I have snap on, and Im drawing as usual. At some point I want to mirror something:
MIRROR
-select object, done, enter,
-select two dots of the axis
in this phase, where I'm supposed to pick the points, snap turns off, or stops working. I turn it on and off, I uncheck all the options, check them again.
I've got most of my most commonly used keyboard commands changed to simplified versions that suit me, however, I have not figured out how to change the snap commands. I still type "nea" and "per" to snap to nearest and perpendicular. How do I change these?
Also, how do you change the F keys?
If my SNAP is turned OFF it automatically turns itself ON when i draw some linework. It keeps doing this in certain 2D only cad files. As a temporary fix i have tried to set my snap spacing to .0001 to keep the crosshairs running smoothly but they still appear excessively jumpy at about 1 unit. This only happens in plotable drawings that contain a certain 2D xref and the offending xref itself. If i unload all the xrefs the problem DISAPPEARS, although this doesn't let me draft any easier!
My OSNAP is working fine although it does reset itself when i have been using certain LISP routines.
FYI, if I open the same drawing on another users computer the SNAP stays off and the crosshairs run smooth.
When using the 'space generate' option when inserting a space, the tool automatically turns off 'object snap' and then of course it doesn't turn it back on at the end of the operation. I tend to need to switch back and forth from auto generate to polygonal insertion and having to reset object snap every time.

How to keep the snap mode settings from disappearing after certain commands. For example every time I use a lisp routine I have to go and reset my settings because they are no longer the way I had them set before I performed the lisp command.

for example i set F4 to end point and F5 to intersection point etc. it saves using O snap or a tab. just L, F4 and its done (for example)
We recently had a draftsman that drew with snap on (he no longer works here), and now all the drawings he worked on have this setting turned on. I thought it would be as simple as opening up the drawings and either hitting F9 or clicking on the toggle to turn off snap. That doesn't seem to be the case. Snap mode seems to be tied to individual sheets, and every viewport. I have multiple sheets in a drawing and each sheet has multiple viewports. The last thing I want to do is open every drawing, click in every viewport on every sheet to turn off snap.
I have snapmode set to 0, but it will only turn it of in whatever sheet or viewport is active. I have to write a lisp routine that will go through every viewport on every sheet to set snapmode to 0?

View 9 Replies View RelatedSnap commands in X6? I can not get the snap to grid to turn off. The button is off and the setting is set to off in options. Objects seem to snap all over not just to the grid. And the grid snap seems to be out of alignment-I cant seem to get objects to snap exactly to the grid.
The same files reopened in X5 are fine. This started with yesterdays install of 6.2. leaving X2 completely unusable.
I'm trying to snap one object to the other with vert snap.
It's trying to snap from the center of my object rather then the vert I am hovering over. In the Snap settings I have only "vertex" checked so it should snap to whatever vertex I hover over but no...This keeps up I'm going back to 2008 when all this worked fine.
When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.
I used the cut command within an assembly and it made the cut parts turn red. How can I turn this indicator off?

When i try plotting to dwg to pdf using dwg to pdf.pc3 plotter, the pdf's is bad quality, text is unclear in some areas and lines is "out of focus".
I have tried recreating the pc3 file with no luck.
I am using autocad 08 LT and everytime i plot to pdf using standard cad dwg to pdf.pc3 the txt turns out bold.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe use only polyline when drawing. Plinetype is set to 0.
First problem is with J (join) command. Sometimes when we try to join different polylines it kills a vertex. Example if i have two polylines (they are not joined) that forms a rectangle it will join them but kill one vertex and turn it into triangle. This dosen't happen all the time.
Second problem i figured a way round for the problem above, if i use the pedit command and then use j the above problem never happens. But instead (also not every time) it turns the joined polyline into lwpolyline. So its all pretty anoing as we have to use convertoply.
Is there some other command than plinetype to resolve his problem.
I have a problem in my ucs icon when i am drawing/rotating and dimensioning my drawing.. the ucs turns to have extra lines and even the dimensions has unnecessary lines. how am i suppose to fix this

I am having an issue with pipe and tube routing in inventor. I am new to it and every once in a while a route that i create turns red in the browser bar, I also noticed that a few of the routes have issues where the adaptivity gets turned off by itself. I assume this has something to do with the route turning red.

I have Autocad Architecture 2011 and it was working perfect until Yesterday. I Repair and then Reinstall but still the same problem.
When I have a Parellel (isometric) View and transfer to perspective works well but when I exit from the orbit function everything disappear and the cursor become crazy. I push pan and appears the drawing I release pan and the drawing disappear. The same problem in a viewport. I setup the perspective view on the viewport, lock the v-port, save and close the drawing, then open the same drawing and the perspective view become Isometric.
My coworker gets this error:
He makes a detail. In the enlarged view he makes a sketch. He then makes a break out. Within the enlarged view, in the gap which the break out opened up for clarity of the view, are two components that he wishes to make its hidden lines visible. Doing this locks up his machine and makes a single component turn red.

The pickbox keeps turning into a rectangle and not a perfect square. It's width is less than its height. This keeps happening and is annoying. When I close AutoCAD 2012 and then reopen the drawing its a square, but soon turns into a rectangle.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a little problem with autocad 2012. When I open a dwg in autocad 2012 some hatch turns solid, but same dwg is fine in autocad 2011 or previous versions. What is interesting if I am in autocad 2012 and i click on the hatch and change something on the properties and i click enter it turns normal to what it should be. So i click on the hatch again change back the whatever it was previously and hit enter. I regen everything and its still fine. So basically i did nothing to it and its fixed. So this might be bug I am not sure. So after all this, i save the dwg and exit. I re-open the dwg again in autocad 2012 the hatch is back to solid. What is very interesting in autocad 2011 everyhing is fine no hatch problems at all. I attached two pdfs as to what it should looks like when its correct hatch and what it looks like when i open it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got this weird error on Civil 2012, I have been working with Civil products for a few years now and have never had this happen till today. Other co-workers have had the same problem which only started to occur yesterday.
The Error; Was working on a drawing with multiple layers, surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, and of course point groups. The screen froze for about 2 seconds when I was attempting to hatch an object, after the quick freeze all my layers (each assigned different colors) turned on (visible) and changed color to white. Everything on the drawing became inactive except for the save button and the close button. So I saved it and closed the drawing, I had other drawings open at the same time and these were never affected (still had color and could work on them). Since the save button was still working I never lost any work that I had completed but it is still annoying having to close and open the drawing since larger drawings can take a few min to open.
Is this an Autocad issue or is it something with our machines/network?

Mirroring a part or assembly in 2014 makes the derived part with all sketches visibility on, nevertheless the original sketches visibility is off.

It makes me sick switching them down.
Is it treatable?
I've been using Autocad 2007 for the past 5 months without these issues, then I had to create a new account on my computer at work and now EVERY time I create a hatch it turns into this dead mass. Yes, I've tried creating an associative hatch, and no, I can't edit them either.
