I have load schedule drawing with OLE object (as excel image with out any link) . I want to make some changes in this load schedules. so what should I do to make the changes as I want.

I am running AutoCAD 2009 and the drawings are "tables" per say.....with a generic block template from an engineering company, along with text and the company logo.
Is there a way to bring this into excel for easy formatting as i am not an experienced or trained AutoCAD person.....

I want to make it a tool for myself to analysis the building system, with excel (and VBA)
The first tool I wanted to create is an underground drainage capacity analysis tool. But I meet the first difficulty, how can I automatically transfer the information inside CAD drawing to the excel?
Say, There is a drainage system with 2 manhole and 1 pipe,
the Manhole have 3 attribute : Name, Model, Level, (and the X-Y coordination),
I Create a Block with attribute "Name ; Model ; Level".
and then I insert the Blocks and place it in correct location inside the Layout Plan.
How can I create some script to "Scan" all Block inside the drawing and make an excel file with data like:
Block-Serial, X-Coor, Y-Coor, Rotated Angle, Name, Model, Level.
I'm doing some work with routed tubing at the moment using the Excel XYZ upload facility with auto-bend enabled and it works great. What I would like to know is if there is a way to edit an individual intersect point after the 3D line has been created? I've tried myself but can only movethe complete line, (all coordinates).
I would also like to know if it is possible to extract all XYZ intersect points back to excel or a table within Inventor so I could use the data with a CNC bending machine? Even displaying all coodrinates on the screen at once would be useful.
A working example would be as follows..., I will upload the customers XYZ data to create a 3D line, modifiy specific intersect points to simplify manufacturing and then extract the new co-ordinates to be used for prototyping purposes.

I no longer have the option to edit iparts or iassemblies via speadsheet (excel). I'm using Excel 2007. (INV 2012 Sp1)
Is excel functionality part of an addin that I might have turned off accidentally?
I believe it was working in 2012 but haven't really noticed it not working till after Sp1 install till now..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of AutoCAD files which have embedded OLE objects (excel) inside. I want to be able to export only the text from the Excel OLE object using VBA (or Lisp, I don't mind which) without having to fire up the OLE application (i.e. Excel).
The embedded OLE objects have no link to any external files - so I imagine it must all be held somehow inside the AutoCAD file, but how it can be accessed?!!?

My problem is only 2D objects show up when I paste. I tried different visual styles and colors but still cant get my solid objects to appear.

Can you export an OLE object from a DWG back to an Excel file/document?
I'm trying to convert Excel graphs into high resolution tiffs. I am saving the graph as an .eps file and opening it in Photoshop. This worked for a few graphs, then all of a sudden Photoshop started opening the .eps file such that it was shifted and only part of the image was showing up (the rest cannot be seen and is just cut off).

You seem to have to choose between defining a Print Area OR maintaining hyperlinks. Is there a way to get both?
If I select a Print Area before invoking the PDFMaker macro, I get this message:
Acrobat PDFMaker cannot create Tags, Bookmarks and Links for Worksheets with Print Area other than 'Entire Sheet'. Clear the 'Print area' field in Page Setup to get these features. Do you want to proceed and creat a PDF file without Tags?

I want to be able to edit the object through the viewport, but NOT change the object in ALL the other viewports as well. In other words, I want to INDIVIDUALLY/EXCLUSIVELY edit the object of each viewport (i.e. in my A, B, C, D, E, windows in the image) without affecting the rest of the others.
Is this possible? If not, is there a workaround?

I currently have a viewport - it is an a1 rectangle in size, lets call it VP1. I would like to create a smaller viewport inside of this, lets say VP2.
When I draw a circle, and use the tool 'Convert Object To Viewport' everything works great - but now VP2 has all of the objects from VP1 showing through the background too. How can I resolve this?
I have been looking for something in the properties, much like text, which will 'background mask' to the viewport - but I am struggling to find any thing.

My Acad experience is very old-school, and I have been away from true Autocad for a number of years.
I have been attempting to edit the properties of objects in the block editor and ran into a problem.
+ I select an object.
+ Right-click and choose Properties.
+ A list of properties is displayed, but they are not for the object I am trying to edit.
I did a test by selecting the object and using the command prompt, used the CHPROP command to change the objects color. It did change color as expected.
However, when I used the right-click/properties method, the properties shown do not show the new color. So, I suspect that my right-click/properties method is not showing me the object's properties. But, rather the default properties when any new objects are created.
So, obviously right-clicking is not the way to get there. What am I missing?
I am using Inventor 2013, with the stl importer plugin also installed. I have had a objected scanned and the scan is been given to me in STL file.
As you may know that once something is scanned, it becomes a mesh object with many triangle faces. This is more evident on curved parts of the object.
Is there any way to smooth the surface so the curves do no look like very small step trying to form a curve? If the surface does not become smoothed out so its seen as one surface then I will have to adjust every small face at a time?
I've tried to import a dwg file that was created by someone else but I'm having a hard time editing it. I can scale it and move it and things like that, but if i wish to change the height. I tried scaling it, but it messes up the object. The object I am trying to shorten is a measuring rack on this site [URL].......
I can't change the objects height. Perhaps it's because it's a block reference or something. I've tried editing the block itself, but i have no luck in trying to edit the height. I cant splice it either.
