Mar 8, 2012Anytime I draw a sketch the surface of the part highlights to a red color. It is hurting my eyes and how to switch it off.

Jan 7, 2013I had with a custom texture not showing up on my parts while they were showing up on a coworkers computer fine. I recently cured my own issue (I just needed to click Textures On in the View toolbar under Appearances). I am thinking it is going to be a simple fix as well but I have not been able to find it.
Everytime I close out of a part or assembly it automatically turns the textures back off so I have to turn them on everytime. I looked through the Application Options and Document settings to keep textures turned on but could not find anything. How to turn the textures on and leave them on?

Oct 3, 2012I have just upgraded to 2013, and there is one "feature" I find kind of distracting. When working in a part, I create a new sketch. When I extrude that sketch, Inventor automatically switches me to an Iso view. I don't want that. I would prefer to stay in the view that I established.
Is there a way to turn that off?
AutoCAD 2010 :: SNAP Automatically Turns Itself ON When Draw Some Linework
Mar 8, 2012If my SNAP is turned OFF it automatically turns itself ON when i draw some linework. It keeps doing this in certain 2D only cad files. As a temporary fix i have tried to set my snap spacing to .0001 to keep the crosshairs running smoothly but they still appear excessively jumpy at about 1 unit. This only happens in plotable drawings that contain a certain 2D xref and the offending xref itself. If i unload all the xrefs the problem DISAPPEARS, although this doesn't let me draft any easier!
My OSNAP is working fine although it does reset itself when i have been using certain LISP routines.
FYI, if I open the same drawing on another users computer the SNAP stays off and the crosshairs run smooth.

Sep 20, 2012How do I duplicate the 2D line work from a part level sketch into a drawing level (overlay) sketch?
I started a simple 2D piping system diagram sketch by opening a new part file and using a sketch to stick draw the system schematic including some annotations. Then I opened a new drawing file and made a base view of the part file to bring a view of the original sketch into the drawing.
I realize now that it would have been much easier to have created the schematic directly in a 2D sketch at the drawing level, which would have made editing the annotations much easier at the drawing level, and there is really no need for the part file to exist. I have no intention of creating a 3D model or "real" part in the .ipt file, was just using it as a jumping off point to sketch.
I was thinking that I could correct my error in judgment by just copying the sketch and pasting it into a new sketch on the drawing, but it doesn't want to work that way. I have tried copying both the whole sketch at the browser level, and the entire sketch contents (all of the lines and annotations) from the opened part sketch, but when I attempt to paste either of those into the drawing, paste does not seem to be an option. I'd rather not have to draw the whole thing again, as in typical fashion, my once simple sketch has grown in proportion and complexity from its simple beginning.

I get my transparency but the program I'm using at the moment does a cleaner job with white. When it's black I see a little trash of black around the edge of the graphic. In the past I've come up with white quite by accident and it was clean as a whistle. I'm exporting as PNG, True Color + Alpha.

He makes a detail. In the enlarged view he makes a sketch. He then makes a break out. Within the enlarged view, in the gap which the break out opened up for clarity of the view, are two components that he wishes to make its hidden lines visible. Doing this locks up his machine and makes a single component turn red.
