection, exactly on the top left corner of the tab". I did that ..
The next instruction is,
"Now select:
Image/Crop
(Need a 10 pixel radius corner.)"
His image then looks like this ..So how do I do it?
The course is at [URL] and I want to make the navigation tabs.
I need to have an image appear as full screen initially and then reduce in size and sit top left of screen so that it remains visible, whilst other images come and go across the remainder of the screen.
I am using VS Pro X5 Ultimate, 64 bit Windows 7
If i zoom in image so it's bigger than "Fit on Screen" then if open/create or go to other opened image and return to 'zoomed' one, PS reposition area i see to right upper corner.

I have been trying to do this every night for a week now and held out posting until I gave up. Also when I try to paste an image I get a message saying I don't have enough memory (I have 20 GB of memory free). I tried to find Pleska plugin for adding from file but could not find it.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to produce a PNG image that will be used as a menu bar that has a shadow effect on the top side only. The image will ultimately be just 1 pixel wide and then be repeated as required to create the right width (length) on the web page. How can I slice the image without getting a shadow effect on any of the other 3 sides?
Obviously the edges of the image must be sharp so there is no banding effect when the image is extended.

it's possible to crop one side of a 3D image & "FLATTEN" it with Corel Draw ?
Eg: The attached image shows a 3D Pyramid. Is it possible to crop out the side (with drawings) & "FLATTEN" it ?

I opened a picture of my car & I want to try to change the color. A YouTube Gimp video shows using layers but I don't have a picture of my car in the layers window.
Ive been messing around with the variable width tool, Im not sure I i changed something, I did try to restore defaults but when I make a change it changes the opposite side of the image. For example In screen shot I changed the width on the left and the effect showed up on the right.
I would like the width to change where I change it.
what setting, the end mp4 video will always have black vertical margins. I never have this problem when generating videos with Quicktime using the same source.
The source dimension is 4256x2832, and specifying this as output size will also create the bars.
I am trying to create some images in PS2 that have to be 3.5 to 4.0 mb. When viewing the Image Size screen, I might see an image size of 9.6 mb. However, when I save the image and run my mouse over the image in Bridge, it shows a size between 2 to 3 mb. I can't figure out why this discrepancy, or what math I need to do in order to figure out how to create the required image size other than by trial and error.
