I have a drawing and when I measure the width of a window it says 30.9, when it is supposed to be 1100mm. Is it possible to change the scale so that the measurement is correct?
View 8 RepliesThe measure tool is not giving me the correct measurement. For example, I offset a line 24' and when I go to double check the distance it is off by .03. That is starting on the original line and doing a perpendicular snap to the other line. So I thought, wait a minute that can't be right, so I drew a line between the two lines and did an inquiry and it gave me 24'.
I also did a dimension which also was correct. I also measured a 97' line and it was off by 3 feet. Never had issues with previous versions of Autocad as far as measuring.
Spot elevation doesn’t’ take the correct measurement,
I tried to add the “spot elevation” for the stair plan but sounds not to take the correct value.

I am trying to insert a block into a file in Acad 2014 and it comes in too large. If I insert the same block into the same file using Acad 2012 it comes in at the correct scale. Doesn't seem to matter if insunits is 0 or 1, or insunitsdefsource or insunitsdeftarget are also 0 or 1.
There must be some variable or variables I'm missing.
I'm trying to set the scale of my picture in CS6 but everytime I got to analysis -- set measurement scale I can't select it! I need it to make scale bars on my fluorescent pics so I can finish my thesis. I have CS6 (64x) from creative suite 6 design standard that I got from my school. The picture is .tiff file 24 bit

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am putting together a catalog with some drawings from AC 2010. I am drawing in model space and printing in paper space. The view port scale is 1:1. If I print directly from Autocad to the printer, everything is fine. If I first plot to PDF from Autocad and then print, the dimensions are off by about 1/8". The dimensions read correctly, but they do not measure correctly. The paper size is 8 1/2 x 11. I would like these PDF files to be accurate in case someone needs to print them.
I have tried saving to dwf and then printing and printing out of Design Review but it doesn't make any difference. My settings in Adobe are 1:1 as far as I can tell.
I've got a question about plotting to a measurable PDF with the correct scale.
Currently, if you plot to PDF (ARCH full bleed D 24x36 paper size) using 1:1 scale of the Layout area (including viewport, title block, etc) you get a nice PDF of the appropriate plan which would print to paper at the correct scale (1/16" = 1' 0'). If you set the plot scale to 1/16" = 1' 0' then preview/plot it then it appears completely tiny (like 2% of the page size), in the bottom left corner.
However, I want to make the PDF measurable. At the moment, if you do this using a 1:1 plot, the default numbers given by the measure tool are way out of proportion (a 29' dimension in the drawing is measured as 48,294 with no units). To get it to give accurate measurements, you have to tell Reader/Acrobat to ignore document scaling in preferences, then "Change Scale Ratio" to the appropriate scale ratio (0.625 in = 1 ft). This means you can measure to scale in Reader or Acrobat BUT these options disappear once you close Reader/Acrobat.
creating measurable PDFs from Autocad plots?
I'm trying to convert a hand drawn paper plan of our house into Autocad so that I can tweak it. I'm not bad at drawing things in autocad, but how to set it up properly for the file to be printed out in a shop on A0 at the correct scale. Either some info on how to set it up, or a template file that is already setup would be great.

I'm using Civil 3D, 2013 on a 32 bit machine.
I have the DWG file with a row of parts. I need to take each part geometry and insert in separate IPT sketch.
As result in the IPT I have multiplied for 25.4 geometry.
I downloaded a block of a plan view of a wheelchair user so I can see just how much space there is available.
The block is dimensioned but when I insert it and measure its dimensions, the readings are different. For example, a dimension reads 1070mm but when I measure it, I get 1023mm. Not far out but when I measure a 150mm dimension, I get 83mm. A 460mm dimension is measured as 536mm.
INSUNITS = 0
IN this drawing, I want the 9.00 to be either 4 ( feet) or 48 (inches).
How do I set the correct scale in this or any drawing?
So I create a block on layer 0 and then create the block as a 1 inch by 1 inch block so it is easy to scale up to the size I need but when I try to insert the block at the scale I need it wont resize it to the correct scale. It stays at the 1 inch by 1 inch original block.

Can I change that to display milmeters? I am aware that it can be changed in the rulers, but up where it says X, Y, then width and height, it shows inches. I want to view it in milimeters, because I am doing a project in milimeters. How do I do that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can not get the ruler to display - and yes I know how to turn it on and to change the unit of measurement. Also the options for setting the diameter of the clone stamp is no where to be found. BTW, I'm using the expert mode and even tried the other modes, still no dice. There does seem to be some change in the margin border when I attempt to display the ruler (just gets slightly wider, but no ruler). Perhaps there is a a button some where to make all the adjustments visible like I am used to seeing in previous versions.

I am current CC subscriber and love all the different programs and the capabilities that come along with it. How to scale my artwork. For example, I have designed my business logo at 220 x 220 pixels. When I export it as a jpeg file to upload into my SharePoint team site and resize it, the quality diminishes considerably. Sharepoint recommends uploading a picture that is approximately 60 x 60 pixels. how do I take my 220 x 220 artwork and make it so that when I export it, it is 60 x 60 pixels?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhile working on different art through out the past year, my CorelDraw X3 increment settings change. EX: I'll add a 8 pt line to an object. Later on, I'll want to change it but the increments have changed to millimeters. The only way I can change it back is by pulling up the full outline options window. Is there a way to keep this from changing or at least change it back after it occurs?

I would like to change the scale of a base view on a drawing based on a parameter in my assembly. The idea is to get iLogic to change the view using a simple If / Else statement.
This is what I tried:

So basically the value of "BP" parameter (excel parameter in my assy) would drive the scale of the views. But its not working. Is it actually a sensible method? Can I use in the drawing environment the excel parameters in my assembly?
This is the error message I get when the rule is run:
"Error in rule: View Scale, in document: 0 Generic Assembly v2.2.idw
Unspecified error (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL))"
Also using the same thinking I use iLogic to populate the drg number field on the drawing based on an excel parameter. The rule works but does not always updates the drawing no upon the parameter change or update/rebuild commands.
Mleader arrow head didn't change size when change the scale on Object property?
The Arrow head size didn't change corresponding to the scale, i included the pic below, the top picture, the arrow head was set at .18" but was really small when i plot out, so i wanted to make it bigger, when i changed to .50" or .75" or even 1" the arrow head became even smaller than .18". Only when .18" than the arrow side is legible

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've completed my drawing in modelspace, scale 1:1. I'm about to set up for plotting in 1:00 scale. I go to layout, pan the image, set scale to 1:100 and lock the viewport. Everything is peachy so far. I also need to have some dims on my drawing, so I go back to paperspace, change the scale from 1:1 to 1:100 and all hell breaks loose and my drawing is left as a mess.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to change my ground conductor from solid green to a dashed line (green is OK) on a set of drawings, but all the dashed linetypes I can find don't show up well at the scale that I've drawn the circuits. I can make them look OK by changing the linetype scale in the properties manager window, but there are a boatload of these lines in eight viewports; finding them all would be a major pain. They are all on a single layer, though, but in the layer properties manager I do not see a way to change the linetype scale for the layer. I could use the properties manager to make the change if I could select everything on the layer. Is there a way to do that?
