AutoCad 2D :: Change Scale To Arch
Sep 24, 2012How do i change my scale to arch?

View 5 RepliesI am using the student version of Revit and have desparately been trying to create a document that would print to scale. I use PDF creator to convert Revit to pdf, but it always comes messed up by an inch or so...insted of 4.6, it prints 4.75 (or the other way around). I tried formating my title block in many different ways, including deleting the outer lines. Nothing works. There is no Arch D format in the family of titleblocks. I am a complete beginner, just started using Revit a couple months ago, with no knowledge of CAD or anything similar. When I look at the PDF creator page of my doc, it shows that the doc has been properly sized, but when the print place prints it out, it is off by 1" or so.
How do I format my sheet so it prints to scale in format 24" X36"?
How to represent a bottomless arch (arch span)? I can make a horizontal arch pipe, but I only need the top half. I also thought about building a corridor.
We do have a storm drain system running perpendicular above it and need to show the arch as a crossing. Corridor would work but I think I would prefer a pipe network-type solution.
I used BRUSHED STEEL, in Arch & Design, now I have to change the color of this material, from grey brushed steel into yellow/gold brushed steel!
Can this be done?
I have trouble figuring out dash lines. If i change global scale factor or current object scale in a spedific paper space,
the other page will be affected...
I have a spreadsheet and iLogic driven mater assy to generate different iterations.
I would like to change the scale of a base view on a drawing based on a parameter in my assembly. The idea is to get iLogic to change the view using a simple If / Else statement.
This is what I tried:
If Parameter("0 Generic Assembly v2.2.iam.BP") < 1570 Then
ActiveSheet.View("VIEW1").Scale = 1/8
Else
ActiveSheet.View("VIEW1").Scale = 1/10
EndIf
So basically the value of "BP" parameter (excel parameter in my assy) would drive the scale of the views. But its not working. Is it actually a sensible method? Can I use in the drawing environment the excel parameters in my assembly?
This is the error message I get when the rule is run:
"Error in rule: View Scale, in document: 0 Generic Assembly v2.2.idw
Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))"
Also using the same thinking I use iLogic to populate the drg number field on the drawing based on an excel parameter. The rule works but does not always updates the drawing no upon the parameter change or update/rebuild commands.
Mleader arrow head didn't change size when change the scale on Object property?
The Arrow head size didn't change corresponding to the scale, i included the pic below, the top picture, the arrow head was set at .18" but was really small when i plot out, so i wanted to make it bigger, when i changed to .50" or .75" or even 1" the arrow head became even smaller than .18". Only when .18" than the arrow side is legible

I got the VBA code to access the dwg scale. I would now like to know how to change the dwg scale with VBA. How do I do that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've completed my drawing in modelspace, scale 1:1. I'm about to set up for plotting in 1:00 scale. I go to layout, pan the image, set scale to 1:100 and lock the viewport. Everything is peachy so far. I also need to have some dims on my drawing, so I go back to paperspace, change the scale from 1:1 to 1:100 and all hell breaks loose and my drawing is left as a mess.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen i go to use a new hatch and try to change the scale it automatically goes back to 1.0. When i go into Hatch edit after i have clicked out of it, i can get it to go to the scale i need. It just wastes so much time to have to do two steps instead of one. How can i get the scale to change right away?

If I have drawing that was drawn in scale 1:1250 in model space but I want to show this in paper space as scale 1:500 the dwg will obviously be tiny. How do I change the scale in model space so that it can be presented in paper space fitting the page at scale 1:500 on size A1? Is there a calculation I need to change the model space dwg?
I want to change my ground conductor from solid green to a dashed line (green is OK) on a set of drawings, but all the dashed linetypes I can find don't show up well at the scale that I've drawn the circuits. I can make them look OK by changing the linetype scale in the properties manager window, but there are a boatload of these lines in eight viewports; finding them all would be a major pain. They are all on a single layer, though, but in the layer properties manager I do not see a way to change the linetype scale for the layer. I could use the properties manager to make the change if I could select everything on the layer. Is there a way to do that?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi already know how to change the viewport scaling from 1:1, to 1:10, to 1:20, and so on but my real issue is someone before me change the view scale from 1:1 to 1:.808XXXXX. when i print my figures from the layout everything that is not in the viewport ( like my scale bar) come out shorter that it is on the the screen in paper space. Ive tried to change it back to 1:1 but it wont accept it and keeps the .808XXX value.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to change the DIMSCALE. I want to change this is our template. It is 8'-0" and I can't get it to change to anything else. I get a response of "Cannot set DIMSCALE to the value". I have entered 1....1'=0"....0'=.8333....4'-0" etc., etc. Units are in Architecture Inches. I've unchecked "Automatically Create Dimscale Override"; saved as Default; went to Options...AEC Dimension and unchecked everything in "Automatic Scale of AutoCAD Dimstyles" (don't know if that has anything to do with it).
How do I change the DIMSCALE?
We had a lab we have a CAD class in. One student suddenly has an issue where AutoCad LT 2014 freezes when he opens up his project and changes the scale. He has tried several computers and the same issue occurs. It seems like it may be something with the project file. Is there any way to retore the file where this does not happen and so he can continue working on his project?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem between my template in inch and the one in mm.
Its the linetype scale that is wrong in the mm one, when i draw in the inch one, everything is fine but when i draw in the mm one, i have to set the ltscale to like 25 to see them at the same scale that they are in the inch one.
My guest is its because i've create my template for the mm one base on the inch one and i just change the unit type to mm. Is there a setting i could change that will arrange this?
Product Design Suite 2013
I am currently working on the drawing which I initially didnt have a template for (ie the border for the A1 page this drawing will be printed on) so off I went and started drawing using a scale of 1 drawing units = 1mm.
Now I have been given the border and the drawing I have comes no where near fitting on the sheet so I want to select all of the drawing and change the scale but I obviously don't want the dimensions to change. How can I achieve this?
I also need to know as there are certain parts of the drawings that need zoomed in views so all I want to do is copy the parts I have drawn and increase the scale but again keep the dimensions the same.
I have a drawing and when I measure the width of a window it says 30.9, when it is supposed to be 1100mm. Is it possible to change the scale so that the measurement is correct?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSomeone was using my computer and maybe they clicked on some button but now if I am in a layout and double click on my viewport I can not change the View Scale by typing in a custom scale.
I typically work in meters and do subdivision layout so I use 1:500 up to 1:5,000 but now even though the view ports are unlocked the number will not change when I type it in but I can zoom in and out with my mouse.
I can pick a scale in viewport scale like 1:5 1:1 but prefer to type in my scale as I like to plot it.
I can't find the option that changes the scale from 1/100 to 1/16" to 1'-0" or how to have the scale show up on a drawing. I've gone into options and turned on the scale visibility but get squat on both.
Also where can I find a list of the title block text options ie. ,
I can't seem to change a viewport in layout view to show my drawing properly. No matter what I do the page only shows a very zoomed in view or a very zoomed out view. I have tried all menu options witht he word scale in, including the scale list. I have looked in the properties inspector.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use: oView.scale=oView.scale/2 to half each view scale. It works for base view, projected views like bottom view and left view, but it doesn't work for Isometric view. Which property should I use for Isometric view?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a fully completed drawing that is in 'architectural' (inches) and I would like to be able to change all of the 'feet & inches' linear dimensions (which form part of the drawing when the layer is turned on) to solely 'mm' instead.
The UNITS command keeps coming to mind, but I know that's not how to go about it. I've Googled for like 45 mins and read some highly overcomplicated instructions that lost me.
(note I am posting this in the beginners section )
simplified way to change this either via a command or changing settings via the toolbar?
I am running Civil 3D 2010. I have hatch a bunch of areas with the gravel pattern hatch. However, they are at different scales. When I try to change the scale I get a totally different hatch pattern. I have attached a screen shot showing my problem. Hatch picture.pdf
View 3 Replies View Relatedtake a look at the test.dwg it contains a block named 'box' (which is a rectangle) and some attributes. the annotation scale is 1:1 and i zoomed in to focus on one attribute.
change the annotation scale to 1:2 and you will see the attribute grows by 2 - that's ok! now load attmod.lsp and run attmod command and you will see the attribute grows again by 2
even the command only (entmod) the attributes without making any change.(to restore it use battman sync)Is there a workaround to this bug?
i create multible blocks (min. 100 blocks in diffrent name) with Diffrent hatches in that block....
i want to change the scale in all diffrent hatches.. in all block...

My annotative text moves from its original place when I change my viewport scale. I tried to add the PS scale to my original xref, but when I click on the text, I can't change the "no" to "yes" on the options menu where it says annotative.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI need to change the hatch size (not the pattern scale or space, juste the hatch size).
Exemple : I have a circle, and a hatch inside the circle. The radius of the circle is 10, so the radius of the hatch is 10 too.
What i want to do is to make the hatch smaller (or bigger) like this : Circle radius : 10, Hatch Radius 5 (or 15).
My first idea was to recreate a new circle with radius 5, and a new hatch inside and then erase the second circle. It works, but not very effective in my case.
So, it's why i came here to ask if there is any solutions to make this faster, easier, without having to recrate another hatch, another circle...
